I have had this question on my mind for some time now. Why are people watching IPKKND? Do people actually enjoy the story? There is tendency for people to try and influence the storyline or they want it to be the exactly the way imagined it. Now here is the thing, different people have different expectations and their imagination and understanding of the story are bound to be different.
It turns out that the world of IPK is ruled by spoilers. Fans look forward to spoilers, articles, inside news more that the episodes. Even before a track plays out, many of us want know the outcome of it. Fans want to take precautionary measures, so that the outcome of the track doesn't disappoint them. It is like pming an FF writer and telling what to write. And we breathe a sigh of relief when x,y,z spoiler providers assure us we have nothing to worry about.
Doesn't it kill the excitement?
There is a reason why they are called spoilers. They spoil the fun of viewing.
Do we want suspense, drama, entertainment or do we simply want predictability?
This trend of giving out spoilers started early this year. Before that we didn't have spoiler givers who could disclose the track beforehand. We didn't know Shyam was Anjali husband. Some of us guessed he would be and some of us thought it would be too predictable. A few of the articles and news segments suggested he would be Khushi's brother; others said he would actually fall for Khushi and slowly turn grey. We didn't know Lavanya would become Khushi's best friend or she would walk out of the relationship on her own. We didn't know there would a Diwali near kiss or a fairy lights scene.
But now we already know Sheetal is a typical vamp. It's like hearing the story of a murder mystery from your best friend before reading / watching it. You already know who the killer is.
Is it because fans can't handle pressure or have no patience, they don't want to take chances or they simply don't trust the makers or their ability of storytelling.
I am also curious to know if fans want Arnav and Khushi to be happy all the time or lead a trouble free life because whether it is real life or soaps, things don't quite work like that. By constantly dictating the cvs or throwing our demands, are we doing any good or stagnating the story? I am not talking about constructive criticism or suggestions; I am talking about making demands for the outcome of tracks.
The cvs vision need not be the same as ours. It is their story after all. Or maybe it is the same but we would have gradually discovered it. But some of us have no patience for discovering it. Have we lost faith in their ability to write or we never had any faith to begin with?
Please leave comments. Feel free to agree or disagree, I welcome all kinds of views.

There is another issue of debate which has got many of us thinking. My friend made a post on it. Please peep in if time permits. š
