Waiting impatiently at the canteen, Khushi was pacing to and fro, designing a mental check list in her mind of the points to ask and the points to say. Once she considered her plan ready to be implemented, she requested, or rather blackmailed NK not to be a spoilsport in her scheming strategies, else she would ban his share of home-made food. And NK being as big a foodie as Khushi could not afford the risk of no longer tasting the exquisite delicacies coming from her house.

Numerous interrogation marks were planted in NK's thoughts as to what Khushi was planning to achieve but he concluded that craziness and Khushi were synonymous, and thus decided to remain a mere spectator of the negotiations that would take place in front of his eyes between Arnav and her. Aware of the divergence in opinions that were bound to have, he made a note to make a mental scoreboard of the proceedings while the Clash of the Titans would take place.

As soon as Khushi spotted Arnav making his way towards them, she quickly signalled NK of his arrival and murmured all the best to herself.

"So what is the plan?" Arnav asked precipitately as he pulled the chair to sit.

"There are certain rules first that you need to follow if you want our help!" Khushi affirmed trying to plaster a serious look on her face. "Firstly I am the one asking questions, not you! Only after I ask them will you be able to demand clarifications! Done?"

"Okay! Go ahead! All rules accepted!" Arnav let out, to Khushi's utter disbelief who thought that he must be beyond desperate to bend to her commands.

"What is the root of your break-up?" Khushi curiously asked.

"Is that really important to move ahead?" Arnav enquired, and noticing a positive nod from Khushi, he added "Lavanya thinks that I cannot love anyone since she claims that I am short-tempered and full of ego!"

"Did she say this? She really must be a liar! That must be a big joke! How can anyone find you so?" Khushi exclaimed, irony mixing with a sly smile that earned her dagger looks from Arnav.

Round 1: Khushi 1- 0 Arnav

Khushi is the Irony Queen – one brownie point for her

"See even now you are blowing your fuse out of proportion!" Khushi attested, "So the first part of the plan will be to control this bad temper, which is supposedly the major obstacle in your relationship with Lavanya"

"Listen Khushi this is ridiculous! I get angry when I should be getting angry, not for unjustified reasons! And who the hell are you to tell me this?" Arnav blasted.

"I am giving you an advice and you are getting furious, if this is not an unjustified reason then please go and get me a dictionary! I will check the meaning of the word unjustified!" Khushi voiced out proud of the way she was having the upper hand.

Round 2: Khushi 2 - 0 Arnav

Khushi hits the target one more time! Seriously that girl is too good in winning arguments!

"What is the first thing you will do when you meet Lavanya?" Khushi asked.

"I already practised several times my speech! Here it goes! Lavanya, I am very sorry for everything that I knowingly or unknowingly did, that caused you to think that our relationship should be put to a stop! I know that I am not an easy person but with you by my side, I am sure that every obstacle will be overcome! I have not forgotten all the beautiful memories that we have shared and I really doubt you have! Please give our love a second chance! Do not let it wither, instead let it bloom once more! I love you!" Arnav said.

While NK instantaneously clapped his hands after hearing such a heartfelt speech, Khushi's eyes literally popped out and her mouth hung open.

Round 3: Khushi 2 – 1 Arnav

This one's for Arnav no doubt! What a speech! Claps! Hats off!! Harvard dude is a lover boy!

"You wrote this speech?" Khushi asked still seething in shock, while inwardly thinking that Lavanya, scratch that, any girl would melt hearing this speech.

"Don't be silly! Can you see me writing this idiotic stuff? I found it on the net and I am dead sure girls like these types of poetic declarations! Hearing this, she will at least decide to give it a try, don't you think so?" Arnav retorted.

"Things can't be so easy! What if really Lavanya forgives him! They will be living together happily ever after!" Khushi thought, before telling Arnav "Don't do this mistake! Lavanya is not the type of girl who would digest this kind of confession … she is different, very much different! Moreover, you will appear like the biggest dimwit!"

"Excuse me! Did you just call me dimwit?" Arnav asked furiously.

"Anger…control…You will be one if you tell this cheesy dialogue!! Girls of today's generation are different, believe me! If you ask for forgiveness and tell her that you have come for her, then she will always control you and will make you dance to Halkat Jawaani, I mean to her tune! And would it look nice for a guy to bend to each and every demand of a girl?" Khushi revealed, deeply scrutinising Arnav's reaction, showing that he seemed to be convinced by her suggestion.

Round 4: Khushi 3- 1 Arnav

Halkat jawaani? The simple idea of dancing to this must have terrorised Arnav! Khushi, you are way too manipulative girl! One more point for you!

"So what should I do? I tried reasoning her, giving her flowers, gifts … nothing worked!" Arnav let out.

"Have you heard of the saying 'Ignorance is bliss'? I suggest you ignore her for some time and just observe at what speed she will come back to you! Mark my works!" Khushi announced.

"And you think this will work?"

"Super-duper hit it will be!"

"And how do you know this? Did you try it with your boyfriend when he ditched you?" Arnav smirked.

Round 5: Khushi 3- 2 Arnav

Wahoo! Unexpected strike by Arnav!! This won't be good to see for Khushi!

Silence prevailed for a minute, which was weird for Khushi who could never stay quiet but she felt blank hearing what Arnav had just said. Calmness soon turned into anger which in turn transformed into an unleashing flow of words.

"You are just one ungrateful person! What has my personal life got to do with yours? And why would my boyfriend ditch me? What is wrong in me that someone would want to leave me? At a snap, a line of boys would be queuing up! Wait a minute why would I even have a boyfriend in the first instance? All of this is just a waste of time! There are things more serious in life than running behind nonsensical idiocies, things which need more attention, stark realities of life!! And you better not try to provoke me!"

Round 6: Khushi 4- 2 Arnav

Miss Chatterbox back in action! Great going buddy!

"Okay relax! And I am the one having a short fuse?" Arnav asked raising his eyebrow "By the way Khushi, can I ask you a question now?"

After having a tad bit calmed down, Khushi gave him the green signal to ask.

"There is one thing bothering me! You told me Lavanya is your very good friend! She has never mentioned your name! Okay forget this, if she is your friend, why doesn't she sit next to you in class? You sit next to NK, right?" Arnav asked.

Round 7: Khushi 4- 3 Arnav

Khushi is a dead duck! What a sharp question, Arnav!

"Why doesn't she sit next to me?" Khushi said while repeatedly asking herself what reason to give him "Hmm ... hmm … it's just because…hmm you know Nanhe is very weak at studies, so I sit next to him so that I can give him a helping hand! Yeh Nanhe bhi na, he is always being lazy and leaving mistakes in homework and classwork!! I really wonder what he would do if I wasn't here"

"Really?" NK intervened, his eyes conveying a mixture of surprise and irritation.

Khushi kicked his foot under the table and hearing NK let out an 'Ouch', she murmured to him "What happened Nanhe? Did you forget what I told you some minutes back? Aloo parathas, jalebis, puri halwa, … yummy!"

"You are pure evil Khushi! Using my weakness to emotionally blackmail me! Hmph!" NK whispered, before adding "Yes Arnav, really! Khushi is right!"

Round 8: Khushi 5 – 3 Arnav

I am giving you this point against my own will! You succeeded to give him an answer and he believed you! Tussi Great Ho!

So Khushi is the winner of the day! Let us see how things will evolve!

"Summarising the main points of the plan, the gist is that you need to pay the least attention to Lavanya and simultaneously practise controlling your anger! Of course, every day we will experience new strategies that will fasten up the process! Anything you would like to add or ask?" Khushi said.

"No Maam! As from tomorrow, we'll see if your tips work out! I really hope they do, else you will be into trouble!" Arnav affirmed.

"Are you dhamkifying me?"

"No, just letting you know that I hope they work!" Arnav let out before leaving.

"This is not the whole plan, isn't it?" NK asked.

"Arnav will only try to ignore Lavanya, and it will be fun to see how he does that and how she will react! But it won't be enough! Unfortunately he seems to be too smart! So I will need to add my own touch and spice up things a little bit!" Khushi told.

"But Khushi, what will happen when he learns you were playing along?" NK asked.

"Be positive Nanhe! Nothing will happen … he will never come to know, at least I hope so!" Khushi replied, trying to convince herself of what she was saying. "Anyway tomorrow will be the beginning of a new show! Just bring your popcorn and stay tuned!"
