New Delhi: Debutant Alia Bhatt, who stars in Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year', has bagged another plum opportunity thanks to her acting abilities that have found a keen buyer in her mentor cum producer KJo.


Word has it that Alia has been roped in to star opposite Arjun Kapoor in the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel 'Two States' to be directed by Abhishek Verman, who has also worked as a creative director in 'Student of the Year.' So it is good news for Karan Johar who was hunting for the leading lady for his ambitious film project all this while.

However, sources have said that Karan will make an official announcement about Alia working in the movie only after 'Student of the Year' hits the big screen.

As far as Alia's ability to pull off the role of a South Indian IIM graduate for the movie is concerned, we think that her spectacular performance shown in the rushes of 'SOTY' proves that she is indeed the right choice!
