Hello everyone. So I've only participated as a reader so far on this site and I thought that I would try my hand at a little writing. I'm actually pretty nervous about posting this but I figured 'what the hell?' Now fair warning this is my first attempt at writing something and there is a definite possibility that it might be awful so don't say that I didn't warn you! 😆 I strongly believe in constructive criticism and I encourage it since it will help me improve, but please don't be mean. Anyways I've ranted on enough so I'll just leave you to check out the story. I present to you...

Prologue

This is a story about how one man discovers why this one person, that entered his life with all the subtlety of a storm and has always been there for him since, means so much to him.

He discovers how one moment of clarity makes you look at the world around you in a different light.

He realizes that it only takes one moment for your entire world to shatter.

He realizes that one cannot hesitate when it comes to the matters of the heart.

This is Arnav Singh Raizada's story on the path of finding love.

I'll be posting Chapter One in just a little while. 😃

Here is the first chapter. I hope you like it!

Chapter One

Shantivan-

"Chote? Chote! Why are you in such a rush? Come have some breakfast first" spoke Anjali as she watched her darling Chote walk past her in such a hurry as if his pants were on fire and it didn't seem that he was going to stop anytime soon either.

"Chote!" Anjali exclaimed once more as she witnessed Arnav not heed his lovely sister at all. Instead all his attention was diverted to his cell phone.

"Not hungry Di. I'll eat later. I'm doing something really important right now" Arnav mumbled to her set on his destination to his beloved AR Fashion House while all his focus was on that piece of device that might as well be super glued to his hand.

"But Chote you need to eat otherwise how will you be able to take your medication?" Anjali asked with worry as she knew that her Chote was prone to forget to take care of himself when he was engrossed in his work.

"Hello. Yes this is Arnav Singh Raizada speaking. I wanted to know what was the status of the Air India flight that is to depart from London to Delhi in three days? Yes I understand that the flight is to depart in three days I just wanted to find out about the time of departure. The flight is to depart at 8:00 in the morning Delhi time, okay. How long is the travel time? Eight and a half hours?! What the...?! That's ridiculous! That means that the flight won't arrive until at the very least 4:30 pm not including going through Customs and Baggage Claim and who knows if these so called 'pilots' of yours will even depart at the proper time! I want to talk to an administrator NOW!!!...Hello?...Hello?! HELLO?!?!" Arnav pulled the phone away from his ear to confirm his suspicions but he already knew what had happened.

"How DARE that imbecile hang up the phone! No one and I mean NO ONE hangs up on Arnav Singh Raizada! I'll show that lowly employee what he has done by messing with me. I'll make him pay for this! Eight and a half hours! That's just absurd!!! That means I have to wait even longer for her to get here. This is just not fair. I mean..." Arnav's voice began to fade as he stormed out the door towards his car to go to work. He went muttering to himself the entire way.

Anjali sighed. She loved her Chote she really did but sometimes she just wanted to throw her hands up in the air and call it quits. It has been same routine every single morning for the past two weeks. She was pretty sure that the airline employees were about ready to send an assassin to take care of Arnav. If she was being honest she was at a point where she might just take Arnav out herself.

"Was that Chote that I heard storming out again? I must say he's fairly on schedule with his outbursts Anjali Bitiya" Nani chuckled.

"Nani I don't really think that your question was necessary. Who else would begin their day like this other than Chote? I mean does he really need to call those people up every single morning? It's not as if the results are going to be any different. He knows everything there is to know about that flight. Just because he calls up every morning doesn't mean that the flight is going to land here any faster" ranted Anjali to her precious Nani. If Anjali ever had any issues that she needed to talk out she always went to her Nani. She could talk to Arnav as well but she never wanted to burden her Chote with her trivial matters.

"Anjali Bitiya you know the answer to that as well. It's been so long since she's last been here. There has never been a day where he hasn't missed her. He's been waiting for this day to come for the past four years now. These last couple of days have really tested his patience" Nani replied to Anjali as she lovingly stroked her granddaughter's head.

"I know Nani. I know Nani that he's waiting for the moment that she's back. To be honest I can't wait for her to return either. At this point she is the only one that can handle Chote when he gets into his moods" Anjali replied with a bit of frustration in her voice. Nani then proceeded to let out laugh.

"Who are we kidding Anjali? She is the only one that can handle him in any of his moods. I'm sure that if she hadn't stepped into our lives at the moment that she did, circumstances with Chote would be a lot different. I thank Devi Maiyya every day when I think about what she has done for our Chote" Nani smiled in reverence. She really was thankful for what that precious child had brought into their Chote's life and in turn their lives, happiness.

"Oh Nani aren't we all thankful? She was able to get through to Chote when the rest of us couldn't. There isn't a day that goes by where I ask myself how different things would have been without her. Then when I actually think about the possibilities my respect for her grows even more" Nani nodded in agreement. If all the members of Shantivan were to thank this special person even a thousand times each it still wouldn't be enough. They owed Chote's life to her for if she hadn't been there for Arnav they would have surely lost him.

At that moment a thought popped in to Anjali's head.

"You know Nani what I'm wondering about?"

"What is it Anjali Bitiya?" Nani asked with curiosity.

"I'm wondering how Arnav will have to deal with sharing her when she finally does arrive. You know he's not the only one waiting for her to arrive back to Delhi. Her family's been waiting just as long and I know that we all want to see her, too"

"Oh Anjali you know Chote. He is Arnav Singh Raizada and Arnav Singh Raizada doesn't share well with others. You'll see the havoc he'll create if he doesn't get his time with her" Anjali and Nani proceeded to break into laughter at the thought knowing that it was true. If Arnav didn't get what he wanted there would be hell to pay.

AR Fashion House-

If one were to ever take a peek into the office of one Arnav Singh Raizada that person would find a very hard and diligent working individual. However, it seemed that the same Arnav Singh Raizada couldn't concentrate on anything work related today. Actually he hasn't been able to concentrate on his work at all once he realized that he had hit the two week mark. He had been counting down the days of her arrival the second she had left for London. There hadn't been a day that had gone by where thoughts about her didn't cross his mind. When she had left four years ago Arnav would cope with that fact by throwing himself into his work. Everyone who hasn't been living under a rock knows that AR Fashion House is one of the most successful businesses in the nation, if not the entire world. The company had gained a lot of success and grown even bigger in the past four years due to all the time and effort he had put in order to help cope with the loneliness he has had to deal with for the past couple of years.

Sure he had been able to call her whenever he wanted, which was a lot, but it wasn't the same as her being right here next to him. The two of them constantly kept in contact through phone calls, text messages, email etc. If she didn't contact him within a day he would be calling her nonstop promising to send an entire team of army men to break down her door, with him in the lead if she didn't call him right up that second. Safe to say she would always call him back in fear of the havoc he would raise on...well everyone.

Arnav let out a deep sigh. Usually Arnav would find the distraction he needed in his work, but today was just not his day. His second course of action would be immediately to go to his pool side garden. He couldn't go there today due to a scheduled meeting he had to attend later. Arnav grabbed his phone and proceeded to look at his photos. She had convinced him to take a couple of photos of each other as well as some together just in case they ever needed a glimpse of each other. He had made a fuss of it initially but they both knew that was exactly what he wanted and needed. She knew him like the back of her hand. Arnav never had to tell her what he needed she would just know. That was just one of the reasons she was so precious to him.

He let out another deep sigh. He looked at his favorite photo of her. This was one photo he had taken of her without her knowledge. She had such a sweet smile on her fact that it was a spur of the moment decision to capture her image.

"I don't know how I'm going to deal with these last three days sweetheart. I want you here now. You know how I claim that there is nothing in this world that Arnav Singh Raizada cannot do? Well I have found one thing I know I never will be able to control. It is time. If I had control of that you would have been here years ago. Please I'm begging for these next three days to go by quickly. I need to see you again. It has been so long" Arnav said as he spoke to her image.

Arnav heard a knock on his door.

"Come in" he stated.

"Sir Mr. Chaudry and his team have arrived. Shall I escort them into the meeting room or tell them to wait?" asked Aman. Arnav's loyal employee and his right hand man.

"Escort them to the room I'll be down in just a minute"

"Yes sir, right away"

Only after Arnav heard the click of the door did he dare to talk. Everyone here only knew him as the ruthless business man ASR and he wanted to keep it that way.

"I guess that's my cue. I hope to see you very, very soon" spoke Arnav to her image. He put his phone away and with that he put on his ASR front. He walked out the door and asked, no, commanded his PA Lavanya Kashyap for the files that were relevant to this meeting.

"Here they are ASR!" Lavanya enthusiastically replied. Anyone with eyes would be able to tell how big of a crush Lavanya had on the mighty ASR. It seemed as if only Arnav was the only one unaware of her feelings for him, or he chose to ignore them no one could ever tell.

"Good luck with your meeting"

"Luck has nothing to do with it. In the end luck isn't going to get me my deal. That is purely based on me and my team and how successful we are in presenting forth what the client is looking for" Arnav arrogantly replied.

"Oh, of course. I was just saying that be..." Lavanya trailed off as she witnessed Arnav not pay any attention to what she was saying at all as he walked into the meeting room to work his magic. Lavanya let out a frustrated sigh. She had tried everything on him to finally get him to notice her. She dressed up for him, brought him his coffee just the way he liked it, she was always on time with her work but nothing seemed to catch his eye. She wasn't going to give up yet though. Lavanya was confident that one of these days Arnav would see how much she cared for him and that they would be perfect together. With that thought in mind she went back to work with a new sense of determination.

Delhi Airport-

"Here you are ma'am and welcome back" the customs employee gave the woman her passport back and proceeded to clear her for entry back into India.

"Thank you so much. Have a nice day!" the woman replied as she put away her passport, grabbed her belongings and proceeded to make her way to the exit of the airport. She was so excited to be back that you could see her bouncing with energy. She stepped out of the airport and back onto the soil of her homeland. She let out a contented sigh. It was so good to be back! Her next goal was to find a taxi to take her to her next destination. There was someone she was eager to meet.

"Madamji, where to you need to go? I can get you there no problem" advertised the taxi driver, eager for another customer.

"I need to go to AR Fashion House. How much will it cost me Bhaiyaji?" she wasted no time in asking him that question. She knew what Delhi was like. She knew that he would state a ridiculous price and that she would fight him to bring the price down.

"Only Rs. 150" replied the driver in a sugary tone.

"Kya?! Rs. 150?! It shouldn't cost more than Rs. 100! Are you trying to rip me off? I haven't been gone that long from India that I won't know how much it should cost me! This is stealing Bhaiyaji!!! No wonder foreign countries call our workers thieves. You are a working citizen of a great nation. You have to keep the pride and reputation of this nation high and here you are trying to rip your own countrywoman off! Shame on you Bhaiyaji! I mean don't you know that..." she had begun with her rants of what it means to be a citizen of this great country speech. Once she started she wouldn't stop. Anyone who knew her very well knew that fact about her that no matter how long it took she would get him to see her way.

"Acchaa, achaa Madamji. It's fine you can give Rs. 100. I am sorry. You're right I shouldn't charge so much" replied the taxi driver. If he was being honest she kind of scared him.

"Great! Ab chalo! What are we waiting for? I have somewhere to be" she replied as she happily skipped into the taxi after her luggage was put away safely in the trunk of the car. She was bouncing with excitement in her seat at the thought that she was that much closer to her destination. She actually was in fact early. She wasn't supposed to be here for another three days but she was able to take care of all her business early and caught an earlier flight. No one knew that she was back and the first person she wanted to know was where she was headed towards.

"Arnav Singh Raizada the one and only Khushi Kumari Gupta is back!"

I hope that wasn't too terrible. Please do tell me what you think. Thank You! 😊
