After the Karvachauth, everyone in Shantivan is disturbed. Everyone is angry on Arnav and Sheetal. Arnav is furious at Sheetal and doesn't even look at her. He is even more angry on Khushi for making Sheetal and Arav stay in Shantivan.
On the other hand Khushi is heartbroken by the fact that Arav is Arnav's son. However, she also realizes that Arnav did neither cheated her nor lied to her about his and Sheetal's relationship as he didn't remember sleeping with Sheetal because he was drunk. She also realizes that whatever happened in the past is not Arav's fault and he shouldn't be punished for all this. So she decides to give Arav the future he deserves as the son of the Raizada family and since she knows that a child can't live without his mother, she lets Sheetal live under the same roof, too.
With the tension increasing in the house, Khushi doesn't want Arav to get affected by it and thus decides to have Diwali function at home. She puts a brave face on and start preparing for it. Anjali and Payal get very upset seeing Khushi showing so much strength for Arav's sake and decide to cherish her sacrifice by making Arav happy. They start helping Khushi in the preparations. Arnav sees this and just leaves from there heartbroken.
On the day of Diwali, guests start coming. Nani and Mami put a smile on their faces and start welcoming them. Mami sees Khushi all smiling and serving sweets. She sees Khushi going to the table and goes to talk to her. She puts her hand on Khushi's head and hugs her with teary eyes. She says that she's proud of her. Mami, for the first time, removes her gold bangles and gives them to Khushi saying Khushi is the best thing that has ever happened to the Raizada family. She kisses her on the forehead and leaves. Khushi feels like crying.
At the function, people see Sheetal and Arav and start asking questions. There are some new people there who doesn't know Khushi is Arnav's wife. They see Sheetal and think that she is his wife since she's more stylish and sophisticated. When Arnav arrives from office, he tries to go to his room directly but a lady(one of the new guests) who's friends with Nani comes to him with Sheetal and bless them for a long and happy life together. Everyone is shocked. Arnav gets angry and says that she is not his wife. He sees Khushi in the corner with tears in her eyes and gets heartbroken. He goes to her, holds her hand, and tells everyone that she is his wife Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada. Nani also tells the guests to think before they speak as she would not allow anyone to hurt her children. The function resumes. Khushi leaves Arnav's hand the same way he left her's at the airport and starts moving away from him. The pain in her heart gets heavier and heavier and she just looks away and goes from there. Arnav wants to run after her but the anger in his heart overpowers the love and pain. He just leaves from there. No one knows what to do.
At night...Arnav, in his room, thinks about the incident and the silent pain in Khushi's eyes. He remembers her smiling face, her mischeifs, her hugs, her kisses, the way she used to blush when he flirted with her, the way her eyes spoke to him, her bubblyness, her chirpiness,her undying love for him, the pain in her eyes when he was wounded...all of that seems to be drifting away from him. He can't bear the pain of losing her, he feels like he'll not be able to survive this silent pain in Khushi's eyes any longer. All of a sudden he turns and sees Khushi staring at the sky. Even in the dark he can see the pain on her face. He is about to go to her, when NK comes to her! He asks Khushi whether she's okay! Khushi doesn't say anything! NK decides to leave her alone for a while and is about to go when Khushi says that she has seen loved ones going away to a place from where no one comes back, she has cried alone in the dark, but has always kept a smile on her face so that no one would feel bad. She laughed, danced, and did all the childish antics to fight her fears and pain! But today she feels like she doesn't have enough courage to fight the pain in her heart. She can't tolerate the fear of losing Arnav! She says that she has sacrificed a lot in her life for others happiness but she can't let Arnav go away from her! She can't breathe without him and just a thought of him being with someone else kills her a million times inside! She breaks down in tears...NK has tears in his eyes, too and is about to put his hand on her shoulder when he sees Arnav longing to come to Khushi! He smiles at Arnav and leaves. Khushi is still crying when the wind blows and she realizes that Arnav is there. She looks at him...he has tears in his eyes and is standing still. They both remember the old moments...their first meeting in Lucknow, Khushi in red saree, their first rain hug, him saving her in that broken house, their first dhak-dhaks, their almost kiss during last Diwali, their dance on Teri-Meri, their first kisses, their wedding at the temple, their first Holi, their Heer-Ranjha act, Arnav's first "I Love You", their first real hug, Khushi dying for him, their almost suhaagraat, the remarriage functions, and their WEDDING.
Khushi can't stop herself and RUNS INTO HIS ARMS! He hugs her back, tight! They immerse themselves into eachother ... listening quietly to eachother's heartbeats!...They separate after a while and Arnav kisses her on the forehead...he holds her hand and pleads her not to go away from him. He says that he can't live without her. He cries his heart out. Khushi can't see him like this. She holds his face and kisses him first on the forehead, then on his teary eyes one by one...and hugs him tight! They feel their heart beat becoming one...they seperate...still close to eachother...lost in eachother's eyes...Arnav comes closer and gently touches her face. She closes her eyes...Arnav lifts her in his arms and takes in the room, lays her down on the bed...closes in for a kiss and...lights out!!!!
