The threat in his voice made it evident that he wouldn't hesitate before doing this. She was under him, in his house, on his bed, dressed as a bride. And this person couldn't be trusted at any cost. He was right. She wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him.
She could feel darkness in front of her eyes, as he uttered those shameful words. Just when she felt that was going to faint, he left her with a sudden jerk. It took her some time to recover. Quickly, she spread her dupata around her to hide herself from his hungry eyes.
"You said that you would die rather than spending a minute with me." His voice was little agonized but it was also harsh at the same time.
"Did you really mean that?" He looked away and chuckled. She wasn't sure that what she should answer, if lying would be the best option or she should tell him the truth.
"Answer me!" He raised his voice and she nodded her head slightly to indicate yes.
"Liar," He glanced into her eyes directly and she lowered her head immediately. Maan lifted her chin to look into her eyes.
"Tell me, do you really mean it?"
"I.." She stammered because she knew that it was not wise to make him more furious. But he was adamant enough to know and she knew that he wouldn't settle for anything less than the truth.
"I meant it." She said in a meek voice.
"Here we go. Humans! Big intentions, even bigger claims and a very small heart and even smaller courage.." He said but her eyes reflected that she was still not convinced.
Taking a deep breath, he looked away for a moment. For some unknown reasons, her disgust towards him bothered him. She was the first person in whose eyes he wanted to see something different than disgust and hatred. And this fact only made him harsher, and he wanted to prove her wrong so that he could prove himself right, so that he could find little peace.
"Alright, prove it." He said calmly as he took out his gun from the drawer of the side table and handed it to her.
"Here it is. I say that from today onwards you would have to spend each and every minute with me. You said that you would die instead of spending a minute with me. Now go on and kill yourself..!"
Geet glanced at the insane person and her hands shivered. The cold metal in her hand felt heavier than anything she had ever held.
Geet was gawking at the gun in a shock. She hated violence and she was one of kinds who couldn't watch any sort of violence even on the TV.
"So, where would you like to hit?" He asked rudely.
"Right over your brain, who is compelling you to run away from me?" He asked as his hands guided the gun towards her head.
"Or, right above your heart, who is convincing you to despise me," He asked, placing the gun right above her heart. But she jerked the gun away.
"Finally, you realized that living with me would be better than dying. See, it is not that difficult to breath in the air I have breathed."
Geet kept on gazing at him. The word insane couldn't even do justice to his character. He was more than insane.
"You know, this is the difference between you and me." He walked towards the table and threw the gun lazily.
"When I say something, I mean it. This is what makes me Maan Singh khurana,"
"Always do what you say or this world won't take you seriously and eventually a point would come when even you would also stop taking yourself seriously."
But she failed to understand his implied meaning. He turned around, facing his back towards her. Rising on her feet, Geet quickly ran towards the door. She wanted to get away from there as soon as possible but she didn't realize that the person who could abduct her in presence of hundreds of people wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
Maan smirked when he saw her fighting with the door lock. She was doing her best to open the door.
"You won't be able to escape, no matter how much you try." He said and her movements ceased. But she couldn't dare to turn around and face him.
"What have I done? Why are you punishing me like this?" Geet asked as she pressed her forehead against the cold wooden door.
"Yes, I would punish you, as long as I live, I would never forgive you for what you have done." He said and she realized that he was standing right behind her. She could feel the heat emitting from his body.
"Punishment for what? What have I done?" She asked in helplessness and frustration.
"You mercilessly burned every inch of my existence in a blistering fire in these two days. I want to burn this whole world in it, along with me. I will not forgive you for this, as long as this fire exists." He said but his one hand pressed her tummy so that she was pressed into his body.
"Your voice wakes something in me. Believes me, whatever it is, it's too dangerous, too unsafe and too painful," Geet was standing but was lying on his chest. Her hair was open and his one hand was still pressing her tummy.
"You are burning me even more by barely breathing in my proximity. These heart beats are capable of shifting something inside my chest and I hate it. I want to hate you...half as much as I hate myself."
"I will never forgive you for this as long as the word hatred exists,"
"The way you are affecting me with your eyes and with the fear in your eyes, I will never forgive that."
"Believe me; I will never forgive you,
as long as this world exists,"
There was a madness and obsession in his voice. From the moment he had met her, his world was changing, and this fact was taunting the devil inside him.
"I don't understand you. You just left me, when you could have done anything. You could have ruined me but you didn't. What do you exactly want from me?"
"Yes, I want to ruin you. But I want to ruin you more than that. Few minutes back, I could have ruined your body, anyone could have done that. And I am not anybody, I am Maan Singh Khurana. My desire is to ruin your heart, your soul, your everything. I want to ruin you to an extent where you will find peace nowhere but to burn in this fire along with me, on your own accord."
He made no sense to her, neither did his words.
"Don't think so hard, you would have plenty of time for that. Let's have dinner now." He said as he opened the door and made her walk towards the other room. He was holding her as if she was made of glass and would break if he didn't handle her properly.
He made her sit on the table and gestured her to continue. Geet didn't want to eat. She felt like breaking everything. She hated being commanded like that. All the events from the night flashed in front of her.
"Eat," He said but his voice was lost in the hazy state of her mind. She was sitting like a statue, unable to eat or say anything.
"I said eat," He pressed her but she held her throbbing head between her palms. Everything was fuzzy, mixed with his voice in the background. All the incidents of the nights flashed in front of her eyes.
"Eat," His voice was high and she failed to take it this time.
"Stop it,"
"I said, stop it," She yelled helplessly in frustration and the next moment she threw everything from the table. Whole table was a mess and she gasped when she realized what she had done.
What would he do now? Her heart lurched at the thought as she rose on her feet. Maan's eyes were spitting fire. She walked backward clutching her dupata, right above her heart.
