10:00am ; Amritsar
Maan knocked a room at the corner of a chawl and a man around 22yrs opened the door. The guy looked at Maan gleefully and the nxt instant hugged him crushing his bones.
"Maan.. Kaha tha tu yaar'?? Aaj yaad aayi meri.. Naa koi phone.. Naa koi message' Bada hogaya toh mujhe bhul hi gaya' Chal andar aa'"
Without letting Maan speak a word he pulled him inside. Maan 1st was delighted to have his friend after so many years. But couldn't get it into actions bcz as of now he was worried for HIS Geet. And only the man infront of him, his childhood friend Gurvinder had answers to his qstns. Without wasting time he directly came to the point.
"Gurvinder.. Geet kaha hai'??"
Gurvinder looked at him baffled and self thought why is he asking about Geet after so many years. Kahi phirse kuch' Nahi! I shouldn't let that happen. He spoke cheerfully without showing any lines of worry.
"Naa gale milna , naa dang se baat' Yeh kya yaar'!!! Waise Dadi Maa kaisi hai??"
Maan understood the tactics Gurvinder is going to apply to change the topic but he also was adamnant to get everything out from him.
"Gurvinder' Main tumse Geet ke baare mein puch raha hoon?? Don't try to change the topic.."
Gurvinder felt the heat in his words. But how can he tell him about Geet. Kahi yeh bhi usski family ke saath toh nahi naa. Gurvinder was so much engrossed in his thoughts and so didn't realize that his silence was killing Maan. Maan's restlessness and anger took control over him and in a jerk he shook Gurvinder by his shoulders.
"Gurvinder main tumse aakhri baar puch raha hoon Geet kaha hai..?? Dekh mere sabar ka imtehaan mat lon.. Tell me for God sake Geet kaha hai'"
Gurvinder 1st got the shock of his life when Maan shook him so rudely. Then his qstns, his concern and restlessness towards Geet's whereabout made him worried for his friend. And the next set of qstns made him feel helpless in front of him.
"Bata naa Gurvinder kaha hai Meri Geet..?? Aisa kya hua joh usse tere saath bhagna pada..?? Plz Gurvinder' Main nahi jee saktha usske bina' Be-inteha pyaar karta hoon usse' Plz' bata dein'"
Looking at Maan's despair Gurvinder couldn't stop himself from telling him about that pathetic day. He spoke smilingly yet with a saddened gleam in his eyes.
"Yaad hai Maan' 3 saal pehle maine tujhe phone kiya tha yeh bataane kii Channi aur main finally shaadi karne jaa rahe hain. Par maine tujhe yeh nahi bataya kii hum bhag kar shaadi karne wale thein.. Mujh jaise garib do-kaudi ke insaan ke saath koi kaise apni beti sop deta' Channi ka toh ghar se bahaar jana bhi band kar diya tha' Aisen mein hum logon ke pass ek hi raasta bacha tha' Bhaag jaane ka'!! Maine Channi ko bata diya tha kii kaise bhi kar ke Amritsar pahoch jana, usske baad hum turant shaadi kar lenge' Ussi din jab main jaane ke liyein samaan pack kar raha tha tab'

Flashback
Someone started banging the door loudly and continuously. Gurvinder was hell scared if it had been the villagers then what would he do now. With trembling hands he opened the door only to see Geet. But her condition looked very worse. Her salwar had been tattered, her hair looked messed up and she was panting heavily. Getting worried he pulled her in.
"Geet' Tum yahaan' Iss waqt?? Aur yeh kya haal bana rakha hai'??"
Geet tried calming herself but her ragged breathing were not allowing her to do so. She caught hold of her abdomen and spoke with difficulty.
"Gu'r.v.i..n..der!!! Inn.. sab .. baa..ton ka' waqt nahi hai' Plz.. meri help karo' Darji-Papaji ko..pata chalne se pehle'. Mujhe.. kaise bhi karke'. yahaan se door jana hai'"
Gurvinder couldn't understand her problem but he couldn't leave her in this state also. They were friends from childhood moreover he couldn't waste time Channi would be waiting for him. Geet saw him not reacting she self thought, after leaving her house the only person she could get help was Gurvinder. May be he didn't wanted to help her. She started whimpering badly thinking about it and fell on his knees sobbing.
"Gurvinder main tumhare pair padti hoon' Plz mujhe yahaan se le chalo' Main bahot mushkil se yahaan tak pahonch paayi hoon.. Agar unn logon ne mujhe pakad liya toh main jeete ji mar jaungi'"
Gurvinder felt pity on her condition and tried to calm her, he lifted her by shoulders and wiped her trail of tears.
"Ssshhh' Geet..!!! Tum daro mat koi kuch nahi karega tumhein' Hum jaayenge yahaan se' Lekin usse pehle tumhein yeh gande-phate kapde change karne padenge nahin toh logon ko hum par shaq ho jaayega'"
Gurvinder moved to his bag and removed a blood red salwar-kameez and gave it in Geet's hands.
"Yeh shaadi ka joda main Channi ke liyein laaya tha' Woh aaj hum shaadi karne jaa rahein hai' "
"Lekin Gurvinder' Main kaise yeh..??"
"Filhal mere pass tumhare liyein aur kuch nahi hai'.Tum yeh pehen lo' Jaise hi hum Amritsar pahonch jayenge main Channi k liyein dusra laa dunga'"
Within no time Geet got dressed in the red bridal dress. Both of them then with their belongings reached hidingly at the HP Bus Terminus and bought tickets for Amritsar. As soon as the bus arrived they boarded the bus. The bus was to leave in another 10mins.
"Gurvinder.. woh mujhe pyaas lagi hai' Main pani ki bottle lekar aathi hoon'"
"Tum ruko Geet main lata hoon.."
"Nahin' Yehin pass mein hi toh hai shop' Main 2min mein aathi hoon'"
Giving assurance to him Geet got down the bus and went to the shop to get a bottle. The shop was crowded over there and so she moved to the other shop. On the other side the bus was about to leave, Gurvinder started getting worried now. He stood near the bus door waiting for her. Geet on the other hand was successful to get a bottle and was returning back when her cousin Brij spotted her.
"Oyye Geet'!!! Geet' Ruko Geet'"
Geet getting panicked ran from there clutching the bottle close to her heart. As she reached the bus stop she saw the bus was leaving. She looked behind to see Brij was trying to chase her. She ran like a zombie behind the bus, the bottle had long being forgotten. She didn't realize when she let the bottle slip while running. Brij saw Geet dressed in a bridal attire and running to catch the bus and lastly got the shock of his life. Gurvinder had caught hold of her hand and pulled her inside the bus.

"Bas ussi kaaran HP mein sabhi logon ko, Geet k gharwalon ko lagta hai ke Geet mere saath bhaag gayyi' Sach toh yeh hai kii maine toh bas usski madadat ki hai' Usske gharwale usski zabardasthi shaadi karwana chahthe thein' Aur Geet ne bas yehi kaha tha kii woh kissi aur se pyaar karthi hain'."
Maan felt anger arousing through his veins. How could the Handas do such a thing? Aur woh bhi Geet ke saath. But he felt relieved that Geet still loved him and she escaped the wedding only for him.
"Mujhe bilkul bhi andaaza nahi tha ke Geet tujhse pyaar karti hai nahi toh main tujhe turant inform kar deta' Lekin ab jab tu aa gaya hai' Sab thik ho jaayega'"
"Haan Gurvinder' Ab main sab thik kar dunga' Tum mujhe yeh batao Amritsar aane ke baad woh kaha gayyi'??"
"Jaise hi hum Amritsar pahonche Geet ne mere saath aane se mana kar diya' Maine bahot samjhaya par woh nahi maani' Kehne lagi mera usspar bahot bada ehsaan rahega aur iss ehsaan k wajah se woh mujhe aur musibat mein nahi dalna chahthi hai' Meri aur Channi ki shaadi ke baad woh Delhi chali gayyi'"
"Delhi..?? Lekin kyon'?? Jahaan tak main janta hoon Delhi mein usske koi rishtedaar nahi hai'?? Aur tab main bhi toh wahaan nahi tha'??"
"Main nahin janta Maan woh Delhi kyon chali gayyi' Uss din k baad mujhe usski koi khabar nahi hai'"
"Tum fikar mat karo main jald hi usse dhund lunga aur sabse pehle tum se milaunga'"
With that both the friends hugged each other happily. Maan bid him a goodbye and left to Delhi. He couldn't wait to reach Delhi now. His Jaan, His Geet was in Delhi aisen mein how could he keep patience. He restlessly told his driver to increase the car speed as if that would land him in Delhi the next instant 😆. He started day dreaming about the things he will do when he'l meet Geet. Pata nahi kaisi dikhti hogi, but dnt worry main tumhe pehchaan lunga Geet.. Bachpan mein hamesha chup-chap, sehmi si rehti thi.. Kya ab bhi waisi hi hogi..?? Jaisi bhi hogi.. Sirf Teri hogi Maan.. OMG..!! Abhi tak usse mila bhi nahi hoon aur yeh haal hain' Jab usse milunga tab kya hoga tera Maan.. Geet ke Babaji bacha lena mujhe' At the same time his cell phone's ringing made him come out of his la-la land.
"Hello Dadi.. "
"Dadi.. Main thik hoon aur raat tak pahonch jaunga' Aapne dawaai waghera le li na'"
"Kya..?? Vicky aaya hai' Dadi main aapko bata nahi sakta kii mujhe Delhi aane ki kitni besabri hai'"
"Haan.. Rakhta hoon' Nahi abhi nahi' Ghar aake batatha hoon'"
He ended the call happily drifting in his Geet's thought not knowing about what fate has decided in future.
