A BIG thank you Priya for this Crooner...a much needed one. Your Crooner covered the pertinent issues ailing the show. And of all the quotes I've read in your crooner this one has been one of the most relevant ones, your quote today has hit the nail...bang on!

I know the feeling of dissatisfaction off late...was feeling the same at the beginning of the remarriage track...but then it settled into a nice momentum so I was okay. But since the wedding...everything has been on fast track. Like you said, though Shyam's track was finished in a jiffy the audience was okay as we felt he needed to be taken care of long back but somehow he had lingered on...and most importantly we're all geared up to the most anticipated track of IPK : the romance of the 'officially' married couple who has been attracted to each other since episode 1.

And what do we get?...a family movie outing, a 'what the...?!!' birthday celebration with one or 2 min of couple moments thrown in as an afterthought and it is thanks to the chemistry of the leads, those moments are the highlights of the otherwise lackluster episodes. It's like ASR's constant need to kiss his wife on the lips has gone for a vacation and the sizzling physical awareness of the newly married couple is replaced by platonic camaraderie. The only hint of them having a conjugal life was him carrying her towards the bed. We know the constraints of a 8 pm show...but what happened to those 'hand holding' moments we had seen for months...show a simple pillow talk between the couple or them waking up together in the morning...there are so many subtle 'couple' moments that are so coveted which doesn't involve a repeat of the farmhouse lovemaking (not that we'll ever complain😳)...and when you have an intense alpha male like ASR and a jhalli, sanka wife like KKGSR...and with their track history...put them in a room and let them loose...nothing will be boring! but please give us more than peck on the cheeks! Like you said Priya the USP of the show is mature love story and not family drama.

And I have serious issues with the ASR's birthday (non) celebration! What the heck was that? A guy gets punished for saying aloud, he doesn't want a birthday celebration? And Khushi has changed herself for ASR and listens to his wishes? when did that happen? From my vantage point the person who has changed himself according to her aspirations from clothing to his belief in wedding 'rasams' is ASR...though he has iterated and has lived by his 'you dont need to change anything' for his wife. Trust me I dont have any issues with that...as he's a guy in love doing things for the person who is his lifeline. It's the whole trend of whatever the female protagonist does is right because they're doing it 'for others' and the male has to change to fit in their plan of charity for others...I dont get it. Call me anti feminist...but it feels a bit unfair to me.

Agree with you about the sensitivity of the birthday episodes. The guy got rebuked for wanting to go out of the way and trying to get his wife a proper birthday and he again gets rebuked for wanting some quality time and a birthday wish from his wife ..why? was it because he spoiled her plan of having a big celebration?...and the whole "hamein aapse kuch zyaada hi umeed thi" with tears was more Anjali-like blackmailing than Khushi like...For me the sukha breakfast, the karela subzi lunch was fine as I was expecting a sweet, cozy surprise for him from Khushi and his family...but was utterly disappointed with the 'teaching ASR a lesson' attitude for uttering he wants a 'regular' day for his birthday.
Having said that...loved the brotherly conversation between Arnav and Akaash about 'ladki's and the jalebi making scene...and the 'making up' between the couple especially the 360 of enjoying each others not so delicious cooking. A kiss on the lips with some 'sansein ruk gayee'/shak dhak moments would have been icing on the cake...but I was ok with what the 'lift and carry' implied😉😆

Priya you reflected most of our thoughts about the parallel track with NK and also how they dealt with Anjali's apparent nonchalance to the traumatic life changing events she faced within a very short time. They are the 'rabbits' the CVs should have explored rather than looking for a fresh blood. And what happened to Maama-ji? They need to mention something/anything about him,...like he's managing AR's UK branch or something...he seems to have vanished into the thin air of CV's memory.

About the mini ASR...I have a Bubbly-360 premonition about it🤢 I do hope for my own sanity I'm proven wrong.

I hope I've not ranted too much...I love this show for the what it has given me...and somehow even with all trips and falls it has always landed safely into the main premise of the story: Arnav and Khushi's love...so hope that will continue to hold true...even after marriage as marriage is not the end to love...rather beginning of exploration of other aspects of love...adjusting to each others differences, taking small steps to meeting each other half-way...and with opposites like Arnav and Khushi formula for some awesome tracks.

forgive my collage indulgence😳...his expressions were too cute to ignore😉😆

@ priya, thanks for the updated...such a needed crooner...👏
you have hit the bulls eye today...
your crooner kind of calmed me down...i was so agitated since yesterday...
ya its the gap in the script and certain wrong dialogues which often divides us into two camps...
i have no issues with ASR making jalebis...infact quite happy...the way he wanted to pacify the roothi roothi patni...but somebody care to explain what was that anger all about? khushiji ki zyada umeed got hurt??? really...i never felt that khushi was so insensitive to say that...that whole dialogue was so selfish in nature that Khushi's whole character sketch is jeopardised. she is a girl who lives for others, her smile, her antics are meant to bring sunshine to other's lives...Arnav means the world to her...its not long back that Arnav went thru all the rituals just to honour her dream marriage...all the movie plans, all the indulgence, the assurance at purple orchid ...each promise to accept each other without any change...all fell flat with those dialogues from khushi.😡
why was Arnav made to feel sorry, what was he guilty of? if khushi was just following his instructions then why were we made to believe otherwise...why did we think that d whole family was chalking a plan out along with khushi to irritate Arnav and make him eat his words back?
if its otherwise then khushi is lying to Arnav saying that she was listening to him and not trying to rile him up? did khushi forget the cake and flower which he planned for her??? the scene ends with Arnav promising that khushi can plan his bday next year and also extracts a promise from him that he is gonna celebrate Khushi's bday too... then what does this mean? Arnav needs to change for khushi...period.
i remember when Anjali and nani told khushi that ASR doesnt mind having his dinner alone and still khushi insisted to wait...whatever her plan was that time i am not getting into...i thought khushi is gonna understand what he means actually when he says nobody should stay hungry till late for me...khushi has also experienced how the whole shatir dimaag thing came into picture...that he never wanted khushi to feel bad for his ill health...then why khushi didnt understand that this husband of hers doesnt want a party but he definitely deserves a bday wish, some private moments of themselves to celebrate it? am sorry just help this ranting today...😭

i absolutely agree with you on Anjali and NK characters...Anjali is almost bordering human sensibility...how can we not have a anjali who is crying silently or just a little lost in her thoughts, given the fact that she has just endured two biggest shocks of her life...

loved loved aakash arnav scene...want more of those...it was so natural. more because of the growth in their character...aakash has not shy away from his big bro, went upto him and brought up the topic in the most subtle way...and thank you CVs he maintained his dignified way when he said that you know better how to deal with your wife...didnt become the love guru NK.😆😆😆

lastly my biggest complain...how the most fiesty couple became so thanda post marriage? where is the problem? no passion from the both sides..? i am not gonna start my ranting on this again...

Muhahahahaha Dear Creatives Reloaded! I LOVE it! 😃

~edit~

Such a bang on Crooner Priya! Seriously - every point is just perfect! And yes, while the individual episodes work for me as well, as an overall theme or a track, it is going nowhere. And yes, SP nuns or whatever it is - I know that the other serials on Star Plus do show a lot more than what is being shown here in terms of a romance. For a passionate, intense romance, the fact that they are now together should be shown as combustion rather than comfortable.

I don't know why the CVs seem to shy away from showing sexual tension - this was the problem for the contract marriage as well, in my opinion - while it worked overall for me, I can't help but think there were so many other directions this could go in with the romance between them. Same here. And the introduction of these new characters and the accompanying spoilers are not helping one bit!

To me, the dialogue yesterday where Khushi said she had changed for Arnav - ok, even that was maybe acceptable - but why have her say what she did about expectations? If you decide to show a love that surpasses everything - including surpassing such a huge secret about the past that linked their families - when you show that Arnav was ready to do a Salman dance, and carry out all the rituals that he doesn't believe in, why have a dialogue like that?! Also, I was very confused - I thought she was continuing her planning - so how did it suddenly turn into this? Some level of continuity is needed. It felt like it was a bordering on lame attempt to bring a fight into the equation and then hurry through its resolution - which was very disappointing! You're so right Priya - why the rush? What are they rushing for??? Having said that - the jalebi scene was ultra cute, and the kisses and what followed even more so! But I so want morning afters!!!

I agree on your points for both Anjali and NK as well - Anjali was behaving as if nothing happened at all, and that didn't sit well with me. After this much drama, we get her smiling and laughing like nothing happened? There was no sadness in her eyes even. And for NK - there should be some purpose now. He is a character who should absolutely hang around because he adds immensely to the show, but he needs to be given some story and purpose. He is also a character who people are very invested in, so a storyline for him would be a breather for the leads and the PH too!

I think the other piece I would like to see is something to do with Gupta House - how Arnav reacts to Garima after the past revelations etc. Why is there this sense of amnesia always - like tracks are just forgotten as soon as they are over?! And yes, we need to know where Payal is too! She is still a critical character! I would love to see more on the Akash and Payal front as well. The scene with Akash was so sweet and was just so brilliantly done, and both Akshay and Deepali are such good actors! You can do anything with them - even if you want to employ a cliche and have them have a baby or something, but just do that! Come on CVs, I'm sure some of your "rabbits" have to be with regard to what to do with them!

Instead you're bringing in characters that your audience is predisposed to hate! I can't stand precocious kids, whether they are in fictional television or reality television, and trust me, my mother doesn't like them either, and her reaction is usually the TRP audience's reaction too. What you said is correct Priya - new additions have not worked for IPK at all in the past. People are not happy with the track either - they would rather see a proper marriage developing between Arnav and Khushi! I will reserve judgement - the track is still opening up - but if it undermines the trust and love that you have taken pains to show building up between Arnav and Khushi, it will really be quite a stupid move to make, in my opinion.

I'm not saying they need to be lovey-dovey all the time - in fact I love when they fight, and I'm sorry to say the hottest scene I find till date between them was the one where he grabs her head and says "aur bhi bahut kuch kar sakta hoon" and "manva lete hain" (phew, was that hot - and both of them with water all over as well!). But let the fights not be shown for the sake of it - let there be a meaning to it without breaking the foundation of the relationship between them that you have painstakingly built up - that's all I ask!

I second you Priya - it's not like I'm going to stop watching, and it's not even like the episodes per se are not working - till the point Barun and Sanaya are on screen and are together, I'm going to watch and I know it, because I love both of them and Arnav & Khushi too much. But these really are concern areas for the CVs to think through - they should make use of what resources they already have in the best way possible, rather than trying to pull rabbits out of hats which are not even magical in the least!

P.S. Arnav Singh Raizada's cookbook! 😆

can't fathom. waiting for your take dear. sorry no right being on first page, but could not resist.

Well dear, what to say. a good piece of writing. You ranted my heart out.i love asr's character more than anything in ipk. So its painful for me when they do this to a character I love so much. felt like shouting to cv's to stop playing with asr.

i wonder, are cv's mad or what, but then calm down myself saying they are creators, they know well.
we are mere viewers, with emotions highly invested.

What a brilliant post Priya, I can't begin to say how much I agree with every word mentioned in the post.

IPKKND has always been an intense, painful but even then a very unique love story. After all that Arnav and Khushi have gone through in their relation, from the contract marriage to the hate to it slowly and painfully changing into love that surpassed everything, and then the marriage rituals which had to pass every test possible. They went through much pain, pining and wanting to be with each other, and when they are now officially married, they both are seen spending zero time together. On the day of their wedding night we have them getting to know about Shyam's plans leading them to forget everything else for that, and now that done, we have some random tracks put in, which didn't make any sense to me when put together. The episodes were good, with the comic timing, dialogues and the actors at their best, but as an entire story or screenplay it falls weak big time. I just cannot understand this sudden need to rush. The rush to end the past track/the speed at which Shyam's real face was disclosed and he was thrown out/the speed at which Anjali got over it all/and most importantly the speed at which Arnav and Khushi have forgotten that they are newly married.
Even in normal circumstances any married couple, wants to spend the maximum time together, its not even about romance or passionate moments, its even about simply being in the others presence to channel the extremity of love felt for the other after being bonded for life.
And circumstances for them were never ever normal, they came back to be together after going through every ordeal possible. Then now after coming back to being together after all that, why does it seem like nothing ever happened.

I have no problems with new entries, but I too like you want to question WHY cannot the characters already present in the story be used well? There is so much more to all of them than just being in the scenes as mere additions. They have characters and a lot of scope to explore them and connect them to Arnav and Khushi's story. Even if the new entries are necessary, why does it have to be right now? Why can't things go a little slow?

The show is not ending anytime soon, Barun is not leaving the show, then why such a break neck speed?

Having complained I cannot deny that any moment shared between ArHi is always magical, and yesterdays episode was perfect for me, though the fight and dialogues were out of place. Arnav making jalebi for Khushi was like a dream come true for me, and shyly but happily and content the way he managed to please her and the way they celebrated his bday was indeed unique and totally enjoyable to watch. Everyone working on the scene's have done a splendid job, especially SaRuN who brings these characters to life.

Wonderful post Priya..Steinbeck's quote is awesome..

This is one of the very few episodes in IPKKND where I liked almost nothing...Kitchen scene was a slight relief...But I feel it could have been little better too..Akash's scene was good though..
Dialogues appeared as if they were written by someone who has no clue about the show..At the end of the episode I was completely confused about what they showed in last two episodes..I liked Monday's episode in bits, but after watching yesterday, I was totally lost..Nothing made sense at all...
Even though there were lots of tensions they have ended Khushi's birthday celebrations beautifully. When they showed about ASR's birthday..I thought day will end as beautifully
as earlier one..
My apologies for bookmarking the page and not being able to update..when I was reserving yesterday I completely forgot what day it is..and my calendar is completely full on Wednesday..
