Disclaimer: I have never heard Sapna say she was a woman libber, but I assume she considers herself one.
Who epitomises woman libber for you - Urvashi or Sapna.
On the one hand we have Sapna, who leads a bohemian lifestyle, is covered by tatoos, has been married 3 times, has been into drugs, is passionate, takes up on someone like Salman, speaks up when a tapori like comment like "fresh fruit" is said to a woman, is an emotional wreck, screams, jumps, cries, gives haircuts, gets totally attached to Aseem, goes against the only person who had the conviction and guts to stand up for her, abuses woman, makes vulgar signs (though haven't seen the epi yet, but tht's wat UD accused her of) - a bundle of contradictions.
Then we have Urvashi, a single mother of two 17 year olds who has been supporting herself and her family since she was a kid hersellf, acts as vamps in soaps, trying to sustain herself in the very unpredictable world of TV and acting, stoic, very sorted as she knows tht she's in the BB house to play games and earn money and hence survive as long as she can, mostly grumpy, irritable but really controlling herself apart frm tht one outburst - very focused.
For me UD epitomises woman liberation, though I'm sure tht is not even somethg she considers herslef to be. It's like life gave her lemons and she decided to make lemonades. Whereas Sapna being a non-conformist has the urge to rebel, but isn't very crystal clear abt wht? Now probably she has got a cause, she'll probably join Aseem's cause.
P.S.: This is not a bashing thread for anyone, so don't make it into one.

Khamossh ji, I guess it depends from person to person and how they relate with these two women. I for one like them both for their certain qualities. I shall add more in a bit 😎

How about, to each his own.

Feminism is so broad that it means different to different people. I think the key is "empowerment'. If a woman feels that her choices make her feel empowered, she is liberated in my opinion. Whether that be, for example, by shedding her clothes or conversely by completely covering herself up. In that respect, both Sapna and Urvashi are liberated in their own way.

@ Bold - exactly and dat's y I have posted it as a question coz I just want to know other's POV. Actually most of us, including myself, by default think of Sapna as the epitome of woman liberation. But then I thought of UD and felt she was more befitting. That's all.😊

Both have courage of conviction and the audacity to stand up to any and everyone. They are not doormats.

I have immense respect for Urvashi for giving birth to twins at 17 and raising them as a single mother. It could not have been easy. All single mothers get my vote. As far as Sapna is concerned, it could not have been easy for her either. I am pretty sure she feels like a stranger in her own skin especially when surrounded by those deeply rooted in conservatism. She does not relate to those around her, she is different without trying. She is twisted and vulnerable at the same time.

Both are like wounded doves for me but with a spirit of a resilient, fiesty hawk. They are strong, unorthodox women that have made mistakes but held their heads high and walked out without shame. I like and respect them both from that perspective.

I respect both the women. Urvashi for single handedly bringing up her kids and providing for them. She has gone through a lot and is still standing with her head held high and I salute her for that. She made a mistake in her teens and instead of running away she actually brought her kids into the world and nourished them.

Sapna on the other hand is hyper but at the same time cool. She can stand up for you if she feels. She stood up for Sampy when she was crying and saying she wants to go. She was the only one who told Sampy she will help her. Now this is another thing that Sampy back stabbed her.

When it comes to Urvashi and Sapna I can't really choose between them. I like both of them for different reasons. And I don't think I can contribute much to this thread today. Would have loved to though.

Here are my two cents on both ladies. For me I admire them both and I can see the similarity as well even if look-wise they are on extreme ends.

Both these ladies do not hesitate to call a spade a spade. They both have the courage to stand up for themselves.

Sapna, I like her for her guts to stand up against someone like Sallu, someone against whom people haven't even raised a voice until this season of BB. I also like the fact that she isn't apologetic for the way she looks or acts. I mean we are told that we should believe in ourselves and live without caring about others no matter how we look on the outside. But do we really do that, some might, but most of us, we try every day to fit within the society, some even go through depression and bullying for being different. So when I see Sapna in the house, roaming guilty free and proud for the way she is, I see a message there. Thus, even if one can't hear her say anything on women liberation, I can see it by her mere presence in the house. That is applaud worthy and inspirational, at least to me and others who relate themselves being the "misfits" of the society.

Urvashi, I like her for her straight up attitude. She has good head on her shoulder and seems to have an eye for judging people. She is someone who teaches us not to rely on anyone but ourselves. End of the day, our problems will be ours and not anyone else's. She went against the norm of the society to make a life for herself. Being a single mother with twins in India isn't a laughing matter. Courage and guts are needed to face people everyday of her life. Even she isn't apologetic for being herself or her lifestyle or her decisions. She is an independent women and sends out message that today's women do not have to rely on anyone including her husband for a good life.

Anyways, so for me both these ladies have great lessons of life which I am sure many of us can relate with.

I agree with every word of yours Chandramukhi!! I love the attitude of both the women. And I like Urvashi's attitude of not getting emotional with any of these. She knows not to make a fool outta herself. I love how Sapna stands up for herself and is not ready to take anyone's bull shit lying down. Okay I guess I am re-iterating whatever you said so I will stop now. But I agree with each word of yours.

Nicely written...👏
Agree with Urvashi part...She had a tough life but is never seen trying to get mileage out of it...She does epitomise the single mother and is fiercely independent...And she does what she says and plays the game in the true spirit...
