#Maanvi ' A journey worth a lifetime
'The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.'
When she met him, she was the bratty younger kid. The quirky fun loving girl, who lived and loved life. She loved loving her family and she loved the feeling of being loved by them. And she absolutely loathed people who tried to mess with the perfect life she had built.
With him, she learnt to grow up a bit. She learnt to stop being so stubborn about what she wanted, and she learnt to accept that life is as life does. She decided to stop being a messy kid and clean them up, like a good little girl.
She remained her crazy, impulsive self but she learned to compromise, to live with things she couldn't change. Like putting up with her didi's annoying devarji. She learned to adjust with life and she found a new bond building with her best 'fighting' friend.
She learned to trust him more than she trusted her own self. She knew now that even she got lost on the way, he would come to find her. And she learnt, that were relationships beyond just family. Of trust, of friendship.
It came to a point when she trusted her friend's advice more than her family. She saw a new shade of life, a soft mushy shade, full of fun, life and happiness. No innuendos, no drama. Just plain and pure joy.
She knew he would be there by her side even if the world turned its back to her. Through the rough winds and the rain and the ice, when the night fell and troubles rose, her friend would be there when she needed him.
He gave her the courage to keep fighting, and she learnt to become strong from the outside, as well from the inside. She grew up a little more as she took to face the challenges of life head on.
Somewhere along the way, the little kid grew up into a teenager, who fell in the love with her best friend. She dressed up like a girl so he would and she blushed when he did. In between the storm of cancer, she learnt what it was like, to fall in love.
It came to a point when she felt it hard to breathe without his presence in her life. She learnt to surrender herself to him, because her soul no longer belonged to herself alone. And so the selfish brat learnt what it felt like to share.
She learnt the difference between saying that you love someone and showing them that you do. For there lies a thin line between words and actions. And she learnt that actions are far, far more louder than words.
She grew up into a young woman as she tried in vain to hide from the man who owned her very being. She tried to flee, but well, how far can you run from your destination. Sooner or later, you find your way back home.
And her journey from a little girl to a young woman was complete the day she understood the true meaning of life. That life wasn't just about the number of moments in it; it was about the moments she had lived in. And then she realized that life was complete already. She found peace and contentment at last.
