Part 1

Garima was not blind to not to see that her daughter was depressed , though she didn't know the reason behind it .,.

Garima know that her work nature and shifts , was somehow distanced her from her daughters.. She felt guilty about that, but she was obliged, she has no choice !.

She waited all these day silently , in a hope that Khushi, that she always know, will return back within few days,, or Khushi, her daughter will come to her and open her heart to her mother .. But none happened .. With every passing day, Khushi status was becoming worse than before ..

She decided to talk to Khushi, not to force her to tell her what was making her like that .. what she wanted was only to have some motherly conversation with her .. She didn't remember the last time when she had from heart to heart conversation with her daughter, Khushi .. and she really missed that ..

She wanted to talk with her about anything .. She wanted to make her know that her mom will be always here for her ..

She walked to Khushi room , She knocked the door and called Khushi , but there was no replay ..

She opened the door, and saw the room empty , She heard some sounds from the bathroom, and she know that Khushi was in the bathroom ..

Garima noticed that the room was a total mess, books, clothes, and many other stuff were spreading all over the room .. She smiled : " I don't know when will she change this habit" .. She organized her desk, cleaned the floor from the small piles of clothes and papers , and then moved to the very messy bed ..

A photo in the bed caught her attention .. She toke the photo and opened her eyes in shock initially ,but soon, a warm smile played in her lips !

"Khushi and .. Arnav !"

She was suspecting that there is something between her daughter and the nice guy " Arnav" since Ishu engagement ! .. She noticed their glances and their nervousness around each other .. she saw Khushi follow him when he received a phone call , and she noticed how happy Khushi was when she returned back ! ..

She thanked the God that Khushi changed her view in men! She thanked the God that Khushi allowed herself to feel the most beautiful feeling , " Love" .. She can see the love and happiness shining from her daughter in the photo .. and from Arnav eyes too ..

" Amma" .. She heard her daughter !

She looked at her , wanting to hug her daughter and force her to share everything about her relationship ..

Garima stood and said : " Khushi ! ... you .. and Arnav ! " She said raising her brow ..

She saw few tears in Khushi eyes and she felt her hugging her tightly ..

Khushi : " Amma .. I'm … I'm …"

Garima with concern : " Khushi !! .. Why you are .. crying ?!"

Khushi : " Amma .. I .. I need to talk you , I need your help ... I need you!"

Garima pulled back , she cupped her daughter face, and saw the tears covering her cheeks .. Garima felt her heart stopped as she saw the amount of pain which was shown in her daughter eyes … She pulled Khushi to her embrace again and said : "I'm here ,, for you .."

They sat at the bed edge facing each other .. 5 minutes passed, and Khushi still haven't said anything .. and Garima with pretended patience , waited for Khushi to open her heart by herself , without pressures ..

Khushi found it's hard to talk about it .. to remind her mother with the painful past that they pretended to, but never forget ! ... During these 10 years , they have never talked about the past as her mother decided to start a new life ... They never mentioned her father or what he did to anyone -except Arnav- .. They pretend that they forgot, but they never did ! .. The shadow of the past never left them ,they were tortured by memories silently , not to show the pain to the others ..

Khushi closed her eyes and prayed for strength for both her and her mother ..

Khushi: "I .. I love him" ..

Garima smiled and waited for her daughter to complete ..

She continued : " And , .. he .. love me ! .. he has done everything , to win my love , to make me change my mind about men and relationships.. to make me accept to be in love .." Khushi smiled as the memories played in her mind ..

" I .. I spent with him the happiest , the most wonderful time in my life … He showered me with love and care ... he tolerated every stupid thing I did to him .. he , he pampered me , he made me feels that I'm his princess and the center of his life ... he understand me without a need to tell him anything … he is …. He is any girl's dream"

" he … proposed to me, and I .. I agreed ...,, and it was supposed that he come with his family here , to ask my hand .. from you …. But .. but …he .. he …. "

She couldn't complete as she burst in tears ..

Garima opened her eyes and said : " But, he what … !"

Khushi still weeping : " He .. He …"

Garima: " Did .. did he .. left you for .. another woman !" .. She closed her eyes holding her breath , wishing that her daughter will negate this .. She know well how it feel, specially when you are deep in love , and the other person promised you many things , then break your heart by leaving you ..

She didn't want her daughter to test and feel this feeling ! ..

Khushi cried more : " No …... He .. he left another woman for me !!"

The relief that Garima felt when Khushi said "No", soon vanished as she heard the rest ! ..

There was a long silence between them .. both in tears ..

Khushi knew in advance that it will affect her mother .

Her mother was madly in love with her father .. She love him to the extent that she was ready to do anything for him, anything ! .. but he left her, deceived her , and at the end she heard him said to another woman " I did all this for you" .. That was the last time, the last scene that she saw and heard him in ..

Part 2

Khushi , after long moment of silence said with a trembling voice : "as he told me that .. I .. I .. decided to end our relationship ... he did that to many girls, he told me that he had many girlfriends previously and he left them …... But I love him mom ... I love him a lot , and I'm sure that he love me …... he told me that he never felt for anyone except me, he haven't know what is love till he met me .. and I believe him .. I believe in his love …...…… but … I'm confused , I'm afraid ... What if love wasn't enough ! What if he left me in future as he left them ... what if in some point he get bored from me …… I .. I will not be able to bear it ! ... I'm scared, very scared from the future !"

She continued with trembling voice: " And also, I .. I cannot be .. a reason of another woman deception ... I cannot built my happiness at the expanse of another woman pain …….….yes I love him , and I cannot live without him ..… but in the same time ,.. I cannot be .. similar to the woman .. that was part of ruining our life ..!! "

Khushi closed her eyes, feeling very weak after saying that .. after referring directly to their past ..

She felt her mother soft hand caressing her cheeks , wiping the tears ..

She opened her eyes, to see her mother smiling warmly through her tears ..

Though the past still has an effect on Garima, but she never let her past to be the main influences to take decisions, or judging people .. Her past never made her blind to see the other sides .. to see the differences between people ..

She know people are different, situations are different , motivates are different ... She know it's not fair for people to make an opinion and judgment about them , based in other people deception .. It's not fair to punish people because of other people mistakes in the past ..

Garima took a deep breath and said : " Khushi.. I understand that .. that our past was difficult, and you want to avoid any potability to repeat any part of it ... but Khushi , Judging people according to our past and experience is wrong , very wrong …. Maybe you found the action, the position somehow similar .. but it doesn't mean that the reasons and the consequences will be similar too …... the context and the circumstances differ and that forced the person to do what he did with different intention from other people who hurt us in the past "

Khushi attention was focused in what her mother was saying …..

" Khushi .. Do you want my help !" Her mother said and Khushi nodded ..

Garima : "Ok .. first , knowing the person background is important before taking any decision and judge him ... So you should tell me every thing about Arnav .. how did you met , what he told you about himself .. tell me as much as you know and you can tell me ..."

Khushi nodded, before lying and resting her head in her mother lap .. and her mother started caressing her hair..

Khushi start telling mother her journey with Arnav with the details ..

She told her how they meet , and she told her mother about her working as a waiter in a Cafe , which initially shocked her mother, but very soon she focused her attention in hearing her daughter love story ..

She told her how he kept stalking her to irritate her, how he saved her time over time .. how she started to realize her feeling .. who he made her accept his love .. She told her what he said about his painful past , she told her about his trial to tell her about his relationships before the finals and what was her reaction .. She told her about the many times he said that he changed because of her .. She told her about their last phone conversation ..

She told her almost everything about them ..

Khushi almost forgot her pain and dilemma , and she was enjoying , sharing her love story with her mother, the closets person to her heart ..

It had toke almost one and half hours for Khushi to complete telling her mother the story .. They laughed , they blushed, they felt bad, they allow their tears , and they expressed every emotion , while Khushi was telling the story..

Garima smiled while she was caressing her daughter hair : " What a love story ! .. poor guy , you gave him a very tough time till you accepted his love ! I felt bad for him" she teased her daughter ..

Khushi giggled : " but he deserve it .. he was a monster in our first few encounters"

Garima laughed : " But he changed .. and became your prince charming !"

Khushi smiled warmly .. but soon , the pain appeared in her expression again..

Khushi: " Everything was beautiful, till he told me about his relationships in the past ! .. I hope I knew that previously , I .. I would not allow myself to fall in love "

Garima caressing her daughter hair : " Don't regret living this experience and these awesome feelings.. its beautiful relationship .. and you can make it (was ), and (still ) beautiful"

Khushi: " I .. I wish if I can .. but …" She said and her eyeballs filled with tears ..

Garima sighed : " Khushi …... We face a very hard time in the past , and you know it better ….. which made you hate men and consider marriage ,nonsense .. ………… and As you told me , Arnav too had a difficult past .. he has faced such a difficult time till he become what he is today …..… his past affected him, just as your past affected you …….. you meet each other, you evoked each other feelings ... You changed and he changed too .. You have changed for each other !"

" Yes he hided the truth from you , but he realize his mistake , and he told you before involving you in a commitment ... Khushi .. if he have any intention to leave you or if he wanted temporary relationship with you, he would not tell you about his past till you get married.. He would bring his family and marry you here, you wouldn't know about his past !! ... But he wanted any potential problem to be sorted out and cleared before marriage , he didn't want any thing to come between you in future ….."

Khushi : " ... he told me ,, that he confessed about his past ... because of the fear of lossing me in future ... But .. but what about the woman that he left for me .. how can I be the reason of her suffering ?!"

Garima took a deep breath , she know how bad it feel when someone leave you , but here, she should keep her feeling aside and think logically.. She know that she maybe will be biased against Arnav's ex-girlfriend , but after all, she is a human, she is a mother .. She is not angel to be perfect !

Garima: " if you believe in all what Arnav told you ! "

Khushi immediately nodded ..

She said : " then according to what he said ,his relationship with her severed since he came her ... he told you that he never loved her ... and she ... ermm ,, do you think if she was in love him, she would tolerate being without him, not talking to him for a months, and that without any valid excuse ?! …… Khushi, you are an adult girl , you know what types of relationships girl and boy can have ... Some relationships have no emotional attachment , it's only based in physical needs of both the girl and the guy, and the both parties know it ….. I'm here not defensing these kind of relationship , but I think Arnav haven't deceived that girl !, the girl know that previously!"

" Khushi .. I know you opinion about these kind of relationships .. I knew how you feel disgusted from men who form relationships in the base of lust .. but Khushi, put in your mind that it was his past ... before knowing you ! ... before loving you , before knowing what love means !"

Khushi thought about what her mother said ,and then she nodded in agreement to what her mother said …

There was a long gap of silence before Khushi said : "I'm .. I'm sure of his love and his faithfulness now, ... But … what I'm afraid of, is the future ... What if he…."

Her mother interrupt her and said firmly : " what if !?!! .. Khushi if our decisions are built based on- what if- we would not do anything ... We will not even ride a car , we will say what if I will be exposed to a car accident ! ... Khushi .. Nothing is guaranteed in the life and in future Khushi ... it is not only because Arnav has a past in relationships , even if he was perfect, free from mistakes in the past and the present, there will be no guarantees for the future .."

Her mother calmed down and fondle Khushi cheeks : " I .. I can lie and till you that everything will be alright in the future .. But no Khushi , I won't lie and .. I want to you to face the reality of the life, to put in your mind that nothing is guaranteed ! every thing can be changed …either positively or negatively , and we should accept that !….."

Khushi confusion increased as her mother said that ! .. She is scaring her from the future , more than how she was before .. !

Her mother continued : " Yes Khushi .. No thing is guaranteed ! .. but Khushi .. You can see in our life many people toke decision about their future without guarantees for the future , and their life become better than their guaranteed past …..…. Our life is on of the examples ! .. I toke a decision to move with you and Sonu to US, without guarantees about anything , many people thought that I will fail and suffer as I don't know how to speak English and I was not educated … but you can see how our life has been changed to the better..it became much better …"

Khushi looked into her mother eyes, she was convinced in what her mother said ..

Her mother continued : " Khushi .. if you see marrying Arnav is a risk … then think , Does your love deserve to take this risk ! Does he deserve that you accept this risk for him ...Khushi, You will not find any tangible guarantees , but you can find these guarantees and security about the the future in your heart, if you trust his love , if you trust him enough…...….this is test of your love, your faith in your love and your trust in him …"

He proved that he love her madly in many many times , that she always felt her love nothing comparing to his' … She always wished if she can do something for her , to make him feel how much she love him , how much she trust him .. as he was doing to her ..

She always said that she know and was sure that he love her, she always said that no one can love or care about her as much as he do... isn't this the appropriate time to prove it , by trusting him and his love !!

" you can find these guarantees in your heart, if you trust his love , if you trust him enough"

and her heart was always in Arnav side .. her heart was always pleading her to end their torture, to overcome her fears … Her heart always says to her that someone like Arnav who did stir her stony heart , who change her views in many things .. can never leave her ….. Arnav, the one who care about her, and her family , who cannot see her in a any kind of pain, who resist his wants because he respect her and her will .. he cannot leave her … Her heart was giving her lot of guarantees ..!

Garima with few tears in her eyes: " I'm sorry Khushi .. I .. I may confused you more .. but I wanted to be honest with you .. I told you my point of view … but the final decision is up to you Khushi … it is your life , and I will not force to do anything " ..

Khushi sat, she looked into her mother face before hugging her ... She has been always proud of her mother, but today, she became prouder ! .. Her mother didn't allow the past to control her thinking , though she suffered as no one did ! ..

Talking with her mother made her feel better, much better than before .. enabled her see things in different way, not only from her past ..Talking to her mother made her sure of her love more than anytime before … Talking to her mother enabled her to take the " right decision" !

Khushi: " No , you didn not confused me .. you helped me to see life from different angle .. Thank you .. Thank you very much .. I'm feeling much much better now .. I'm proud of you mom .. I'm lucky to have a mother like you ,, very lucky !"

Garima smiled and caressed her back : "you don't have to thank me for anything Khushi, you are my daughter , the most important thing in my life ... "

Khushi tightened her hug , feeling very warm and safe in her mother embrace ..

Khushi decided, to make her mother the first one who will know about the decision .. she blushed and said : " I .. ermmm … I will .. I will call Arnav .. and ask him to come her … and bring his family as soon as possible .. " She blushed and tried hided her red face ..

Garima couldn't help but allow her tears to flow freely .. it was happiness tears.. She pulled back and she saw how red Khushi was ..

She kissed her daughter forehead and hugged her again .. She sent a silent prayer to God , to make her daughter always happy ..

Part 3

Arnav was fuming after reading today's newspaper .. Lavanya was very stubborn , through his warnings , she was insistence to do what in her mind !!

Lavanya lied and negated the news of their break up, and she told some reporters that brealing up new was a rumor …

And above that , she gave them an old photo of them, in which Lavanya was hugging him tightly, while he warped his arms around her waist…... He remembered that they took this photo 6 months ago, but she claimed that he was in her apartment yesterday , and they took this photo yesterday ..!

He was walking back and forth , thinking what he should do with Lavanya , " She crossed her limits !" .. If she was in front of him , he would not hesitate to kill her !

He was thinking what he should do now ?! What he should do with Lavanya to make her stop her silly tricks and attempts ?! … he can easily call all some newspapers' editors and ask them write what he want ..and already did that , but he was thinking about a way to stop Lavanya from creating any further problem now and in the future ! ..

Most importantly , he was thinking about how will Khushi feel if she saw him like that with another woman ?! …. what would Khushi thought if she read this news and saw this picture?! .. Would she believe him that Lavanya is lying ?! would she thought that he is deceiving her and Lavanya in the same time!? ..

He sat in the couch and held his head in his hands and took several deep breaths trying to reduce his anger... He was under enough pressure the last few days , thinking what would be Khushi's decision after his confession …

And now , Lavanya added fuel to the fire .. he was thinking about Khushi reaction if she saw the picture, "Would it affect her decision !! "

His restless and nervousness level increased !! ..

The phone ringing tone interrupt his thought .. he was not in mood to talk anyone ,, now, he wanted to think about what he should do to stop Lavanya , and convince Khushi !!

He took his phone angrily to check who was calling him ..

his heart stop beating as he read the caller name .. Khushi was calling him ..!

Her heart pulses increased with each passing second .. she was eager to her his voice that she missed the last few days ..

She was thinking how to start , what she should said first , Should she tease him, and playing with his nerve ,

Or should she tell directly that she have no problem with his past relationship , and ask him to come and take her with him as soon as possible ..

She closed her eyes , waiting to hear his voice, waiting to end their torture !

As much as he waited for her to call him, as much as he checked his phone in the previous days in a hope that she will call him and tell him that she agreed , He was nervous and afraid now .. His heart pluses were louder than the ring tone of his phone ..

He was afraid that Khushi had read the news and saw his picture with Lavanya, which make her take a rush decision based in them ! .. He was afraid that she will listen to his explanation and will not believe him !

He was in enough pain and nervousness right now, he is not ready to deal with her rejection, beside every thing else ..

He decided that it's better to clear the mess that Lavanya created now, and then he will go to her , meet her face to face and heard her decision ! ..

For the last time, he looked at the phone , he was hardly resisting his desire to pick up her call and heard her voice , to reassure that she is fine , without caring about what will be her decision..

but he closed his eyes and resisted this desire .. As the phone stop ranging , he turned off his phone , as he know that she will call him again , and it will be very hard for him to not to pick up, answer her calls and heard her voice !
