For any show, crossing 1,000 episodes is a reason to celebrate. This is the mark when the characters have made a home for themselves in the audiences' hearts and established a story line that viewers follow with keen interest. Popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which airs on Star Plus, has two reasons to celebrate this weekend.

Not only is it Akshara and Naitik's little bundle of joy, baby Naksh's first birthday, but the show will also cross the much-coveted 1,000 episodes milestone.

There are going to be two grand parties with the entire Singhania and Maheshwari families in attendance — one for Naksh with Pogo's Chhota Bheem paying a surprise visit and another one organised by producer Rajan Shahi.

There is also going to be a special performance by an undisclosed guest at the party.

Actor Karan Mehra says, "We have all become one big family and we share a wonderful bond, which makes it fun working together. It feels great that our hard work has paid off and that people love our show. I am thrilled that the show has completed 1,000 episodes and we will continue to deliver our best to our fans."
