What connection did I find with this show? The emotions. The writers could screw up everything but as long as that emotional connection was there, I was always willing to forgive all the flaws. I am a premed student so ignoring the details about cancer that they screwed up is difficult but at the same time, they portrayed the emotional turmoil caused by cancer perfect to the T. I can't tell you how many scenes in the cancer track have made me cry -- all of the revelation scenes, to Virat, Viren, Jeevika and when Manvi herself finds out. When Manvi has episodes of pain to be helped thorugh it by Virat. WHen Jeevika decides to give up her baby for Manvi. When Manvi wants to walk away from Virat because she knows she has no future with him. When Virat knows that even if their walk together is short, he can live his whole life with the few footprints of those memories.

And so comes the union of Virat and Manvi. The marriage. Of two people who even when they first met unknowingly had the obstacle of cancer standing between them. Who as soon as they realized their love knew that it was already heading towards darkness if Manvi doesn't make it.

But then she does. Virat literally lost her and got her back. Shouldn't the wedding be an emotional roller coaster given the fact that the probability of them even getting this opportunity of a future together seemed impossible just days ago? Forget that it was rushed, no one even seems to be thankful for the fact that Manvi is alive and they are getting the chance to experience this happiness with her.

I won't go into the details of what the CVs chose to show instead because every other topic on this forum at the moment is about that. My greater concern is that I have lost that emotional connection with Virman (and every other character tbh) because of the way they have handled the wedding -- if I cried with them for their separation than I wanted to smile with them when they are tied together for eternity.

If for nothing else, CVs should have considered that this is not just an ordinary wedding, Virman have not gone through the usual unrealistic problems that we see in Indian soaps before we get a marriage; there has never been a meaningless Virman track -- what they have experienced is both beautifully surreal and real at the same time. Then why does the most beautiful journey lead to this?

First, Manvi taking Virat for granted and now this. Please don't forget who Virman are CVs. And please don't insult the natural chemistry between Kushal and Nia. Had they gotten even one scene where we could have seen how Virman are getting to live their dream, I would probably still have tolerated the whole rushed wedding scenario.

Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the few little Virman moments when they were in their own world (like the varmala scene) but still, like I said, it was not enough.

*** EDITED***

Very well composed post dear👏👏👏(sorry don't know your name )

This is exactly what I am feeling right now.. the emotional connection is missing ...

We could connect with every scene of VirMan... many a times we had tears watching their scenes and their soul stirring performances

they are not just any normal lovers.. aaj dekha .. kal pyar.. parso shaadi types and with a minimum problem of family acceptance in between, VirMan had a heart wrenching and the very emotional journey together, which even the married couples could not have faced like them

The man who hated love, who hate love stories.,. who used get annoyed with the mention of a girl, fell in love with this girl hook line and sinker.. there were many obstacles between them .. if he wished to, he would have given up his love for her, when he came to know of her cancer...

but he stood firm, took all her problems right on his shoulders, cancer, her hair loss, her refusal, the family consent, he said he would be happy with her even if it is for a short duration ,her deteriorating health, his bhai and bhabhi forgoing their unborn to save the girl.. every step we had the emotional connection intact.. and finally the happy days are here .. they are about to get married ,,the word MARRIAGE gives us such a positive vibe, fun, masti and happiness.,. with which every one will connect

VirMan's band baaja baarat-

I would not be exaggerating, if I say this shaadi is one of the most disappointed shaadi on TV, in my 20 years of watching hindi soaps

till sangeet, things were okayish ,.. the haldi and mehendi were a major let down..all rushed in a matter of 10 minutes .. the chooda ceremony - 2 minutes .. the bride's sister being so depressing and sad during haldi and mehedi (for the so called dumb drama) sent out all the negative vibes

then comes the D-day.. ruined by the dramatic runaway by bride's sister.. fine I vented a lot that day for the senseless and idiotic drama ever on Indian TV

yesterday, Virat was no doubt the star.. he was all set to make things right ..took every thing on his shoulders..and brings the bride's sister back ..

and what he gets to do today is stand there while the bride's sister is going from person to person apologizing ... and the muhurat was about to get over they rush the shaadi .. waah kya baath hain .. what was the pandit doing all the while.. couldn't he stop the apologizing program in between and start the shaadi right away..

well.. ok all done with apologies.. now what .ab toh shaadi dikhado.. the major disappointment ,. I would have enjoyed it if they had shown the main parts like mangalsutra ... or sindoor ...or the pheres ..in a relaxed manner .. with them on screen, rather than with his bhai and bhabhi's romance in the background

It is a major let down .. I am not against his bhai and bhabhi .. but those few moments are for these guys..couldn't they cater a few moments of screen space to them...,. for heavens sake they were getting married, hope people understand the worth of sindoor, mangalsutra and phere in a marriage.. they would atleast come up with a better screen play and camera angles

the last few minutes of the actual essence of shaadi is completely ruined with the focus shifting to his bhai and bhabhi...

and the bidaai also .. one of the most disappointing one, i don't even want to talk about the body double there

and dear as you said,., the whole emotional connection is lost with this ..couldn't connect to anything ..this is not what we expected..

all i can say is hope for some solid story line ahead.. after all, a girl can hope...can't she

thanks for the post .. i could vent out ..now i am all fine 😃

***EDITED***

I never cared for VirMan romance and never cribbed about the duration of their scenes or their screen space ,.the little yet powerful virman scenes would suffice me .. i connect to emotions more than anything ..
I wanted to see the emotions of a girl and boy who were marrying after almost seeing the death.. there is no E of EMOTIONS in the shaadi

Exactly where is the connection now?? 😕 😕 Today was Maanvi's bidaai and I couldn't connect with it there were lack of emotions 😵 The emotions that were their during J's bidaai weren't there today. The main reason for this is because Sid sir is not with the show anymore and since he left the show is going downhill...

And so comes the union of Virat and Manvi. The marriage. Of two people who even when they first met unknowingly had the obstacle of cancer standing between them. Who as soon as they realized their love knew that it was already heading towards darkness if Manvi doesn't make it.

The most awaited wedding of VirMan was a big let down for me, totally disappointed with this soo called wedding
@Purple- Totally agree with u, VirMan aint just some normal couple who've faced unrealistic problems they've had the most beautiful journey and we all expected their wedding to memorable and unique 🥺 Its really sad to see ur favourites not the same as they used to be, the connection, emotions in their scenes are lacking. The CVs made a joke out of their most beautiful journey by leading to some nonsense wedding 👎🏼
@Pink- Day by day Cvs are ruining our VirMan who we fell in love with, every time I see VirMan I always have a hope that they will be the VirMan who they were at one point and not trying to be someone else. I have always said this and saying this again NiShal's rocking chemistry is being wasted in this show, they have this unique talent which is hardly shown onscreen. The worse thing is that after this show NiShal may not be able to get a chance to work together again so I really hope that the CVs do not let their chemistry go to waste, they have much more to show.
@Blue- I always wanted CVs to show a scene where we get to see VirMan getting to live their dreams but this never happened and if they did show it during the wedding I would've been very happy , but still rushing the most awaited wedding and instead show some lame twists would've been tolerable 🥱 🥱
@Green-Yes their were a few moments of VirMan which I did enjoy but i agree this was still not enough and I did really have high hopes which have gone all down the drain. 🥺

Awesome post!!! 👏 👏 👏
I really hope that the CVs redeem the show before it gets too late and its about time that they show something meaningless i.e. Virat's career track 😳

Even before the cancer track started, there was still that something special about them. Virat only found out about her cancer after months since the show started but they were already emotionally connected with the audience. At that time, the nok jhok and masti was suited. But now after what they have been through, there should have been more maturity at least that's how I feel. I still took it because those moments were still cute but as part of what is supposed to be a journey, they just didn't fit.

And totally agree. I have been here since 2005 and on many different forums as well and a wedding would be celebrated. I don't think a single fan is satisfied with what they did -- I feel like I would have been happier watching some random couple's wedding of a show I never watched. A wedding day is grand enough as it is and it should have been 100 times grander for Virman considering the fact that they never hoped they would actually have the chance to see this day. Ughhh why?!

omg...totally copy paste of what I feel...
every single thing..
SO wanted to see them cherishing their official union but all lost.. :-( :-(
Lame drama totally, none of the scenes made any impact b/w other characters too and the wedding also got totally ruined..
Edited -
And I had no issues personally about lack of romantic scenes till marriage, did voice it though, but for me, my main issue was emotional connect.. Why did they show such a painful journey when the union had to be more bland than any normal arranged marriage.. Dunno if I should curse them for ruining VM or thank them for making VM so special that now, their butchering hurts us so much..
They should watch ur 'aas pass khuda' or the tribute VM made on saajna maahiya, by Maham I guess, if they have forgotten what VM were

Totally agree!! Fine they didn't give us romance, maybe we were asking for too much but the emotional connection could have been kept alive by a dialogue or two or an eyelock or something...anything that still connects to their journey...right now it feels so disconnected with everything we have seen before, yes the chemistry is still there but its not the same Virman if that makes sense 😕

Awww haha thanks hun! I always get surprised when people remember my VMs...when I made the aas paas one, its when I started watching the show and everything I put in there was what Virman represented to me...But Maham's VM was no less - she covered literally EVERYTHING. Someone just show them that VM, maybe the new writers forgot to actually watch the show before they write future scenes

just finished watching the episode and its like what the...

since their official union things have been down hill for them - even during M's last days etc etc. i will not repeat whats been said in this forum over last few months. But this wedding took the cake! i mean even the pheres - i cant describe how i felt as i felt nothing! sindoor, mangal sutra vidai - the whole scenario leaving aside J's utter stupidity - even the couple them selves - there was no emotions at what was being achieved here after what they have been through. and considering their ability on emotions - what a wasted opportunity.

M's acting for the first time felt as if overacting (i love all the couples here so i am not bashing but girls has to feel something when going through all the rasams
