MAA - Chapter 24

When everyone settled down, akash and payal on a two seater, next to them NK and lavanya who have weirdly gotten quiet comfortable to each other in the span of a day and khushi sat right opposite to akash and payals sofa. Arnav went and quietly sat next to khushi on the small leather lazy boy looking pretty comfortable with being squished to her much to everyone elses surprise, even khushi gaped at the sudden public display of affection.

Arnav: guys theres a reason why you all are called here. Most of you have many questions running in your mind as to how lavanya is my daughter and why mine and khushis life is in danger.

After this statement there was a pregnant pause by arnav as if he didn't know how to continue, suddenly he felt a hand on his folded hands that he had joined while speaking. He turned his face to the right to see khushi giving him a assurance smile, oh how had things changed between them -he thought. He smiled back and looked at everyone, ready to address them with full confidence.

This exchange did not go unnoticed by payal who was just eying khushis hand on arnavs and then their smiles. She smiled inwardly thinking her decision to let arnav stay last night was right little did she know there was a lot more to that story!!

Arnav: when I had come here for further studies to Harvard I met lavanya, I was 19 and lavanya was just the mere age of 13 and about to turn 14. There was a park near my house and I used to go there everyday as u all know I like plants, it was a beautiful park and every day there I used to meet lavanya along with her mother. Call it earning for mother love or the affection lavanyas mother had for me I became quiet close to the two of them. Apart from her mother lavanya had no family. Slowly everything became a routine, me going to the park, lavanyas mother bringing me home cooked food and lavanya playing with her friends. This happened for three years and by the time I was in my fourth year the visits lessened. The reason I was given was work timings but the reality was something else. I looked up the both of them and then located their house. It was in the outskirts of London and when I reached there I realized lavanyas mother, mrs. Singh as I used to call her, was a very poor woman and lived in a slum underground. I … I saw her on the bed … lifele..less.

And then i saw lavanya in a far end crying and she was brutally beaten.

(by this time almost everyone was in tears, lavanya had her face covered with her hands and NK was calming her by running his hand on her back. All khushi could do was clutch arnavs hand tighter, she knew she had to be strong and not let the tears fall. Akash was shocked to hear that arnav never told him about mrs singh or lavanya)

When I asked lav she told me that mrs singh had cancer and they did not have the finance to pay for her treatment. Lavanyas dad wanted to sell lavanya and-

(arnavs voice almost broke down, he tried very hard to compose himself, with a squeeze on khushis hand arnav made his way towards lavanya. The moment he sat next to her lav hugged him and started weeping badly.)

Her father wanted to sell her and in return agreed to pay for mrs singhs treatment. They never told me, mrs. Singh thought this would mean that she is using me. I was very mad at her, I always considered her my mother and she never gave me the right to be his son. But then I found her letter, in which she asked me to take care of lavanya and keep her safe. Before I had reached there some guys had come and tried to take lavanya as mrs singh was in a lot of debt. That's when I decided to adopt lavanya legally from her father, paying him whatever amount he asked for and settling mrs. Singhs debts. If only she had told me all this she would have been alive by now. Since then im lavanyas family, her father, mother, brother, friend everything.

Khushi could see the love between the two, she had misinterpreted this love the first time she saw it. She was so wrong about this pure love, the way lav had hugged arnav burying he head in his stomach, she looked so small, so soo vulnerable. And arnav looked like a man holding on to a precious belonging.

Akash: why did u not tell me arnav? U tell me everything!

Lavanya: I told him not to. I knew if u all got to know about his decision u might take him away from me and i became very selfish, I could not lose ASR after losing my mom. Please im so sorry…

With that lavanya started crying again. Khushi walked upto where the duo was sitting and bent down to lavanyas level after all lav was 5 years younger to her and after marrying arnav she will be lavanyas legal mother.

Khushi: no lav, im sorry, im so sorry for last night. I never thought of such a thing.. it came as a big surprise for me. I didn't want u to reminisce the past u want to forget badly. I –

Lavanya: khushi please don't blame yourself, if I would have been in ur plc I wud have done the same thing... Khushi?

Khushi: hmm!

Lavanya: will u accept me?

Khushi went in a state of shock for a while, after her childish behavior she was being forgiven and also being asked such a thing. Such a big responsibility. The trust lavanya had put into her just now, she couldnt help but cry. A tear drop fell down her eyes and she directly looked at payal, both of them stared in shock seeing khushi crying and then with a 1000 watts force she hugged both arnav and lav. Making it a group hug. Lavanya was now clinging onto khushi and Arnav had the two of them in plc. He bent slightly and whispered to khushi.

Arnav: thankyou!

With that he kissed her ear lobe and broke the hug.

Khushi: ok guys, all of you are forgetting something, we r here to decorate AR designs London office, so please lets get back to work.

NK: perfect, im so happy my jalebi will be decorating mine and my teddys office.

Khushi: teddy?

For a moment lavanya thought she couldn't breathe. She nudged NK with her foot warning him.

NK: teddy= nanav= arnav (he said covering it up)

Arnav: what the! EN KE!!

NK: oopps im so dead.

NK ran out of the room to get out of the situation and not get asked more questions. The others started laughing but payal had yet again observed another thing about her other best friend. She couldn't believe her eyes, what was happening under her nose. First khushi then NK..

She had to do something to get these two to confess their sins…

Payal: god "castle" is getting to my head. *payal murmured with a small smile on her face*

By now arnav was looking at khushi and lavanya having some animated conversation on colors and themes and he was glad that the women in his life were happy.

WOMEN… oh crap he has left 2 women back home too, he remembered and called home.

Anjali had gone to the kitchen to make tea for her mom who was surprisingly home in the afternoon and Rodger uncle when the phone rang.

Rodger: hello.

Arnav: umm.. whos this?

Rodger: you called, so I would appreciate if u answer my question first.

Arnav: this is my house I have called into, who are you and what are u doing at my place *arnav could not control his anger now*

Rodger: relax lad, this is rodger speaking and im a guest here, invited by anjali dear. Now would u mind telling me ur name.

The moment arnav heard Rodger he went numb, he couldn't believe that man was in his house, DI was with HIM… it was afternoon and mom and dad were not home. HIS DI!

Anahita snatched the phone from his hand and replied to the call.

Anahita: excuse me…… hello!

Arnav: MOM! *He slightly whispered*

Anahita couldn't believe what she heard. Anahita glared at Rodger who stepped away and went to sit in the living room.

Anahita: Arnav….

She sounded so helpless, her surprise, her love, her sadness everything was evident in her voice. And that's when arnav realized his mother knew EVERYTHING which meant he had to fix EVERYTHING.

Arnav: ill fix everything.

He said in a confident and determined voice.

Anahita couldn't stop her tears, even after years of gap and mistreatment her SON understood her.

Anahita: I love u!

Arnav: I love u too MAA!

And that one word was the last straw anahita was holding onto. She collapsed on the floor crying like a mad woman and all arnav could do was cut the call and look for khushi. He NEEDED khushi NOW!!!!

ok so ill be updating every week now, i know i know.. but i have alot of work piled up.

NO i will not stop writing and abandon my FF infact my SS that is "WHO'S THAT BOY" i will try continuing that too.
