I just returned from watching this movie. It is brilliant. I recommend it as one of the best films this year. I saw it in 3D and in English - I am posting it here nevertheless as it has Bollywood actors in it and there is a Hindi version available. There are plenty of competent reviews around - I give you one-

However, I just wanted to mention how I felt - One rarely becomes one with the medium - this movie did do that to me. It posed many existential questions on one level and was a cinematographic delight at an other level. 3D was used to depict the use of space - which was really essential to the story.

This movie moves beyond even Crouching Tiger - Hidden Dragon. It works on so many levels - do see it.

Came back to add - there were so many wondrous scenes in the movie - but the slow sinking of the ship was particularly poignant and visually stunning.

Well I got home and was reading the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. There's some good stuff out there. One of the questions - I think now pertinent- is whether the movie should have been framed at all by Irrfan Khan as the raconteur. Perhaps the ending would have been better if It just ended with the young Pi talking to the Japanese...it's a valid point.

I wonder if the film will do well globally.

jjairma, thanks so much for sharing your review.and yes its good to see rogers giving big thumbs up. hey the reviews are mostly positive for this movie

hah...i just got back watching Lincoln. I so wanted to see Life of Pi, but had to go with majority loser friends of mine.😡

but hey, Lincoln is awesome too...Daniel Lewis and Steven S are surely going to make the oscar nomination list.

but i will definitely watch Life of Pi and will share my thoughts.
