Late Yash Ji gave us many classics mainly Lamhe, Chandni, Ittefaq, Silsila, Dhool ka phool, dtph and darr etc.

But he also delivered some duds that were not at all upto his own set standards, I won't go for the oldies like Faasle etc coz very few here knows about post 80's movies so I am choosing three of his films from 80's , 90's and post 2000 which I think were his weakest directorial ventures due to many reasons, and watching these films never gave u a feeling that u r watching a Yash Chopra film.

plz choose out of these 3 considerably weakest directorials of Yash Ji and comment which one u think is the weakest one, and why.
Vijay (1988)

Parampara (1993)

Jub tak hai jaan (2012)

ps: Its a mis-conception that Parampara was not directed by Yash Chopra.. u can do ur research on internet, and even can watch the movie title itself that clearly states directed by Yash Chopra.

Also this thread is NOT based on JTHJ or bashing it, as I honestly felt (being a big fan of late YC) that its among the weakest projects & directorials and my I chose 3 such films from his career which I think were the weak links in his otherwise exceptional directorial filmography.
So plz, no fn fights over this topic, as this thread about asking members on his weakest films' out of these 3, and its not solely on jthj or on srk by any means, so kindly do consider it before thinking too much into the topic before posting.

Weakest Directorial:

1. Paramapara
2. Vijay
3. JTHJ

Parampara more than direction it was poor script which did it in. Nothing new in that story between Aamir-Saif-Raveena-Neelam. Same old stuff.

Only thing i loved in Vijay was Meenakshi.

JTHJ had too many loopholes for my liking. Weak script and screenplay. I think Yash Chopra got stuck into his image of being King of Romance which is a tragedy.

Yash Chopra was at his best making hard hitting movies with undercurrent of Romance and Emotions.

Jthj is first on my list to the worst projects of YC. no offence to anyone, i wanna clear myself that is the film got good reviews from critics who have 2star as gift/honor bt remember great ppl has worst memory.so its for me a disaster.they kept Anu part after interval so that ppl watch the film till then bt if Anu part would come first ppl would left theatre without watching second part

I agree about Parampara...
but I also want to mention that the script was not bad, the main problem I noticed was the weird allocation of screen time to the actors... the old generation was there for like 2/3 (65%) of the movie and raveena aamir neelam and saif's part came just when the film was more than half done..
also the depiction was really incoherent & bumpy...
it could turn out a great movie, but sadly the bad screenplay, faulty script and incoherent direction made it a bad choice to watch.

ps: I love all the songs of parampara and its picturization especially "aadhi raat ko" and "phoolon kay iss shehr may"

Music of Parampara is way better than JTHJ. Shiv-Hari gave great music for Yash Chopra movies.

Parampara. It was such a bore. I haven't watched JTHJ, but I know what would be there in it, so the lesser said the better.
