I think he wants to keep Arti happy and wants to make her feel that it was not mistake and sin what thye did. He is still suppressing his actual passion for her. Some of his feelings are out of obligation for his status as husband and his realization that venting and raging about act was not the solution was his repentance consequence is in front of him. His approach and action led Arti to be in the state she is . Now he feels responsible towards her and wants to take care of her. Probably he feels obligated a little. All this still has to turn into love for her and just not her presence around him. He still hs to let go of his inhibition to express passion openly.
