Your epi could not have been more perfect. Arnav sure knows how to use all the tricks in the book, to get what he wants. But he is so tender to her, too! I just love his tenderness and consideration and sensitivity for her. He is so in tune with her and her emotions and feelings!

Chapter 58

Arnav stared at Khushi and she stared back, 'Khushi this is about you and me. Marry me...be my wife and make me your husband' he urged as he pulled her over him and kissed her neck and her throat. 'Let's do this...say yes...' he whispered.

Love burned hot and bright in her eyes and Arnav knew instantly what her answer was going to be as he pulled her head down to his.

'Marry me Arnav Singh Raizada... marry me tomorrow...' Khushi whispered as she pressed her lips against his.

'Khushi...' Arnav whispered against her lips uttering her name with a husky passion that made her ache inside as he speared his fingers through her jet black hair. He pulled her back from him, his brown-black eyes staring at her with such intensity that Khushi could have sworn that that he could see all the way to her soul, which was utterly ridiculous yet it felt so probable. 'Khushi...what have you done to me?' Arnav whispered softly as he drowned in large liquid brown eyes, 'how is it that I've gone from being a man that has never bothered to love anyone, never wanted to care for anyone...never ever changed for anyone regardless of who they are... to a man that has done every one of those things AND has hit a point where I cant even deal with the thought of spending one more day without you by my side?' he asked genuinely perplexed. 'I've always thought that all this talk about love, that one person has the power to change another human was the biggest load of bullcrap that I had ever heard. I mean my own Nani and Di kept telling me about it time and time again... and then you come along and turn my world completely upside down... make me question every single belief I hold, make me do things I never ever dreamed that I would do... forget do things, Khushi you make me dream about the future...your and my future. Our future,' he said huskily with a shy smile.

Yet once again that evening, Arnav had managed to completely astound her with his words. Khushi leaned forward and rested her elbows on his chest and she crossed her arms as Arnav reclined on the sofa. She took a deep breath as she looked straight into his eyes, 'Arnav, to say that you've never bothered to love anyone, never wanted to care for anyone never ever changedfor anyone is not true,' she said quietly. 'If that was the case you would have made a success out of AR Corp and simply walked away from your family. Instead you became the head of the house... the provider in your home. As for not bothering to love anyone, you don't show it but it's so very clear just how much you love and respect Nani-ji. I've seen it first hand Arnav; you adore her just as much as she adores you. Maybe in time you need to show her your affection...' Arnav opened his mouth, but Khushi placed a finger against his lips 'Arnav, when my own babu-ji and amma died, I was scared...no petrified...of loving anyone else just in case they too left me. Maybe you are the same. I said this to you last night, I love you and I need you just as much as you think you need me, so I have no intention of voluntarily leaving you...ever and those thoughts that you harbour...of losing me... get rid of them, completely and forever and if you can, open your heart to those around you...those that love you...' Arnav could only nod silently. Khushi pulled her hand back from his mouth, 'as for dreaming about our future Arnav, now you know why it was so important for me to know about the future of our relationship. You know...as much as I tried not to, I couldn't help but think about our future and for the first time in my life I greedily wanted it all. I want you to be my teacher and continue to guide me so that I can make Jaleebi Junction the biggest success I possible can. Like you I want you by my side as much as possible if not all the time, I want to share experiences no matter how simple or complex with you.' Khushi took a deep breath, 'more than anything, I want my own family... I love my babu-ji and amma more than words can define, but Arnav I dont want to be the orphan child who was adopted anymore...' she whispered as a single tear slid down her cheek.

It literally and physically hurt Arnav to hear that last sentence; the pressure in his chest was almost unbearable and he felt her words pierce through his heart. Arnav slowly pushed Khushi back and then stood up and held his hand out to her. Her moist eyes looked at him questioningly, but she obeyed the request as she stood up infront of Arnav.

'Khushi tonight will be the last time you ever refer to yourself as an orphan...' he said as his dark eyes flickered intensely. 'Khushi I know that you believe in saat phere and the wedding vows which we will say during our wedding tomorrow and I promise that I will respect those vows and rituals of marriage because they are important to you.'

Arnav took a deep breath as he took her right hand in his and placed it above his heart, placing his hand over hers.

'Khushi as far as my vows to you are concerned then I promise you that first and foremost, you are my family and I am yours. Neither you or I are alone anymore.'

'I promise you that when you feel ready for it, we will have the children that you want and you will have a full family of your very own.'

'I promise you that love, communication, trust, respect, balance and common ground are and will always remain as the most important cornstones of our relationship.'

'I promise you that I will always protect you to the best of my ability.'

'I promise that in me, you will always have someone you can talk to...about anything, at anytime.'

'Khushi, I promise you that you will be the only woman who will have my heart... and my body. There will no other.'

Arnav took a deep breath. He didn't need any response from her because for all intents and purposes he was now Khushi's, marriage or no marriage. The wedding itself was just a technicality for him.

As she quietly listened to Arnav, Khushi couldn't help but be overcome by intense love for the man that stood humbly infront of her as the tears began to flow more freely. She was speechless; there were no words to efficiently explain the sensation of being overwhelmed by a force larger than life, a force that would ensure that she was irrevocably joined to this remarkable man for the rest of her days. He really was well and truly hers.

Arnav swept his thumbs across her cheeks 'no more crying,' he told her 'I want a smiling Khushi from now onwards, ok?' Khushi took a deep breath and nodded; Arnav was absolutely right ' it was time to celebrate their love and union now.

Arnav nodded as he bent his head and lightly brushed her mouth with his. He was gone before Khushi could do more than open her eyes and wonder if the kiss had even occurred. Her surprise must have been plainly evident to him. 'Khushi, we are going to behave ourselves until you are satisfied that we are adequately married...so...no more mischief,' he said as his face became serious and he gave her a commanding look that she associated with ASR.

Khushi frowned and then slid her hands under his jacket as she rose to her tip toes and pressed a kiss to his forbidding mouth, 'can you give me one second ASR; you're scary and my Arnav is the opposite so I would like to kiss him once before he disappears into you...' she said with a sassy smile. Arnav's expression softened and he placed his hands on her waist. 'Hey...me and scare you...since when Khushi Kumari Gupta? In any case, I'll have you know that I'm considered to be a very charming and likeble person.'

Khushi laughed, 'Yeah, right...' she said defiantly as she gazed into his eyes and watched the flickering flames in his dark eyes, 'Ok, Mr Nice Guy, are we going to talk all night or can we go to bed?'

His dark eyebrows rose slightly as a lopsided smile appeared on his face, 'are you propositioning me Khushi...after what I just said about behaving?'

Absolutely!' came the reply.

Arnav groaned as he grabbed her hand as he led her back indoors. He came to a stop infront of her door. 'Good night Khushi' he said. Khushi looked at Arnav, her eyes narrowing 'I'm coming with you Arnav,' she said as she looked towards the room they had shared the night before. Arnav shook his head, 'nope... you are staying here tonight Khushi.' Irritation flashed in her eyes, 'Arnav...' she began and was interrupted as he placed his finger against her lips, his voice dropping in pitch as he looked at at her, 'Khushi, you're playing with fire and you know it,' he said huskily, 'I'm being honest with you here; last night we were lucky that we managed to stop when we did. I have frankly hit my tolerance level now and unless you are ready to go all the way right now... have mercy on me and stay here please and after tomorrow, I am all yours but tonight Khushi... you are in this room' he said as he folded his arms across his wide chest.

Khushi looked at Arnav and knew from his expression that it was pointless arguing with him on this. She leaned back and assessed him quietly. As Arnav returned the stare he knew that there was definitely something going on inside that pretty head of hers.

'Well, I guess I understand if you can't handle me anymore...' she whispered as looked at him innocently, her eyes flickering with naughtiness as she threw the dare at him.

Arnav's dark eyes gleamed. 'Haven't I warned you about challenging me Khushi?' he said as he started walking towards Khushi, who in turn began stepping backwards until her back hit the wall. Her breathing quickened with every one of his footsteps towards her, not because she was afraid but because like him, she too had hit her tolerance level. He came to a stop in front of her but didn't touch her. Both waited for the other to break the deadlock. Khushi swallowed; she knew there definitely was a price to pay for challenging him. 'Fine... Arnav, I'll stay here,' she said as sexual desire glinted in her almond-shaped eyes and she pressed her hands to his chest. 'Kiss me and then go Arnav.'

Arnav placed his hand on the wall behind her as he raised his head and looked at her. His thick black hair was no longer perfect slicked back as it had been earlier that evening and several stray strands fell over his forehead. His eyes burned with blatant desire for her. Then he kissed her. Not the soft, tempting kisses like she was used to but a powerful, claiming kiss that forced a guttural response from her throat. His tongue swept across her lower lip, back and forth, back and forth seeking entry. Khushi raised herself, grasping his head as she speared her fingers in his hair and pulling him down so she could kiss him back. She brushed her tongue against his lower lip and when he opened for her, she entered his mouth. Arnav shuddered at the first touch of her tongue against his.Needless to say this was one of the most passionate kisses they had shared to date. Khushi couldn't help but groan in frustration; she needed him... all of him. But instead she pressed her hands against his shoulders, and pushed him away and she whispered against his mouth, 'Arnav... I think you better go before I pull you inside with me...and then you'll be in big trouble...' she said breathessly. Arnav laughed his lips still against hers as he broke the kiss and pressed his lips to her forehead before he pulled back. He gently cupped her face and stared at her.

'Get some sleep Khushi, you're going need your rest...' he murmured, his husky voice low and controlled.

As expected, neither Khushi nor Arnav managed to fall asleep with tossing and turning for a large part of the night.

The morning sun's rays illuminated her face and Khushi's eyes slowly opened as she stirred from sleep. A smile appeared on her face; she was going to marry Arnav Singh Raizada today.

Ok, ok... was feeling a tad emotional... weddings do that to me!!
