Pooja Rawal has played a variety of roles in several TV serials, the most prominent being the ones in Kutumb, Kyunkii... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Mehndi Tere Naam Kii. But, what's getting her rave reviews is her entry in Sony's most popular serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin.

Your character in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin is being watched with a lot of anticipation.
Yes and I am very glad about that. Though I have accused Armaan in the sexual harassment case, I don't think mine is a negative character. There's lot that is going to happen but as an actor, I have no right to give away the story before it is aired. So I can't say much but the next few weeks in Jassi... are filled with suspense.

You are also a key character in Rabba Ishq Na Hove…
Yes, I play the character of Amisha and complete the love quadrilateral which also has Sangeeta (Ghosh), Varun (Badola) and Nikhil (Arya). It will be aired soon on Zee and I am eagerly waiting to know its response.

How was it working with Aroona Irani?
I have worked with her in Mehndi Tere Naam Ki and it was fun coming back together after so many years. Besides, the best part about the sets of Rabba… is that it is the only set where you have more women than men. Right from the producer to the director (Nandita Puri) to the actresses in the serial, all create a fantastic environment. It's different because everywhere else, you have a male-dominated unit.

As an actress, what do you consider as your parameter to measure success?
I don't have any set parameters for myself. In fact, I think there should not be any ideal thing to do in acting. An actor has to be extremely selfish and keep on trying new roles.

Tell us about the Paritosh Painter play that you are doing…
It is called See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. It will be my first performance on stage and it is always said that theatre is the most difficult platform to act. There are no second takes and the lines have to be memorised thoroughly. I play a blind girl in the play and was very apprehensive initially but I have learnt a lot from Paritosh. Theatre is an extremely beautiful thing to do.

What do you look forward to after a long day at work?
The minute it's pack-up time I rush back to my son Raaj. He's four years old and a great fan of action movies. He has seen more James Bond movies than me. I love playing gun fight with him or taking him for horse-riding or simply shopping with him. My life almost revolves around him.

What is your dream possession?
My house. I bought it with my own hard-earned money without any help from anyone. Trust me, there is a different feeling when you walk into a house which does not belong to your father or your husband but only to you.
