Hands up if you think that some compromise is needed for a better marriage?
Ahem thinks so.
This has taken him a long while to reach this stage in his marriage. When he got married he did this to please his mother. Little did he realise that there was something that intrigued him about her. He was fascinated by her. It took a long time to learn of her ways even though it confused him at times, as the KKs were unknown to him.
When he worked out for himself of her sincerity and generosity did he then want to get to know and spend time with her. He wanted more. He became her friend. He wanted to see her smile much more and would do anything to see it. When she got hurt, he then realised that he cannot live without her. By then he had fallen unknowingly in love with her and made her a priority in his life and his equal.
Ahem had learnt to love his wife. He assumed that Kinjal would do the same.
To see Ahem sitting on the bed and telling his wife of his concerns was unimaginable even a year ago. He had sincerity in his voice and sought for her comfort. It was not her facial expressions nor her counter discussion that satisfied him but her gentle touch of her hand on his. This soothed and calmed him instantly.
This was a very short scene broken up in two parts but it reflected the development of Ahem in his journey of love. This scene gives us a moment to imagine of them discussing of their daughter's problems.
