Katrina Kaif: No point planning or debating 100 crore hits

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial 😉

JAB TAK HAI JAAN is all set for release and the quartet of Yash Chopra,Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma is expected to create some cinematic magic this Diwali. While it is expected that quality wise the film would be nothing less than superb, what with the entire package fitting in well and A.R. Rahman's music expected to do the trick, it is but naturally expected to translate into huge numbers as well. No wonder, this time around expectations are of collections that go much beyond than just the 100 crore mark.

'See, all that I want is my films to have something good to offer to the audience and turn successful. Moolah that comes in is a by-product of that. That could be 100 crore, 150 crore or 200 crore; what's the point even planning, debating or discussing about it,' questions Katrina whose EK THA TIGER is just a few lakhs short of the 200 crore mark.

She feels that it is current market situation that has made 100 crore a worthy enough (and quite achievable) number.

'Otherwise if you look at WELCOME (2007); it came five years ago and in today's scenario, it would have been an easy 100 crore blockbuster,' she says, 'So you know, there is no point spending so much time and energy on these numbers. They are only bound to see further escalation and tomorrow, even a 100 crores would be a pass'e'

Fair point Katrina.

Welcome was one of the shittiest movies I've ever seen. It was beyond bad. If that can make 100 crores then there's no hope left for Bollywood movies.

True Welcome was some what funny but H2 is perfect example mixture of horrible cast, script and dialogue (although I liked Ritesh)

ROFL is Welcome being trashed? HAHA it is the best comedy movie made in 2000's, it was a very clean and family oriented movie. I watched it with my whole family and they loved it. At least during Welcome movies had clean comedy after some years comedy became cheap.

Funny how Shayanka fans talk about there is no hope left for bollywood if Welcome turned 100 cr. Well let me tell you sweet hearts the movie is a blockbuster and we could first talk about no hope left for bollywood if Teri Meri Kahani had not flopped 😛

I've never seen Houseful but in general, Indian comedies are just bad. They're very forceful and the jokes are that funny either. I think Paresh Rawal is a fine actor though. He does really well with comedies.
