Irrfan Khan is obviously over the moon with his performance in the upcoming film Life Of Pi being termed 'Oscar worthy' by the international press and the actor has even received an email from Moneyball filmmaker Bennett Miller, lauding his performance.

Comparing the two Oscar-winning filmmakers he has worked with (Ang Lee and Danny Boyle), Irrfan says, "It was tougher to work with Ang Lee than Danny Boyle. Lee pushes you. He will be in India by the end of this month. The film is a strong contender for the Best Film Oscar this year. I wish we would be as serious about Oscars in our country! Oscars affect your market hugely. In spite of knowing that a few scenes from Barfi! have been copied, our film federation chose it over something which is original. How can that film stand a chance of making it to the nomination list?"
That said, Irrfan is also disappointed with his short appearance in the much-hyped The Amazing Spider-Man. Will he agree to be a part of the sequel, which has been announced? "Almost 50% of my portions were eliminated from the film. I have no complaints as it was done for valid reasons and I was told about it in advance. I haven't signed with them for the entire series. If I am approached, I will take the decision after studying my part."

Then probably only JOKER would qualify for OSCARS as every other movie is a copy ---- // @@ Otherwise we know that BIGGEST CHORS in the world are in bollywood ----- They should actually not send any commercial main-stream movies for OSCARS --- there are always much better original movies that go unnoticed every YEAR _-- / :X

Paan Singh Tomar should have gone to Oscar, then it might be picked for Nomination.

I know, it's laughable.

The Oscars have nominated only about 2 or 3 Indian films in the history of cinema of over 70 years.

Gosh ever since Lagaan and then Slumdog all I've been hearing is Oscars. The Oscars are just as fickle as Filmfare. Get over it! It is not the epitome or great seal of approval of making a good film. It should not be something that these Indian film-makers should be aspiring to at all.

It is not just Indian Film Industry. Oscars are one of the Only Two Award Ceremonies, Other one is Guild Awards, that honor Hollywood movies., They do not have CBS Cine Awards, CNN Filmfare , ABC Awards etc like in India/. That is why they are still valued and People do watch the movies which are nominated and once a mvovie wins and you watch it , it seems genuine.

Someone mentioned "Slumdog Millionaire" well that was not a Bollywood movie, it was just an English movie with Indian actors just like how the upcoming "Life of Pi" movie is not an Indian movie but has Indian actors in it.

Barfi is gonna get andas at Oscar. There's no way this film can even get nomination with all that plagiarism or should I say research..
