~EDITED~
Perfect Title Priya.!!! Awesome Crooner as usual! Love how you laid out the final move of check and mate...you've had discussions about this in so many crooners...finally we reach the end of the game. I was wowed by your reproduction of the verses used in Khushi's story telling! 👏 And my lau story with your quotes is well known ❤️ the saga continues😉

"There were a billion lights out there on the horizon and I knew that all of them put together weren't enough to light the darkness in the hearts of some men."
~Michael Connelly , The Scarecrow

A long awaited episode...finally judgement day of the slithering Shyam Manohar Jha is here. The guy who after the kidnapping face-off had refuted every single claim by Payal, Khushi and NK using lack of evidence, this time his self-incriminating video surveillance footage seems to have convinced (with Anjali you never know 😆) his wife who has always chosen to believe him blindly. How ironic is that! And then rattled beyond wits by the mind games played by the trio Arnav-Khushi-NK, the otherwise smooth talker Shyam makes a slip of a confession of his misdeed...sounding the proverbial death knell to his dream of ruling Shantivan. And out comes the mask of Mr Nice, revealing the deranged guy who will go to any extent to be back in Shantivan including killing his own unborn child.

A riveting episode of well paced storytelling with great execution by the whole team. Acting wise, today was Abhaas's day to deliver. He did most of it till he reached the maniacal Shyam part..where I felt he went a bit overboard with everything. I'm not a big fan of anything loud, be it dialogue delivery or limb movement or body language..and he hit the trifecta of OTT in all for me. Otherwise he was very good throughout, especially in the part where the video revelation was going on.

Barun didnt have much dialogue today, but then if you have eyes that speak like that who needs dialogues...he was consistent with the frames in reflecting Arnav's heartbreak on seeing a happy Di knowing what's coming is going to shatter her or silently providing her with support and then when ASR emerges while confronting Shyam...

Sanaya was looking beautiful throughout and her expressions and voice modulation were pitch perfect during the recap of Anjali-Shyam story...

Today almost everyone's expressions of shock, heartbreak and disgust during the revelation were so tangible, so real...Akaash, Payal, NK and Maamiji. Only exception was Daljeet. I found her expressions kinda same throughout...maybe because Anjali was shocked...hopefully tomorrow the expressions will be more fluid.

The precap was my favorite part though...as a woman.

Only disappointment story wise...I was expecting some stronger motive/back story to justify the horrendous crime Shyam's committed...but he seems like just a cold-blooded psychopath.😡

@Priya: Brilliant Analysis & Well written!!

After a long time, I felt it was one flawless episode!

Khushi - the torch bearer of the truth brought out the whole truth with the right empathy, apathy and courage.. SI's voice reminded me of Heer-Ranja scene - the same mesmerizing voice..

Arnav - Letting his wife remove the final curtains, and at his sister's side, knowing she is going to see the worst storm in her life. The pain, hurt brilliantly portrayed by BS. I wonder how he conveys so much day in and out without much to say.. Brilliant..

Shyam - The sound of the crying wailing baby, his final undoing.. He blurts out, in a moment of lack of control - the truth.. It reminded me of an earlier even, when he first lost control & his mask slipped - when Anjali suggested he tie Rakhi to Khushi and he thrashed the auto fellow.. Brilliantly done by Abaas.

NK - the purposeful beat of the drums, kept his essence intact in his solemn pledge to bring the truth out.. And well portrayed by Akshay - Akash's shock and protectiveness toward his sister.

Well said - the final look of ASR on Shyam was check and mate!! Great title..

All in all a brilliant episode, one of the few perfect ones.. Again as you said, goes back to show - the talented leads and the cast & the crew that IPK has - and can potentially deliver..

Well written post!!! After a long time, got to post in your thread!! 😊

"The fuse is lit. You can run all you want to but you leave a trail of gunpowder in your wake. There's going to be a reckoning eventually."
~Colleen Houck

Whoa! No words to express how BRILLIANT this Crooner is, hun!! The TRUTH always trumps and how!! Today, the White Queen lived up to her name! Will update in a bit!

Hope you are feeling better, sweetie!🤗

Edited~

Carpe Diem, sweets! You seized every bit of the epi today in such a concise, succinct take, hun! What a FANTASTIC read!!👏👏 The Endgame. That finally play in chess. And in this case, a gambit by Khushi and Arnav unlike any other! To say that this was an epi I have been waiting for would be a gross understatement. Ever since that heart wrenching moment when Anjali lost her baby after she succumbed to Shyam's ploy, I have wanted this PH to produce a screenplay which would met justice to her and for Khushi.

I would never have imagined such a brilliantly scripted, riveting narrative for this finale, though! Khushi was strength, dignity, and a reflection for Anjali in so many ways today. She internalized every sentiment, concealed and otherwise in a manner befitting the worst covert betrayal. The White Queen and the "saarthi" who not only protected her King, but also the Black Queen. The person who never ever doubted that TRUTH will prevail...Who had thus far put aside her own pain...today, it was catharsis for her, too. As I watched, I couldn't help but think back to our references to S.W.O.T analysis, Priya, which you so fluidly described to us in your "Devil's Advocate" Crooner (Crooner 93). Every connection we had made about Strengths, Weakenesses, Opportunity and Threats; now assessed and played out! A "Fuse lit" and that "Strategy" --which you so poignantly reminded us of over the weekend, too--carried through in signature IPK fashion!

"Ek Iraada Kala Beimaan Sa"

The lights dim and it begins...a celebration...of two people and what love should have been...Every part of Shyam and Anjali's life together unraveled: that "mandir ki ek seedhi se" where it all started...A rose, a declaration of love, pati vrata Anjali finds her "everything." Glimpses of their moments together...of their shared love...the being who was to connect them forever...that "choti Rajkumari"...And in the midst of it, a juxtaposition in expressions: An unsuspecting, happy Anjali to her brother with tears brimming in his eyes. Agonized as the "Iraada" is revealed in pieces...Yes, Priya, how apropos for him--that "moving soul" showcased in some of the hardest few minutes in Arnav Singh's Raizada's life as he takes in every word and looks at his sister. "Main hamesha aapki raksha karoonga"--his blessed oath to her promising to always be there, forever. Rakhi ties, and the sacred knot on his arm harboring every bit of abhorrence for Shyam and protection for his sister. You could not have described Sobti's expressions any better: truly "a case study for growth in fluidity of expressions." 👏👏👏

The sound of the drums only herald the inevitable--a battle cry--Shankhnaad, in its own right. The connection is instant to Shyam's psychotic reality! I couldn't help think about Anjali herself as the "choti si Rajkumari hamesha ke liye chali gayi." Part of the reason we feel the CVs have had discredited this character is because Anjali has been portrayed as the Rajkumari in the Raizada household. Sheltered and completely unaware. For me, this line was not only about the little one who was lost, but about Anjali's "awakening" as well! Her self created utopic existence has now come crashing around her; the "storm" as you so rightfully put it has finally hit home!

No doubt at all as revelations astound, shock and terrify...Even as Shyam tries to leave, the final play...The clincher to seal the deal...The toys and the "voices" of that which is no more...Yes, even a psychopath can stop dead in his tracks...He denies every bit of the truth as is case with most cowards. The master of the game in his element...The Shankhnaad sounded, now the Warrior steps in...A courtroom like set-up for the perfect climax...The truth must prevail..."Lawyer speak" as Arnav Singh Raizada questions him about the pills...Lethal, steady, and not a quiver in his voice, the White King now steps it up...A stinging volley...And the defendant goes down...Quid Pro Quo and Check-Mate, Shyam Manohar Jha...! Yes, the reckoning now finally at hand!

Inevitably my thoughts went to the trust factor and Anjali's reassurances to her brother in Monday's episode. This is the moment where every bit of faith Anjali has in her brother--and in Khushi, too--will come to the forefront. This is the moment when her strength--that NAARI SHAKTI--which I've harped about should surface. I believe in these set of CVs and have some hope that through Anjali's devastation and pain, we may finally see her mourn for her baby, and all her losses...Will we finally see the "pati vrata" throw her husband out of Shantivaan, once and for all? Can we finally hope to see her character redeemed, even if its a little too late!?

Other thoughts~

~I loved the "tiered" approach to the narrative: the S.W.O.T. tactic taking shape over the last week; Arnav and Khushi's ever present, ever endearing determination to do right by Di...and NK's solid support through it all! And then the "strategy": subtle commencement, a build up, and paraphrasing InDi's words-a fitting denouement! Truly a masterstroke in how the narrative was layed out and carried out...Khushi and NK taking the reigns, and ASR stepping in at the opportune time! It played out exactly like we had envisioned even before the track appeared on the horizon, Priya!

~That dhol and the background music were so expertly integrated into the narrative...It really made the screenplay standout!! Kudos all around to the sound mixers!👏

~Yes, the editing was crisp, and seamless...LM, AK and the team really delivered right in time for TRPS!!

~GH & co: I love you and your team. Bas, keh diya😆...The dialogues are worthy of their own category for expert performance today...Amma would be doubly proud!!👏

~Everyone brought their "A" game today, but a superlative performance by NK! Karan's expressions, particularly in that dhol playing scene, were absolutely fantastic!!

~LOVED Naani--she is such a perfect judge of character! No doubt. no benefit. no nothing! The distinguished matriarch was absolutely in her place!!👏

~Welcome back, Aakash...and whattay comeback!!😲

~DB: You finally brought it!! A glimmer of the DB who is so capable of a stellar performance was seen today!

~Khushi in that sari...Gorgeous!! If only she would wear net creations everyday!!

James Dean once said: "An actor must interpret life, and in order to do so must be willing to accept all the experiences life has to offer. In fact, he must seek out more of life than life puts at his feet. "

Dean could not have defined it any better when it comes to the performers today! "Interpretation" redefined by three prolific actors. This was Aabhas' moment, and I finally felt the "actor" in him emerge after an eternity!👏 Sanaya embodied Khushi with absolute subtlety, bringing every bit of Khushi's own pathos and pain in renacting her Anjali. Every line delivered with such precision...She reminded me of my own Goddess, Audrey Hepburn, in how she appeared: poised, confident, natural and ever glowing!! And finally, the man...to be an actor "he must seek out more of life than life puts at his feet." What Sobti portrayed today is "life" itself--the unspoken trumped the spoken--can we get more "realistic", "cerebral", "definitive"? How many more adjectives do I need to describe a performance that defies anything remotely "actor" about it!??!!👏👏👏

I have much to say about the precap, but will reserve judgement until the next epi...Suffice to say, I am cautiously optimistic for the aftermath!!😃

Kaun Shaitaan agar Iss Bhagwan Ko humein maana hi tha...
Ek din aisa bhi aana hi tha...

Credits for verse...Mua...Shegarf71☯️

Truly check and mate...Priya just a perfect title for the perfect episode by the perfect cast of our perfect show! Many say...what is left to show?It will all be done after Shyam! They have no plot! They will just extend and drag the story!

REALLY,FOLKS?
With an ensemble such as what we have...would we not want an eternity of exceptional performances by such a potentially fabulous group of actors? They who are in true sync with each others strengths and weaknesses...those that cause tv screen combustion...those that cause mind and soul explosions...really,Is IPKKND ever at its peak?Or is it a collection of peaks in its story??Time will tell...but I will swear by its brilliance and historical presence on the Indian tv screen for my lifetime!!

Mamiji called it..."DIMAAG HAI TOH,CHAAL CHALO"!
Truly what Arnav Singh Raizada was doing in today's episode! Some may have mistook his Silent and Calm Demeanor...but not I!!Indeed,he was not shocked by the unfolding moments...he had prepared to witness the facts he already knew...HE was there to bring Shyams real true evil maniacal face to the world!!...Said he,yesterday...MAIN LAUNGA..ANTH HOGA!!
Shaatir dimaag ne chaal chali...aur Jaal mein ghire Shyam Manohar Jha...Welcomz,Jeejaji to my parlor...said Saale Sab!!

Gems of Mamiji...once again...Udhar ka dekhat ho...IDHAR DEKHO...CHECK MATE HUI GAWA!!
So apt the title...a little confusion,a loss of focus, playing on Shyams weakness and fear...and his game was up!!
His self admission as we all rightly knew was the only the only way Anjali would ever believe his evil deeds...

The Silent Protection of Di by her Chhote...
Every expression on his face, every look in his eye...his body language spoke of his deepest love, anguish, worry, fear and misery at his Di's collapsing world...the impact of what was to come, when it came and after it came...his eyes never left her face!!He could watch silently and miserably as it all happened!!

The Sister...watching in surprise, glee, confusion, shock, realization, disbelief and wanting it all to be a nightmare from which she wakes up sooner than now!!Daljit, loved it!The background music, camera work, direction, dialogue, entire cast merged as one to contribute to this epic Khulasa moment of Shyam!!

Oh My God,Sanaya Irani!!I need a stronger word than FAN for what I feel for your performance as Khushi today!!The emotions that ran through my soul as I heard the reciting of those stunningly appropriately written verses by one heck of a writer...kudos to him/her!!Just out of this world,Sanaya!

Abhaas Mehta,My man!R.E.S.P.E.C.T!!Lalit Mohan/Arshad Khan...You 3 took Shyam to the next Galaxy...A psycho that scared the other Screen Pyschos due to being so nice and evil...today unmasked completely...shook all Shantivan waasis to their core!!bravo,Gentlemen!!
Brilliant acting is alll about seamless transitions frame by frame...this is what I think as a viewer...and By God,YOU BROUGHT IT TO THE TABLE!

Aakash Singh Raizada...has emerged, peepol!!Gaonwaalon, bachke rehna!!Finally,he gets out of his bubble...at the time his Di is popping out of hers as well...!two birds one stone...well done CVs!!Paayal now needs to be in there as well...chalo,will wait for it...But the one hold on Shyam and you have won over the fandom ,Buddy!
Nani,Mami in true form and supported the moment appropriately as well...Just everything, everything made my breath stop many a times in today's episode!!

I found my heart constrict,my fists curl,my jaws clench as though my personal life was attacked...I wanted to enter that TV and shake the laugh out of Shyams body!!
Just phenomenal!Thank you IPKKND!I love u,dammit!

ASR STYLE...PRIYA I LOVE THIS PHENOMENAL CROONER,DAMMIT!

Perfect Title Priya..and of course the crooner ...😳 A very beautiful summation of a very long awaited episode🤗

Very nicely noted down Khushi's monologue...every word had some depth in it.

And you are right when u say..ASR had his check mate look...😳 Infact without uttering very much..he said it all😳

Khushi of course..with her act stole the moment. Unmasking the evil with the help of NK..Especially the last part when she says "Sab Kuch Khatam ho gaya" actually broke my heart.

Finally the moment we all have waited for arrived. I actually remembered the movie karzzz...of rishi kapoor when the entire scene was enacted...😳👏

For me it was all about the direction today and every actors expressions. Today was Abhaas Mehta's day to show and prove his talents..well..he did to a certain extent but he did go overboard with his laughter..it was a little fake to me😆..but otherwise his brilliant psychopath look..I will give it to him😆...he did prove that when u r creep..u can really act like one..

Anjali Jha's perfect fairy tale world shattered today right in front of her eyes. But it was very much needed..to open her eyes and come out of that pati is bhagwaan world of hers..

Akash finally had some expressions to emote..I was shocked and surprised. But I will give it to him today...he did good...😳

And of course..how can I not give it to NK he was brilliant as well..Overall, an episode keeping u on the edge..and very long waited..lets see what happens tomorrow...will he confess to everything..every bad deeds he has done..?😳

Overall, will give to the creatives for this episode..⭐️
Thank you for the space my dear😳

Great crooner Priya, looks like the makers are awakening from their slumber and do realize the gem they have on their hands here. They should have never neglected one of their best creations til date.

What an episode, it was intense, gripping and really showed the strong points which make IPKKND stand out among the rest. Tight screenplay, execution, stand out performances by the cast. It reminded me of the episodes we got not too long ago when the Raizadas and Guptas learned their pasts were connected during the wedding episodes, too good!

NK, Khushi and Arnav had a difficult task on their hands, one that pained them to do since it involved hurting someone they love dearly but they knew it was for the best and carried out their plan flawlessly. Each continued to push Shyam to his breaking point whether it was through the baby cries, sonogram, skit, toys and cradle to Arnav finally tricking him into a confession. It was all superbly done, and unlike last time where these three were unprepared for Shyam to counteract this time they ensured there was no room for him to escape. I loved it!!

Anjali, no doubt the writers damaged her character to such an extent that it made it hard to relate to her but today I did feel bad for her. Anjali started out this day thinking she would happily celebrate her anniversary with her loved ones but reality soon hit her that this was no celebration, it was to hit her with the cold harsh truth about the man she loves. What I loved about this is the fact even though she initially chose to be in denial, slowly she started absorbing everything and in that shock came acceptance especially when Shyam started admitting to everything.

Finally I saw Akash being utilized well yes he had no lines but he sure left his mark in this episode. It did not take long for Akash to put the pieces together and when he did the anger in his eyes was extremely visible when he stopped Shyam from leaving, never have I seen this side to Akash but I loved it. It was so good to see him have some standout scenes in such a powerful episode.

The precap was awesome, way better than the promo. The look in Anjali's eyes, it went from a painful shock to one hell of a fury! If Shyam can be shown reaching his breaking point then so can Anjali who just unleashed her anger on Shyam and rightfully so, what made this precap even sweeter was Akash smiling in the background totally proud of his Di for taking off the blinders and letting him have it. I really hope Anjali does more than just slap him, I want to see her telling him off then throwing him out herself.

Great Crooner Priya...I love, love your posts and look forward to them everyday!

Today, what stood out to me was execution. It was screenplay first, dialogue next followed by direction. The set up today, reminded me of theater. At its finest. When you do theater, you have to pay attention to so many things:
- Props
- Dialogues
- Act after Act
- Reactions and of course actors and their nuances
Everything came through today...but screenplay - that was a clincher. The way they pieced the puzzle together for Anjali - with more of a voice over from Khushi - mind you the focus was NOT on her, it was her narration that was the focus here...and the dialogues were just mind blowing.
They got the Rasa they wanted, they had Shyam where they wanted him and he just caved. To me the guilt at being caught, the one second - let me compose my self and then the pychopath unleashed was just a beautifully written and enacted sequence.
Everyone's reactions and expressions were just top notch - right from Aakash's disbelief - to where are you going dude...to NK's killer looks, Arnav's - Im gonna tear you apart, to Nani and Mami were supreme.

Anjali - I will wait until tomorrow to comment.

Aabhaas as Shyam Jha - buddy - you rocked yesterday - and the screenplay truly supported you.

Now just some questions and pieces that left me wanting a bit more:
- The background score was a HUGE letdown today. It could have been a lot more captivating and engaging..they did falter that IMO. Like for example - although the Daiyo Ho is Shyam's BG music, it was not appropriate for that pychopathic outburst of his...
- I would have also liked Buaji, Babuji and Garima to be present, for he has rocked their world too.
- Is Shyam truly done? What about all that he has done to Khushi? And her family?

All in all a great episode...and I cant wait to tune in everyday to see what happened...Sometimes I wish I were in India to catch it when it airs...have to wait 12 hours to watch it and then post
