Thirteen
NK smirked fondly, enjoying the emotions his Bhabi must of felt
'Yes, we all have dates, and like I said you should bring a date with you too' NK urged
'Is it compulsory?' Khushi questioned kindly
'Well, not really...' NK trailed off, Bhabi was an exception because she shouldn't be with anyone but Arnav anyway.
'Then I choose not to take a date thanks' Khushi told adamantly before she dismissed herself; her work hours now up. NK smiled and headed up to Arnav's office knowing he'd probably be finishing off too now.
'Has she gone home?' Arnav aksed, the urge to know everything about Khushi so vivid.
'Yeah. She's a really good project manager Arnav, so good that the Khuram company demanded that she comes along to the party tomorrow night. They said she's the reason we have this deal clear in hand' NK told, Arnav wasn't yet aware that Khushi was going to the party too. But as soon as he noticed the playfully intentions NK showed, he smirked
'So you told her about my date then?' Arnav said
'Yeah, and she most definitely wasn't happy about it' NK told excitedly
'That's exactly what I wanted to hear' Arnav said, a hopeful spark lighting his instincts, she definitely loved him whether she realized it or not.
'She did say that she's not going to bother to bring a date either, lucky butt. She's loyal even after divorce' NK said laughing, it warmed Arnav's heart
'Yeah well it's not like I'm cheating or anything though? I'm single but I need to make her realize she loves me and this is a way to do it' Arnav told, NK winked
'Bring on tomorrow night then'

The next evening, Khushi sat in her room applying mascara to her eyes for the party when her mother walked into the room.
'Are you getting ready for the party?' Garima asked softly
'Yes Amma, it starts in an hour' Khushi responded just as sweetly, Garima smiled and sat down on the bed watching her daughter.
'Khushi, as your mother, can I ask you something?' Garima asked, the same question had been pondering around her mind for quite some time now.
'Sure Amma, what do you need to know?' Khushi wondered, still focusing on her eyelashes
'I, erm I wanted to ask you about Arnav' Garima said a little uneasily trying to make sure she treaded very carefully in this territory. It was still a fragile topic between mother and daughter. Khushi gulped before she nodded in approval, showing her mother she was ready to once again bring up the subject.
'Khushi, I know what you did was for our benefit but even though you were married to him for an extremely short period of time he was still your husband. Now you are working for the very same man, don't you feel... out of place?' Garima suggested, eager to know what her daughter was feeling, she yearned to share the bond, to make her daughter trust her with her heart. Khushi sighed and sat down on the bed beside her mother, a saddened look in her eyes.
'Amma, everyday I walk into that office and each day I become even more nervous. Although there was no connection or lust between us as a couple, we... well we still had a few, urm special moments together. Every time I look at him I remember those moments we shared but Amma, this marriage was never real and there really wasn't much ground to stand on. So how could I stay with him? I know nothing about him, nor his personality so being in a marriage was haste. It takes time Amma' Khushi said hesitantly but speaking with complete honesty
'Khushi, do you think you would move on from this all? I mean, if you were to get married again, will you be able to completely forget him?' Garima asked concerned. Khushi wasn't giving her the answer's she wanted. Garima was aiming to find out if Khushi felt anything for him.
'If that's what I have to do then I'll have to do it won't I?' Khushi replied bluntly, Garima smiled and drifted her gaze, Khushi put her hands on top of her mothers.
'You're my Amma, and I know you want to ask me something else. Why are you hesitating; it's your right to ask me anything you want' Khushi said assuringly, Garima's heart smiled.
'Khushi, did you not feel anything for him? Not ever throughout all of this?' Garima urged
'Maybe, It might have been because I was his wife at the time but... well yeah' Khushi answered truthfully giving her mother a soft smile before she got up to get ready again, that was the strongest answer she could give considering how confused she really was feeling.

Arnav opened the Porsche door and let in his date for the night, Malaika
'Nice to see you ASR, it's been ages' Malaika said leaning over and hugging him, he stiffened till she pulled away. Arnav wore an Armani suite with a deep red tie, his hair not gelled tonight which made it look soft but dashing. Arnav Singh Raizada looked like always, handsome.
'Nice to see you too' Arnav said getting into the driver's seat and starting the car, before driving off to the function. Within an hour they reached the Khuram's mansion parking up with the rest of the expensive cars on the side. Akash and NK had already arrived before them. Maliaka stepped out of the car and hooked her arm through Arnav's. He felt extremely uncomfortable but didn't push her off either. The things he had to do for Khushi...
The pair greeted the hosts and other guests before they sat down with NK and Akash who had also come with their dates. Arnav leaned in towards Arnav
'Has she come yet?' Arnav asked restlessly, NK frowned till he spotted something in the distance, instantly lighting up his face
'Speaking of...' NK trailed off as Arnav followed his gaze to the entrance. Khushi walked in through the big doors in a long, figure-hugging silk black dress down to her feet. The back was net, finishing with a long tail following her as she walked. Her hair was tied up in a neat bun. Her lips were a deep red lipstick color as were her cheeks, Khushi's eyelashes were long and defined. Arnav got out of his chair in trance as he freely drank her appearance not realizing Malaika's confused expression. Khushi looks so beautiful that it was difficult not to stare, and making Arnav feel even better was the fact that her look and colors coordinated him so well. They truly looked like husband and wife.
'You're staring Arnav, people are looking at you' NK pointed out standing up beside him
'Let them look' Arnav said subconsciously as he watched Khushi meet and greet people, her smile just exploding his heart into confetti. Khushi walked around a little bit before she finally came face to face with Arnav she gave him a warm smile and began to walk away.
'Bhabi stop!' Akash said accidently, biting his tongue straight away as he saw Malaika's and Khushi's face stare down at the three boys in shock. Both NK and Arnav smacked him around the head.
'Bhabi? What the hell is going on?' Malaika asked bewildered. Khushi stared at Arnav's date, she looked so gorgeous and slim, Khushi eyed her with jealously not aware who Arnav actually found gorgeous.
'I-I mean Miss Gupta' Akash corrected, Malaika let out a breath
'Thank God' She mumbled before she entwined her fingers with Arnav as a show of possessiveness. Khushi's blood boiled as she formed a fist out of her hand, any more closer to Arnav then she swore she would of punched her then and there. Arnav smirked as he inhaled the aura of her jelousy, it was all the most vivid as the flames burnt deeply in her eyes. Her pulled Malaika closer to him only to find Khushi look even feistier, she looked like she was going to pounce on the poor girl any second now.
'I erm, I should go and find a table...' Khushi said miserably, instantly making Arnav soften
'Why don't you sit with us? Since we are all from AR designs, and frankly the only people you're going to know here' Arnav suggested sweetly, Khushi thought for a second before she composed herself and sat down between Akash and Arnav. The group sat patiently as dinner was served. Khushi saw the ice cream dessert and squealed inside, she loved ice cream and didn't hesitate before she quickly picked up a plate and dug her spoon in it. She took in a mouthful enjoying the heavenly taste of vanilla and syrup. Arnav watched her lovingly, she was so cute and she made him smile, as she took her first bite a drop of ice cream sat on the corner of her lips.
'You've got a little...' Arnav begin pointing to her lips, Khushi tried wiping it but missed the spot. Arnav leaned over and wiped the ice cream off her lip slowly with his thumb, endulging in the soft, but electrifying touch of her lips. Khushi couldn't move. Her heart failed to move away from the sensational feeling going through her at that very point and Malaika watched them very enviously. As if on queue the slow music began and Malaika felt relieved.
'Come On ASR, can we have a dance?' Malaika asked as she pulled at Arnav's sleeve and brought him up to the middle of the hall, ready to slow dance with the rest of the couples. Arnav hesitated before he put a hand on Malaika's waist, forcibly dancing with her. Khushi went red and was even more angrier then before. Before she could get up a dashing young man walked over to her, smiling kindly.
'Hi, I'm Aman, I've been watching you since you came in and I must say you look beautiful. Is it okay if I can escort you for a single dance?' Aman asked, Khushi smiled warmly and nodded handing her hand in his as he led her to the middle of the hall. Arnav watched suspiciously as they began to dance and laugh and have a good time, it annoyed him but that's exactly what he had done to her wasn't it? Malaika and Arnav also followed to do the same and out of the heat of the moment Malaika leaned in and kissed Arnav on the cheek, making sure that Khushi was watching. Arnav stepped back from her bewildered before he turned his head around to Khushi who was in shock. Before the tears welled up in her eyes were about to fall, Khushi ran off the dance floor and down to the girls toilets. Arnav moved away from Malaika instantly, guilt and anger rushing through him as he jogged his way down towards Khushi. Arnav spent half an hour looking for Khushi, she wasn't in the toilets nor was she anywhere around it. After looking for so long Arnav heard a hiccup in the corner near behind him, he turned around and found Khushi sitting at one of the back tables with 6 empty wine glasses in front of her, she was looking totally tipsy.
'Khushi, did you drink?' Arnav asked in shock as he walked towards her.
'Yess! Sho What?' Khushi said, her voice sounding so childish and cute, Arnav sighed and sat down beside her before he held her hand
'Khushi are you okay?' Arnav questioned referring to the scene in the hall, Khushi frowned as she looked up at him
'Were you trying to make me jealous Arnavji?' Khushi said, Arnav felt so amazing when she called him 'Arnavji' it had such closeness and belonging to it.
'I guess, maybe I was' Arnav replied truthfully, knowing she wouldn't remember anything in this state.
'When Malaika was close to you, do you know what it made me want to do?' Khushi said painfully,
'What?' Arnav looked at her in question and she instantly smiled before she leaned in and planted a small sweet kiss on Arnav's lips.
'That' She whispered.

Thank You for reading. I wasn't going to give you guys a chapter like this but the news about Barun and Gul and cast made me really upset and i was realy heartbroken by it, so to cheer you guys up; here's a sweet little chapter, hope you enjoyed it<33
