OK my take is going to be a brief one - this time I am going to do a short take on Pari 😃! I am calling it short because
I am going to focus on her most essential character trait -
ambiiton!!!
Ambition is defined as "an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment: Too much ambition caused him to be disliked by his colleagues."
Pari's ambiition is to be the best RJ and to move up from being RJ to VJ to perhaps an actress or some sort of public media icon!
She went to college to get a degree in public broadcasting (or something similar). She got a job as a RJ and worked while going to college and was good at it too with a huge fan following!!! She made a mark and impressed others!
Pari was not just ambitious - she was hard-working and determined to achieve her goals and move up in her chosen career! She attracted opportunities for self-advancement! Her problem was her naivete - a lack of understanding of the workings of the world!!
So Pari deftly cajoled G3 into allowing her continue her job - until papa Scindhiya caught her red handed and clamped curfew on her! But she was sooo good in her job - that opportunities were drawn to her as iron filings to a magnet. When she lost the Mumbai opportunity - she captured one in Bhopal itself via a producer who was drawn to her!
Now it is good to seize opportunities but it is not so good to have an opportunistic personality. This is where Pari crossed the line - she focussed on opportunities for self-advancement without thinking how it might impact others - her relation with Prateek, SP, G3 and so on. I admire people who take advantage of the opportunities that life provides them but not those who take these opportunities to do unethical things. Pari was no different from me - her conscience smote her. She could not reconcile with hiding the truth of her job activities from the Scindhiya parivaar and promised herself that once SP gets back from Delhi she would tell him all. However her resolution to tell all included another favorite negative trait she had recently acquired - pull down Prateek as shiftless, spineless and undependable!
Unfortunately for her destiny took its own course and soon she had to pay a very high price for her naivete at reading/understanding people. Pari felt she was in control of the situation at SM and of her profession. However in reality this was an illusion - she was very much in need of a shoulder to lean on - a person to depend on. Prateek her natural choice was no longer available as she had, in the heat of an argument, put him down so she turned to her friendly boss - the producer.
Her boss, the producer took advantage of her naivety and supposedly raped her when she was in drunken stupor and (horror of horrors) videotaped her in the CON act!! Worse still - started blackmailing her and tried to molest her when she was alone in her beauty van! One thing followed another and our Pari hit the producer on the head (supposedly fatally) and ran.
Unfortunately for Pari - the person she sought advice - lacked the wisdom to guide her rightly. So now, Pari who is a victim of bad choices and innocent of criminal activity - is being painted as a fugitive of the law with each passing day.
In the next episode or so the police will arrive to fetch her. The evolution of her character remains to be seen. Tomorrow I will do a small write-up on Prateek!
