Love confessions are generally such trite and predictable scenarios on TV...to me atleast...I found myself wondering in the build up to this big pareshaan confession epi ki will it all live up to the hype? In today's times, most shows seem to struggle with getting something heartfelt across on screen most of the time...it is so much easier to show a dupatta blowing in the breeze, a heroine tripping and falling into the hero's arms and a confession is complete.
Madhubala pleasantly surprised me yesterday on that count...I think that confession was one of the sweetest ones I've seen on TV in recent times...the way Madhu talks her heart out...the hesitations, that wondering, musing quality almost as if she is discovering the truth even as she happens to be telling it to the RK in her imagination..."Mujhe tumse pyar ho raha hai...nahin mujhe tumse pyar HO gaya hai"...the dialogues were bang on and DD acted very well in that bit.
Heartbreak is probably inevitable for poor Madhu given that she's flying so high and she's picked such a complicated man to fall for...and in that moment as she so desperately implores RK, "tum bhi mujhse pyar karte ho naa? Na mat kehna"...you do get that sense of foreshadowing that heartbreak is definitely coming...RK is not strong enough, or has the courage yet to reciprocate this love...It should be an interesting struggle for him as he softens helplessly in the face of her love for him and at the same time tries to maybe project himself as a hopeless monster yet again so that she starts to hate him again.
A special mention to the bg score for the confession scene...it was perfect...lovely melodies ...I"m quite thankful that they didn't go with the jarring "hum hain deewane" score...a welcome break from that song which is being quite overused these days otherwise...I prefer the instrumental scores...they have some lovely tunes in the show.
