Okay, here goes another part. Hope you guys like it.

Part 3

Chottu and Shree looked at Arjun then at Rathore and the woman standing next to him. They both looked at each other then turned their heads again toward the woman. There was something so familiar about her but neither could put their finger on what it was. In the meanwhile they both wondered why Arjun was so angry. They both stayed silent and waited for the drama in front of them to unfold.

Priya had been prepared for this exact reaction from Arjun so none of her inner turmoil was visible when she saw him for the first time after almost three years. Her heart clenched painfully when she saw the anger on his face and the pain in his eyes that he was unable to hide for the few seconds.

It was hard to see him in this condition; it was hard to believe that this was the same Arjun who had befriended her during their training days at the Academy. This Arjun looked as if he had never smiled in his life. She had heard that he had gone rouge but had not believed it but judging by the way he was shooting daggers at her all the stories she has heard about him in the past two years must be true.

"Is it not obvious Raute?" Sameer responded, "Priya is our new research specialist along with a forensic expert."

Priya was bit shocked by the formalities between the two men who used to be close friends. Back in their training days they had been inseparable so why the difference now? Could what happened three years ago destroyed their friendship also?

"Over my dead body," Arjun shouted making Priya face him with a raised eyebrow.

"Well if you don't calm down Arjun it won't be long before we are all standing over your dead body and all of our problems will be solved." Priya said making Arjun's eyes flare up with temper even more. She could see the nerve in his jaw twitch visibly as he clenched his teeth to keep himself in control.

Chottu and Shree were gaping at the new comer and wondered if she knew what she is doing and whom she is dealing with here. They both realized that they were both in for some major fireworks judging by the tension among the three people who obviously knew each other in the past.

"You forget Ms. Priya, I am already dead; I died the day you helped kill my wife." Arjun said coldly.

Priya held up her hand to Sameer when he started to answer Arjun, she then walked over to Arjun and stood in front of him with arms folded across her chest, mimicking his exact pose and spoke to him just as coldly "Did I really Arjun? I see you still haven't managed to extract you head out of the sand even after three years."

Arjun uncrossed his arms and leaned down to intimidate Priya, who refused to budge and waited for his response. "I was there Priya, I know what I saw or rather what I didn't see."

"Yes I know what you saw, what was shown to you but you still don't know what happened before your precious Roshni was killed." Priya was quickly losing control and was glad when Sameer stepped up to them.

"Enough both of you," Sameer said trying to stop Priya from shouting everything out all at once, "we are not here to rehash your past. He addressed Arjun in a stern voice, "if you have a problem with Priya being here then take it up with the commissioner."

The door buzzed just as Sameer finished speaking and to their surprise they saw the commissioner standing at the door when Shree pulled up the CC camera screen. He immediately buzzed their boss in and they all waited for him to join them in the conference room.

Sameer greeted the commissioner first. "Sir is there something urgent you needed to discuss with me? You should have called me; I would have come to your office."

"No Sameer, nothing urgent," the commissioner reassured him. "Actually I knew Priya was joining office today so I wanted to welcome her and I also need to speak to Arjun about something."

Commissioner then glanced at Priya and Arjun and thought he was bit late in arriving judging by the tension in the room.

Arjun realized he had no choice but to accept Priya as part of the team but that didn't mean he had to like it. He will try to get commissioner to change his mind at the first opportunity.

"Priya welcome to our ETF team," the commissioner said as he walked towards her. "I hope you are settled into your new place without any trouble."

Priya smiled slightly in greeting. "Thank you sir, yes I am well settled into my new place. Thank you for suggesting the place."

Commissioner nodded his head then looked at Arjun next and his smile faded when he saw the anger and frustration on Arjun's face. He knew Arjun was feeling as if they have betrayed him but they had done this for his own good and the commissioner hoped that Arjun understands this someday. "Arjun I need to speak to you about an important matter."

Arjun nodded and lead the commissioner out of the conference room. Priya waited until they were all the way out of the room before pulling out a chair to slump into. She felt Sameer squeeze her shoulder in reassurance and sat up straighter.

"Chottu and Shree, this is Priya, our new research specialist I told you about. Priya this is Chottu our commando," Sameer said pointing to the big man with a ponytail, "And this is Shree, our technology expert." He pointed to the man with curly hair and glasses.

Priya smiled at them both and extended her hand in greeting. "It is nice to meet you both. I am sorry you had to witness that scene but I assure you only Arjun brings out the worst in me otherwise I am easy to get along with." She said with a smile.

Chottu and Shree gasped when they saw a dimple appear on Priya's left cheek and realized that Priya reminded them of their Riya. Other than the smile and the similarities in their names the two women were as different as day and night yet they felt as though Priya would be able to fill some of the void that had been left by Riya.

Rathore relaxed when Chottu and Shree greeted Priya warmly and started telling her about their recent case. The first hurdle was over but things are not going to be easy as Priya and Arjun will butt heads at every opportunity. Arjun is going to soon realize that Priya is no longer the quiet girl he had befriended many years ago. He just hoped that Arjun starts to realize that the real Priya is the one he met at the Academy and not at all like what he was made to believe her to be.

Meanwhile in Arjun's office Arjun was trying his best to get the commissioner to change his mind about recruiting Priya for their ETF team but the commissioner refused to budge on the issue.

"Look Arjun I understand that Priya reminds you of the painful time in your life but if we are to track Sikandar then we need her and her expertise on Sikandar's organization. She worked as undercover agent in that organization for almost a year and knows the way he works." Commissioner reasoned.

"I am very well aware of this sir and that is the main reason I don't want her around. She should have been there when Sikandar kidnapped Roshni." Arjun said fiercely.

Commissioner wished he could tell the real reason why Priya hadn't been present when Roshni was killed but unfortunately Priya had made them promise not to say anything to Arjun and he still wasn't in sound mind to listen to the truth or even if he listened to the truth he still wouldn't believe it. It is best to try to keep tracking Sikandar's moves and for them to be with Arjun when he finally catches up with Sikandar to make sure that Arjun's illusions are not shattered.

"Arjun just trust me when I say that Priya's presence is very necessary to catch Sikandar and you have waited long time to catch him, just give it a chance and try to get along with Priya please." Commissioner said before making his way to the door. "I will let you know when I learn something more on Sikandar and his whereabouts." He said before walking out the door.

Arjun leaned back on his desk after the commissioner left, his sharp mind rationalized that there is more to it than the explanation that the commissioner just gave him regarding the reason for Priya joining the ETF team.

Arjun placed his palms on his desk as his eyes darted from here to there clear indication that his sharp mind was processing information while trying to figure out if what he knew was the truth or there is more to Priya's disappearance on the day Roshni died. What had happened on that day before he arrived at Sikandar's place? What did he miss that day that he is still missing today?

Whatever the reason Arjun could never forgive Priya for disappearing on that day. He was her contact during her undercover stint, she should have told him about Sikandar's plans to kidnap Roshni instead of keeping him in the dark about what Sikandar and his men were planning to do.

He will tolerate Priya until Sikandar is found and once he deals with him he will never have to deal with Priya or anyone else again. He just needs to fulfill his promise to Roshni, nothing else matters beyond that.

Short while later Arjun returned to the conference room to see Priya and Shree huddled over Shree's laptop and Chottu looking at them with amusement. Arjun was surprised to see them act as if they had known each other for a long time. "Thanks Priya," he heard Shree mutter with obvious pleasure at whatever Priya showed him.

"What's going on Shree? Have you discovered something new on our two murder victims?" Arjun asked making everyone, except Priya, look up in surprise.

"Not yet sir, Priya was just showing me few national databases where I can easily plug in few details of cases in the databases to get a basic profile of the killer." Shree replied not realizing Arjun was being sarcastic when he asked the question.

"Have we found any common thread between the two victims?" Rathore asked.

"No sir nothing at all. Not only are the two victims different in looks and age but they both come from a different economic status and background also." Shree said.

"That is not the common thread we need to look for Shree," Priya said as she looked up from the notebook in front of her. "They were not murdered because they were connected to one another but because they had something in common or they did something to catch the attention of a killer."

"What are you saying Priya, a possible serial killer?" Rathore asked sitting up straighter.

"It's possible Sameer. No footprints, forced entry, no hair sample not even a clothing fiber that did not belong to the victim was found at the murder location tells me that this was a very organized and well thought out murders. The victims may have even been stalked before they were murdered." Priya said as she stood up to study the pictures of the victims on the board.

"What could the two women have done to send the killer in rage to mutilate them so brutally?" Arjun asked just to test her.

"No telling, it could have been little as bumping into him and not saying sorry or may be he just didn't like the way they talked to him, or he could have just picked them out randomly." Priya answered without looking at him.

"Good to know you don't have all the answers." Arjun said snidely.

Priya finally turned towards him. "I never claimed to have answers right away but I can give you an idea of why and how about certain things."

She signaled Shree to bring up the details of the two murdered victims on the screen. "Based on what I can gather from the murder scenes, the killer was in the victims house for a quiet a while. It looks as though he played with them before killing them."

"We all have concluded all this, give us something new." Again Arjun pushed her but Priya ignored him.

"It is also very obvious both victims were raped before he killed them but again he left no evidence of this, which means he used protection before raping them, this all points to the killer being very organized and disciplined. He obviously knows what type of clothing wouldn't leave any fibers behind, he may have worn protection over his shoes and lack of any hair sample indicates he completely shaved his body hair before committing the murders. Any guesses on what kind of background this person might have to be so disciplined?" Priya addressed her question to Arjun.

"Military or Police is my guess," Arjun said.

"Military more likely than Police," Priya said. "He has done this before I am sure, no one can perfect their technique in just two murders but unfortunately we have no way of knowing when and where he may have started killing women in the past."

"How do we find this killer?" Chottu asked. This was beyond his understanding.

"We have to trace the victims moves for the past month to find a common thread. At one point both of these women has done something to enrage him to kill them and we need to find that one thing. For instance would they have shopped in a same place at one time or had they had an argument with anyone in the past month." Priya again looked at the fact board.

"Something is definitely missing." Priya and Arjun both spoke at the same time shocking the other three people in the room.

Priya didn't dare turn towards Arjun to look at him. She was, in fact, afraid to look at him. She didn't think she would be able to handle the hate in his eyes for her at this moment.

Arjun on the other hand wasn't feeling hate towards her but something entirely different. Just for one moment it took him back to the days when they were friends and constantly challenged each other with one mystery after another to sharpen their skills. This had always been Priya's favorite phrase when something stumped her.
