It's a grand celebration for the Singhania and Maheshwari families

The popular serial starring young marrieds Akshara and Naitik has completed 1,000 episodes. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which originally aired on weekdays, is now being telecast six days a week. The show has been running a long time and gaining immense popularity.

The 1000th episode will showcase the lead pair celebrating their son Naksh's first birthday with much fanfare. According to sources, a special guest will be giving the Maheshwari and Singhania families a big surprise too. The family show based on marriage, joint family, parents and grandparents is one of the top running serials on Star Plus, along with Diya Aur Baati Hum, which has just completed 300 episodes. The makers have made the 1000th episode extra special for its ardent viewers as well. They devised a plan to incorporate a lucky viewer into the show for a day. The makers will give the lucky winner of a contest an opportunity to spend an entire day with Akshara and Naitik ' now that indeed seems like fun!
