What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
-William Shakespeare.
Ahaa needles! While the ladies stand around all worried and nervous and praying like the little one is going to battle, little Aarav doesn't have a crease of worry, he's got this, he's not scared of injections. (On a side note, what a way to portray feminism by showing all of them scared of needles, sigh!)
And then come the Kanyas for the Kanyan puja, a little disappointed that the same brats, I mean angels were not brought back this year, but regardless, they were adorable! Upon being invited to join the "Kanyan" puja (yes the irony!), little Aarav throws the very famous one liner "main en sab customs main vishwaas nahin karta" that strikes Anjali's bulb (fairly fast eh?) to go "aap bilkool humare Chotte ki tarah baat kartey hain". Another dot joined.
As it would be, little Aarav much like Arnav has the charm to swoon the ladies. These pre-adolscent girls just can't resist going and talking to him, and calling him cute! Wow! (No coodies there huh?)
And then one the final seeds of doubt was Maami's "chotta packet bilkul tumhare bada packet ki tarah hai, shame to shame"! Uhmm, I'm no evolutionary biologist, or geneticist or psychologist, I'm a left handed and both my parents are right handed.. should I be worried that I may be adopted?! Since when did eating toast or not liking girls make you someone's son?! But, apparently the Raizada women think it is because they conclude "agar Arnav ka koi beta hota to bilkul aisa hota". Seeds of doubt sown.
I like this little one, his one liners are firecrackers. He tells his very frantic mom "I'm fine, please don't tell anyone I fainted, it's a sign of weakness". And then disappears stealthily only to be discovered by the plants and pool (grrr, that's exclusive for two people buddy!). There is some bonding over plants and manure between senior and junior, and a new plant grown together, perhaps a symbol of things to come, old relationships being revived temporally. Operational word here, temporally.
And then we come to my favorite scene of tonight, "the curious case of Kushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada, one that gently, yet firmly tests waters. Upon realizing that Arnav and Sheetal were "seeing each other" for some time, she innocently asks "did she disappear"? Only to be explained very lovingly by Arnav what "seeing really meant". She's not to happy to know that, moreover, with her husband's lack of seriousness at that issue because it was so easy to get out of that relationship because "it wasn't love". This unsettles her and she wants to know all the ladies he ever was with, and then realizes that he's just teasing her and assures her that his past is his past and irrerelvant because up until her no one could make him realize what love really is. She's touched and we get a hug and some Rabba Vey (ahha music to my ears, LM LM!!) Uhmm Barun what happened with that hug there? Was it real manure? Why those expressions?!
You'd think that hug would pacify KKGSR, but nope, she's on to it like a bee on honey, she finds it unsettling that Sheetal is a single mother. And now we move to the adventures of a Mr. Bankelalji, a "meant nothing adventure" we've been told!
I quite liked today's episode, a good mix of story and emotions. Khushi's insecurities are understandable, it's not that she doesn't trust Arnav or his love for her. It's just that Arnav has changed since falling in love with her and his baggage from the past can come and shake up Khushi's blissful present and no one likes that.
I am holding off on "is he, is he not" speculation because I have a very firm opinion on it and I do not want to impose it. I am liking this track, it has the perfect mix of love, passion, intensity, character growth, relationship strengthening and most off all, a potential makeover!! So I'm going to sit back and enjoy this track like I have all the tracks the creatives have brought forward. There is an effort being made, and I appreciate that. Its 20 minutes of my day where I look for a good fictional break and I'm getting it!
