A simple gift and a thank you from Ahem would have been unheard of from as little as four months ago now he wants give a lot and do much more than he can to his Gopi. Why would he want to do this now? It is all in the name of love.
His life has transformed dramatically recently but one that was slow moving initially. Ahem has proven over these recent months that he does love his wife and he enjoys spending time with her. He has been preparing to become a father and wants to fulfil his duties properly as a father.
What he wanted to do was to be the first person to give Gopi a gift. This he achieved whilst she thought that he had forgotten this for someone else. Further it made his words easier to tell her how he felt.
When it is matters of the heart Ahem comes across as a closed person who is immensely shy. Yes, he has opened up to Gopi but he has a reserved sense still about himself. This is an element of his complicated nature that is rearing its head. As we know he is a person of very few words, here he generated the moment of gift giving to say what his heart felt.
In moments like this he reflects his vulnerable side that is his true self. A man whose love has depth, sincerity and resonance. He had shown this through smiling eyes and his tender touch of her hand in his.
Ahem's pent up feelings were finally released. He walked downstairs a renewed man taking in his family's love for her by watching them busy with preparations. It felt for him as though it was as much as she gives to his family everyday.
How much Gopi dreamt of hearing words like this earlier in her marriage! Having been gone through his emotional upheavals in bearing through his journey of love she finally gets to hear these magical words of thanks. The wait and the timing could not have been perfect as it had been at this moment than ever before. Now she fully knows how he sees her worth and what it means to him.
