He banged into our lives shaking us from the stupor. The knight in the shining armour burst into the scene to save the damsel in distress. I blinked my eyes and shifted in my sofa. A gallant man,picture perfect and here he is in Jaitser saving Anandi. A complete Mills and Boon romantic saga at our disposal. So who could he be?
And it was announced that he is the new collector of Jaitser and this village is now a district. And then we were introduced to Mr.Shivraj Shekhar. Well,well,well. So this is what we all were waiting for!
Shivarj Shekhar took the Singhs,Jaitser and us by storm. A perfect gentleman,a non-nonsense govt. officer, a stickler for rules and regulations, all in all a man we all had been waiting for. He is intelligent and just. He is caring and understanding.
But,what is that quality that made him so special? To me ,he is shy and sensitive. Two qualities rarely found in men. And a man you would like to take home and introduce to your parents without the fear of rejection.
So when this seed of desire started growing in our Dadisa's mind,a li'l game plan to have this man for her Anandi,I thought now she knows how to play cupid! Dadisa came a long way and completely bowled over by the new collector. So the charming lady proposed and the gallant man accepted.
Over the entire drama of Anandi's "kabhi haan,kabhi naa" we found the collector standing rock solid. It is Anandi and no one else for him. This roller coaster ride of affair with Anandi has seen many a rough side,but,stood the test of time.
With every one we could find fault,but,not with Shiv. He was just too good to be true. Despite stiff opposition from CM, he went ahead with his decision of getting married to Anandi. We appreciated because he stood by his ladylove through thick and thin. From a tough collector ,he mellowed down to a soft hearted sensitive man.
Having seen him from close quarters,his dealings with Heth Sigh and the rescue operation spearheaded by the collector in Jyoti's marriage were tough tasks. But,so far the toughest probably is handling the irksome Jagya. It is toughest, because, his own emotions are involved. It becomes a personal challenge to overcome the hurdles that may be on the way for the union of Shiv and Anandi.
His equation with Jagya now is up for a test. Jagya's reentry and Anandi's precarious situation are two things which will keep him occupied for quite some time. His first encounter with Jagya was not a pleasant one. Therefore, it was expected that there will be some amount of coldness between both of them. He is to be cautious to the extent not to take Jagya by face value.
We despaired when we saw Jagya plotting against Shiv and wondered what has come over our hero? Why cannot he understand what this buffoon is upto? The reason is,we think he does not know,but, we do not know if he knows. Men like Shiv never profess what they already know,they just wait for the right time to strike back. We have seen him rise to the occasion when it called for action. Right now,he is bidding his time. Jagya is currently riding high on new found love of Dadisa and the respect of the villagers. It pays to wait and watch how things progress.
The overtly confident Jagya will surely be caught through his own mistakes. And he will be rudely shocked when he is exposed beyond repair. Shivraj will ensure that he has no escape route to wriggle out of the situation. Though Shiv does not know much about Anandi's past with Jagya,he knows enough to draw a conclusion of his own. Jagya's desire to settle scores with Anandi will also take Shiv into this whirlwind. For any harm done to Anandi is equally harmful for Shiv.
He knows how much the Singhs have sacrificed for the daughter of the house. Yet a son is always a son and the end of the day who would not like to see a son returning home if he has indeed changed for the better! But, I feel it will be Shiv through whom the Singhs will know that a leopard never changes his spot. And to do this Shiv has to be extremely careful not to embarrass any one and also pass the message across. Gentleman that he is, it is expected that he takes care of every one else before his own interests are addressed.
And it is precisely for this reason he never exposed his Dadisa for her small mistake of bad mouthing him. He had told clearly to Anandi it will be only shared when a proper time comes! He knows for everything there is a time and a place. So it goes for Jagya as well.
I will not make a mistake by equating Jagay's new found appreciation with Shiv losing Anandi. He has a challenge and let him address that in his own way. For what a man is if he does not face a challenge? And like every time, I am sure he will coming out with flying colors and people worth two-pence biting the dust.
The time has come for the collector to reassert himself and emphasise in no uncertain terms that after all he is the man who calls the shots at the end of the day. And he will do that and how!
