sugni could have a lot of easy way out if you think of it, why choose to live torn between two men. vikram wanted her to come away with him where they could live sepratly in a different city away from their present live. where they could be husband and wife without anybody questioning their relationship. without the responsibility of anybody but each other. why refuse that. that would be easy way out right?
even Aditya sudgested it. he was not going to hold her to the debth of 20 lakhs either. she could be free to live with vikram. why then did she refuse?
isnt life more complicated now than it could have been if she had made the other choices?
@ Red, There is a difference between marriage and sardhakai.
If Sugni got married to Vikram, that would be doing her Sardhakai, because Vikram is already married. That is how Sardhakai works. You do a mock wedding but you do not have the rights of a wife.
Sugni wants a 'real marriage,' where she has the rights of a 'Wife,'which means that man cannot be currently married.
So, no Sugni would not go ahead and marry Vikram since he is still married.
Sugni is obsessed with ONLY a 'real marriage.'

Sugni has not once conveniently acknowledged the fact that Aditya is engaged to Amrita. Or she would have stopped the Sardhakai in the first place. Also, the key thing is that "Aditya is NOT married like Vikram." So, obviously he is up for grabs in her eyes, and technically so. If you are not married YET, you are still up for grabs Legally by anyone, whether it is immoral or not (I believe it is immoral but that is my POV).

No one gave Sugni a way out to live in another city with Vikram, this was never discussed with Vikram, because once Sugni was told that Reva was alive, she had nothing to do with Vikram after that. So, it does not make any sense for you speculate about what did not occur. What you are not understanding is that Vikram is a married man, Sugni does not want a married man, because that would be continuing the generation of a Bedni life. Sugni detested Bedni life, it is not until she went aside and thought about her hurt that Vikram's wife is still alive, hence he is still legally married, that she got in a rage and decided to get her Sardhakai done. She sees Vikram as her betrayer, so there is no way she would have asked him to do her Sardhakai, she felt she was the only woman in his life and they could have had a legal marriage, now that she sees it is not possible, she is angry. She did her Sardhakai as some sort of rebellion or whatever, to spite Vikram who knows, Once Aditya mentioned marriage she jumped at it, because that is what she wanted and Aditya is perfectly single Legally.
The significance of being married to an 'unmarried man,' is more important to Sugni than her own Mother, so even if she has to sink Amrita for it, she will do it, and that is exactly what she is doing.
Sugni is the type of female you fear, but there are lots of women like her out there, hence we are seeing this show, whether fiction or not, and we have viewers who have NO problem with her behaviour.
