I'd like to know which actors frustrate us the most, be it their choices, self desctuctive behavior that leads to career meltdown or even their styling, who make you want call them up and shout at them...
"STOP THAT NOW!"
It doesn't have to be someone you dislike, in fact I started this thread because while
looking through the thread on which actors piss people off the most, a certain name popped into my head...Akshay Kumar!
But that's not fair because I DON'T dislike Akshay. In fact I really LIKE the guy. I always root for his movies to do well and smile when I see him but his FILM CHOICES!!!! What the hell is up with THAT?
For every OMG Oh My God---In which his charming depiction of an updated Krishna was enough to make an old Agnostic like me religious---he grunts out three like Jokers, or TMK or...oh lord...Kambakkht Ishq.
Though the real Akshay revelation for me was him in serious roles. When he's not pretending to be an ape on speed, slapfighting monkeys or slapping dancers on the ass while leering into the camera this man is very, very good!
I love his acting when he's subdued and normal. Unfortunately Akshay seems destined to fall into the trap of so many A-list Bollymen. You have to play a "lover" be so broadly "funny" that the humor is only surefire among 4 year olds with a sugar high. To be fair Akshay does get some legitimate action films but then we get into the whole Bollywood script situation and that's rarely any good for anyone.
Still I think Akshay needs to learn the art of refusal when it comes to crappy movie ideas, but then he's getting paid for the dross as well as for the gold so I guess you can't really blame him.
It just frustrates me that an actor with so much talent, charm and genuine attractiveness has to be associated with some of the worst dreck I've ever seen.
His quiet moments in Patiala House were a revelation, and though it bombed I also liked him in 8x10 Tasveer.
So hand in hand with SRK, whose film choices (considering his power, ability to actually choose what he wants to do and his reputation as a reading man who's been exposed to the literature and cinema of the world) baffle me I'd say that Akshay Kumar is one of the actors who frustrate the hell out of me.
