Nope, you're not alone. I loved MHN and actually found Veer Zaara to be overwrought crap that wasn't even fresh in its manipulative tactics.

It just seemed as if they were going soullessly down a list of all the the classical building blocks of a "Shah Rukh Khan Romance" and ticking off the necessary cliches one at a time.

I just felt no heart in it.

MHN was cute, crazy, ridiculous, spontaneous (seeming) and fun.

I loved MHN...masala done well. But OSO was just time pass fun. The thing is, like anonymous was saying, such kind of films are fine as long as there's a balance with a film with a good script and scope. MHN came with Swades, OSO with Chak De...

Ranbir too should move away from friends and explore his talent and push the envelope. Or he will be only listening to his coterie(which includes media)..He says that he can work only with people who love him..So expectedly he works with SiddharthAnand,Ayan Mukherjee,Anurag Basu,Imtiaz Ali,Karan Johar..they all are part of his inner circle..

Yet Besharam sounds most exciting..Good or bad..We can look forward to a different persona in the film..
