Hello ji 🤗

it's not about Virat or Maanvi.. today it is about Nia's performance at the ITA-2012, something different for me to write ..
Each time, I post something out of my comfort zone.. my hands perspire in apprehension as how it will be . and how it will be perceived.. let us see how it goes ..

Woman, she is synonymous with SHAKTI, the goddess of Power, in every sense, but Is it true in todays world? A woman/girl, who depicts Shakti, can she go out all alone, by herself, at night, a BIG NO.. Satyameva Jayathe showcased the tribulations and afflictions of millions of girls/women...In all these are we seeing woman/girl as epitome of Shakti/Power.. NO..

Nia's first ACT, today depicted the same thing which we saw in Satyameva Jayate, how a girl becomes prey to the vicious society.. A girl, dressed in white, representing, peace, serenity, kindness and love, was covered and protected in her own little space, she tries to come out of it, and stumbles, representing the protecting hands, (read as parents..and family) does not want her to go out into the vicious world all alone.. but she still walks out to explore the outer world,

she is scared to hell, she is confused, she is apprehensive, she is uncertain, by the time she tries to step back into her protective world.. vicious hands of the evil society from all directions hold her, toss her, turn her, abuse her, hurt her, misuse her, insult her and vituperate her...She is left there all alone dejected, desolated, in despondency, with her heart going through profound anguish, despair and misery, sitting in a crumpled and broken state, only to be gathered by those protective hands of her family and envelop her back into in her secure WORLD..

This is the woman's state in today's world, so well depicted and so well portrayed ..👏

Nia, my goodness, the subtle expressions were so poignant, that the likes of Anil Kapoor and Jeetenderji were in awe and I am sure, a shrill run down their spines... Her every expression was flawless and effortless, she pulled it off in a stupendously BRILLIANT way .. Kudos to Nia👏

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second Act, before I start the write up.. I loved the music bit, composed by Bhaskar Chandavarkar in the compilation of THE ELEMENTS..this particular track represents FIRE, one of the five elements , here is the link to track on YT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnFvMHav_2o
and the sanskrit shlok used in between is
agnir hota kavikratuh, satyas citrasrawastamah,
devo devebhir a gamat.
yadanga dasuse tvam, agne bhadram karishyasi,
(5th and part of 6th mantras of first sukta of first mandala, rig veda.) were used in the act.. the meaning of which is "may agni, priest of offering whose will towards action is that of seer, who is true, most rich in varied inspiration, come, a god with the gods."
Here, " It is addressed to Agni who in the Veda, is not a mere fire or even fire-god, but is a cosmic power, the Lord of the Divine Will who activates the human beings towards an all sided perfection. Here Agni himself is the priest in the symbolic ritual, he himself is the deity and he himself calls the other luminous powers or devas to manifest in the human aspirant. The human seeker prays to Agni to cling to him like a father a son."
I know it might be confusing to most of you.. in simple terms.. it says about Fire, Truth, Sacrifice
Now coming to the performance..I was taken aback for a split second.. looking at the fire in her eyes and the fierceness in her eyes...her stiff body emitting rage...the sharp, poignant poses of Kali and Durga.. her eyes ready to take on anything and everything vicious was breathtakingly fantabulous..
She stands there as the fire, the same vicious forces approach her, she shoots the glare of fire in her eyes...and burns and blows the evil forces to ashes ..Truth and Fire hand in hand as the verse states..
here, we have two forms of fire.. one, it burns the evilness to ashes, and the other is, Agni spreads light by burning herself..
Once, the goddess of fire has destroyed the evil forces.. now she, is there to sacrifice, seeks in all the luminous powers behind her to spread light of truth to the world by sacrificing AGNI itself.. such is a woman, who sacrifices and burns herself to illuminate all around
Amazing is the power of woman, it is her own determination and inner strength, the lack of which engulfs her in evilness and the same woman, with her own inner determination and strength and fierceness... conquers the same invincible evilness
and Nia she pulled two extreme roles of a WOMAN, the fear and the fierce, the helplessness of the abused girl, the epitome of SHAKTI...with such grace and poise and with such subtlety . I just had shivers and my throat choked... Salute to Nia..👏
Every word of appreciation and praise should be bestowed up on the girl.👏. she truly deserves all the appreciation for pulling off such a brilliant and impeccable performance so effortlessly..
just a couple of hours ago, I was talking to Gowri, we were discussing how Nia's performance reflected her real life.. .. and here, she came with such beautiful lines ..thank you Gowri🤗 for such poignant words..⭐️
In a way Nia's performance was synonymous with all the events which happened in her real life too..
The world tried to stain her soul with the dirt & grime..Poor girl was alone wen all around attacked her sanity, her selfrespect.. But then.. she's the woman of the modern era, she breaks free of the clasps which held her & emerges as the goddess symbolising the power of truth, shooting vicious glares to all who tried to malign her delicate soul! The light spreads around..She revers in all her glory, The woman of today!!!
Love you Nia, for the thunderous performance!👏👏👏
Well dii.. Wat do you expect meeh to say? Its good, its stupendous? Naah, I wont say a word dii..!! Sometimes, Silence is the best way to confer your sincere love & admiration to a person...!
👏👏👏
On Nia's dance.. Well its been operated to the minutest detail by you that it will be unfair of me to comment anything. U jus spoke evrything!! The girl's an absolute wonder.. If anyone can talk with eyes, with expressions.. then it has to be HER! Be it the subtle expressions of a pristine young girl, or the soul piercing glares of the goddess of power, She pulls it off so easily! There's much more to acting, than looking beautiful & just crying or smiling..Nia is the perfect example!
A woman suffers the travails to bring life to earth, she does all the chores day & night, she is love, she is life.. Still she is the one who is subject to the heinous crimes, she is the one who remains stoic in the society of civilised fools! Nia's act made us realise we,the woman are not any less in power than a goddess & we need prove our sanctity to only our innerselves.. We are the ganga, serene & pure.. & we are the fire, all consuming & Voracious!A breathtaking concept & scintillating execution!
Dii..Mesmerising write up!! U need fry pans fr this?? Naii, I will giv you a bunch of roses!!!🤗
PS : A beeeggg thanks fr including my take on the act too, though it was..!!!
gosh Di how do you manage to do it every single time😆 analyze something with so much depth that i end up feeling we watched 2 completely different things😆 i mean i loved her act like anything too and yes got the main theme behind it as well but the way you've analyzed each and every single move, expression is truly applaudable👏👏 You've said it all not much left to add really😆 But only thing i'd like to add is very very happy about the fact that Nia got the chance to do the act. Theres no other telly actress out there who could've done justice to the act the way Nia did. Her expressions, moves, everything was bang on perfect👏👏👏 Chota packet bada dhamaka suits her to the core😃😃 and love Gowri's addition to it too😊 Gowri + Munni di how can the write up not be perfect love it to the core😊 fab work as usual😃😃
Women in India constitute nearly 50% of its population yet men consider women to be frail and weak by nature just because she is shorter and delicate compared to the strongly build man. What a man forgets that a woman is made so, so to play a specific fro in nature which a man cannot play, that is the role of the mother, a sister, a wife.
A man is aggressive and emotional so he presumes that just because a woman is patient, calm and receptive, she is weak. He forgets that 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'.
If a woman can be as calm as Sita, she can be as vicious as Maa Durga. He forgets that she can bear more pain and has more tolerance than a man. She is stronger in conviction and in perseverance. She goes through the pain of labour, she brings a child into the world and loves and protects with every cell in her body. She gaurds her brothers/sisters like a warrior and keeps up her parent's pride and honour at the cost of her own happiness. Yet women all over the world are playing a secondary role only. I'm disgusted by this.
The position in India is no different. Women were glorified in epics and puranas, for their service to their men. Serving a father first, secondly a husband, and later serving her children and grandchildren, had been her lot. Puranas mention the names of Seeta, Savitri and Anusuya and glorify them for their devote service to their husbands. They even say that a woman can easily get salvation by serving her husband. then why the discrimination? Why the atrocity?
Why do people forget, that man and a woman are the two halves of a whole? Why don't they understand, that if a man is born it is because of a woman? Why don't they?
Ok, that was enough ranting now. Sorry di, this post triggered a lot of unsaid emotions in me. Your post was amazing! I loved how you merged Nia's theme with the traditional texts of India and the role of woman, applauding the justice Nia did to her role!
👏
