The Challenge
Anandi held the beautiful black dress and loved the way it felt, it was satin and smooth and tingled her skin.it was his gift..they were in London..
Shiv had to attend a conference, the CM had asked him to attend a global conference on rural development, he had to learn how other countries brought about agricultural developments which increased productivity, the knowledge that he would gain would help him train the people of Jaitsar and other rural areas in Rajasthan, he was honored that the CM had picked him for such an important task. Anandi beamed with pride as her husband was chosen for this conference.
Shiv insisted that Anandi join him too, it would be a great get a away for them as they were both wrapped up in their daily schedules and barely managed to get any quality time with each other.

Pagal hogaye ho kya mein aur Jeans pant bilkul nahin cartoon lagungi main! Shiv hides a smile, Anandi catches him grinning and realizes he was pulling a fast one on her, accha to collector sahib mera mazak uda rahe the, ab to apko sabak sikhani hi padegi!
Shiv tells her that they could get her some salwar kameez which she would be comfortable wearing, she agrees but has not forgotten the challenge in his eyes. They had to get their visas stamped and left for Delhi, they both shop around for some elegant Salwar kameezs, Anandi was happy with her purchases, their Visa work was done, tickets were booked and they were ready for London, she did not realize that while she was busy trying out the dresses, Shiv had discreetly bought a beautiful black gown for her knowing that she would need something for the Cocktail party they would have to attend at the end of the conference, he also wanted to see if she would take him up on his challenge as the dress that he had picked up was really daring, a halter dress that flared from the waist with a long slit which ran up to her mid thigh'.he knew it was asking too much of her but never the less, this was London and he would be the only one who would see her dressed like that, that was IF she wore it. He also managed to get the salesgirl to pick up a pair of matching shoes to go with the gown.
Coming back to the present, Anandi was intrigued at the package that was lying on the bed, she had not noticed Shiv pack it, unwrapping the package, she was dumbstruck at the beauty of the dress, would she be able to do justice to such a bold dress and then she remembered the challenge in Shiv's eyes. Oh yes!! She would. She made up her mind, Shiv said that he had some more meetings to wrap up and would come and pick her up at 6 to go the party.
It was 3 in the afternoon, she had three hours to get ready, what will I do with my hair, she called room service and they guided her to the salon in the hotel, she had an appointment at 4. She carried her dress with her.
Anandi stared at the mirror, was it the same Anandi from Jaitsar who never wore anything but ghaghras and saris, what if Dsa and Masa saw her like this, what would they think, she could actually visualize Dsa's jaw dropping, Ee kaun firangni aa gayi jaitsar mein isko koi dhang ke kapde to pahna do. What would Gulli and her students think, they would say Jiji aap to pari lag rahi ho. CS to aap ko dekhte hi rah jayenge'.
How do u like it?...she was brought back to the present by the hairdresser.
Anandi said softly, I love it, she was a sight to behold, the hairdresser had pulled her hair into a French roll, she had very light make up, highlighting her dove eyes and full lips, the dress fit like a second skin, it felt so soft, her shoulders were bear exposing her long neck and the slit showed off her slim and shapely legs as she walked, she had to practice walking in those heals, as she had never worn one before. I must remember to be careful, I don't want to trip and make a fool of myself or Shiv she reminded herself.
She thanked the beautician who could not stop praising Anandis beauty and told her that she would make her husband proud today.
It was 5.45 when Anandi got back to the room, she was nervous, she had 15 more minutes before Shiv would get back, she practiced walking with the high heels, by now she was comfortable in them. She went to the restroom one last time to make sure everything was fine.
In the meanwhile, Shiv entered the room, he looked around for Anandi but couldn't find her, he saw the light in the restroom and walked towards it. Anandi he called as he reached to knock on the door, she opened the door at the same instant'.Ana'..he stopped, they stared at each other...Shiv could not believe his eyes, who was this stunning woman in their bathroom? Was this really his Anandi,the Sarpanch of Jaitsar'..she did take up his challenge and God knew she won hands down. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on and she was his, a strand of hair escaped her roll and fell on her forehead. Shiv lifted his hand and tucked it behind her ears, his touch sent shivers down her spine,shivers of anticipation,shivers of what was to come.
Kya hua? Collector sahib , kahan kho gaye aap?
Wo ...main...aap...Anandi tum hi ho na..maine tumhe pehchana nahin.tum ne to meri bolti hi band kar di.
Haan accha hua, waise bhi bahut bolte hain aap..ab muzhe pata chala aap ko kaise chup karana hain!!!!
Saying that, she sensously sailed past him into the room and said, chaliye ab jaldi tayar ho jaiye jaana nahin hain kya'.
Haan abhi aata hoon. He couldn't stop staring at her and thought to himself, how do I get by this evening. He almost cancelled going to the party but he knew he couldn't do that, people were waiting to meet them both.
He came out of the room and now it was her turn to stare. He wore a tuxedo and looked smashing. Anandi was suddenly afraid, what if some of the girls wanted a dance with him, she had already seen girls eyeing him on the streets, he looked so handsome, chalein..Anandi was brought back from her thoughts. He came close to her and turned her around.
Kya kar rahe hain aap?
Kuch nahin meri anmol biwi ke liye ek anmol bhet, he put a beautiful diamond necklace around her and kissed the nape of her neck as he fastened the clasp. His kiss made her shiver and she turned around and hugged him tight his hands went around her waist and he nuzzled her neck and kissed the side of her lips, tumhari lipstick kharab ho jayegi, baad mein... He left his statement incomplete...
