What do people want from this show?

I have had this question on my mind for some time now. Why are people watching IPKKND? Do people actually enjoy the story? There is tendency for people to try and influence the storyline or they want it to be the exactly the way imagined it. Now here is the thing, different people have different expectations and their imagination and understanding of the story are bound to be different.

It turns out that the world of IPK is ruled by spoilers. Fans look forward to spoilers, articles, inside news more that the episodes. Even before a track plays out, many of us want know the outcome of it. Fans want to take precautionary measures, so that the outcome of the track doesn't disappoint them. It is like pming an FF writer and telling what to write. And we breathe a sigh of relief when x,y,z spoiler providers assure us we have nothing to worry about.

Doesn't it kill the excitement?

There is a reason why they are called spoilers. They spoil the fun of viewing.

Do we want suspense, drama, entertainment or do we simply want predictability?

This trend of giving out spoilers started early this year. Before that we didn't have spoiler givers who could disclose the track beforehand. We didn't know Shyam was Anjali husband. Some of us guessed he would be and some of us thought it would be too predictable. A few of the articles and news segments suggested he would be Khushi's brother; others said he would actually fall for Khushi and slowly turn grey. We didn't know Lavanya would become Khushi's best friend or she would walk out of the relationship on her own. We didn't know there would a Diwali near kiss or a fairy lights scene.

But now we already know Sheetal is a typical vamp. It's like hearing the story of a murder mystery from your best friend before reading / watching it. You already know who the killer is.

Is it because fans can't handle pressure or have no patience, they don't want to take chances or they simply don't trust the makers or their ability of storytelling.

I am also curious to know if fans want Arnav and Khushi to be happy all the time or lead a trouble free life because whether it is real life or soaps, things don't quite work like that. By constantly dictating the cvs or throwing our demands, are we doing any good or stagnating the story? I am not talking about constructive criticism or suggestions; I am talking about making demands for the outcome of tracks.

The cvs vision need not be the same as ours. It is their story after all. Or maybe it is the same but we would have gradually discovered it. But some of us have no patience for discovering it. Have we lost faith in their ability to write or we never had any faith to begin with?

Please leave comments. Feel free to agree or disagree, I welcome all kinds of views.

There is another issue of debate which has got many of us thinking. My friend made a post on it. Please peep in if time permits. 😊

you're right.. After reading this, I've realized that we are going crazy over spoilers. I'll admit, even I'm getting addicted into knowing what's going to happen, and if there is any news regarding the cast (all the crap saying Barun, and other members of the show are leaving the show)..
I've been here for about a month, and all I want to do on IF is look up these stuff. I should change that habit. I never came to the site when I started watching this show. I watched all the episodes through Youtube. I instantly fell in love with this show. I was shocked by all the surprises that came around (for example, I didnt know Lavanya was going to be Khushi's friend - I was very excited about that).
I should avoid spoilers and rumors at all cost because they're really depriving. and like you said, it really kills the element of surprise.
Thank you for enlightening me. Thanks to you, I may have found a way of getting rid of this stress that I've been having the last few weeks.

By the way incandescent, I really like your posts. They're always fun to read. If I knew you in real life, we could be really great buddies šŸ˜†

I think "spoilers" spoil the fun and I try not to open any posts that say that. But then often you send up opening posts that discuss spoilers and the game is given away... so in the end whether you want or not you get know what is being planned and that is no fun
I guess recently i enjoyed the farm house scenes because i had no idea they were coming... i want to keep that way
not know what is being planned..
and i think the only way to do that is not log on to IF which is tough

So True Fari! Spoilers Live up to the name!
After reading the spoilers Fans decide even before the episode "That I'm not gonna watch it etc..etc...
You're excitement is lost after reading the spoilers!
I made a similar post too
We should have "A Week" without these spoilers and just watch the magic it creates!
I'm fed up with this forum! We just jump to conclusions!

And The CVs...BECHARAS! Seriously! I bet they are freaking pissed off with us! People don't allow them to work in peace! Arnav-Khushi can't be romancing all day! There should be twists and turns in a show!

The People who give spoilers start throwing tantrums that I'm going to Leave IF..Blah..Blah...But End up staying here. Do they want people to sympathize on them and make posts in the forum saying "Please Don't Leave". To top it all they give us incomplete spoilers which creates panic in the forum and members start making Petitions!

Have we appreciated the CV's at least one time in the past few months! No!
We always want 30 mins of Rabba ve!

What's the point in watching when we know what's going to Happen!

We're Just Tooo Demanding and CV's can't meet the fan needs!

I hope this spoiler business stops once for all and we can watch IPKKND in Peace and Actually Enjoy It!

Done Ranting!

So agree with youšŸ‘šŸ¼

Pros and cons being acclaimed and having a huge fan-base.

Creatives have their freedom to tell the story they want. It is their story! We like it, we watch it! If not we stop watching or start watching later when it agrees to our sensibilities. But I am not in support of invading their freedom and opposing a track even before it has played out.

i hate lovey dovey stories.. so much of sweetness will ruin the dish..love stories don't move forward with romance only ,the desire for being together, the longing for each other, the pain felt for the other one,all this spice up the story..for arshi always the uncertainity in their relation flamed up their love, desire and passion..this track is a good trump card for cv's to recreate the magic of ipk..if they can create ipk, that means they know their job,..let them do their job...and they will not let down..are they nuts to screw up their own lovestory portraying their lead fathering a ilegimate child..no na..so i want people to keep some patience

and i hate spoilers..they ruin the suspense

You are right and I am supporting you and fully in agreement with what you said in this post. Ppl are intervening too much in the story by creating unnecessary havoc in the forum. They want the story to be shown in their liked way as you said want to see the story without much pressure. I think the previous tracks also have been affected greatly by the demand and pressure tactics of the fans. that is why we don't feel that enthusiasm in watching them. It is much more enjoyable watching IPK without these spoilers. I would definitely appreciate if the forum is spoiler free and article free, that would be golden era of IPKKND. These spoilers are spoiling the show. Really it is time to act now. A few ppl just starts after a single episode, I don't blame them, but would definitely say this is too much. I believe this is what led GH to say dekhna hai to dekho and I believe that is the best way to deal ppl who keeps this kind of mentality. It is time to say bye bye to spoilers.
