Shah Rukh and I share a relationship beyond work: Juhi

Juhi Chawla talks about making movies with King Khan, not working with Madhuri Dixit and 'Bas Ek Pal'
They just don't make 'them' like that anymore. Juhi Chawla is one of 'them'. The actor, always known for her chirpy and ebullient self on and off screen, will be seen in director Onir's 'Bas Ek Pal' next month. This is her second film with him after 'My Brother Nikhil.'
Playing a former Miss India, Ira Malhotra, who gives up everything to marry the man of her dreams, was different for Juhi. The movie oscillates between the past and the present. "Usually, I react spontaneously after understanding the situation but in 'Bas Ek Pal' Onir had to repeatedly remind me, 'Not this way because this has happened before.' It wasn't as easy."
In the film, Urmila and Juhi come together for the first time. "I haven't worked with the rest of my contemporaries either, not even Madhuri (Dixit). It's rare to get a film in which two women can work comfortably," believes Juhi.
All praise for Onir, Juhi can't forget the time he fooled her on the sets. "There was a scene where we got it right in one take, but this monster deliberately asked for another take where he wanted me to be dramatic. I went overboard and he captured the bloopers on camera," she giggles.
Juhi has been one of the few actresses to have taken up film production with friends Shah Rukh Khan and Aziz Mirza. But it might seem that post 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani', 'Asoka' and 'Chalte Chalte' their company 'Dreamz Unlimited' has limited their production dreams. "We might work together if something exciting comes up. Shah Rukh and I are very much in touch. If he asks me to do anything, I will be involved and vice-versa. Shah Rukh, Azizji and I share a relationship beyond work."
Her last film 'My Brother Nikhil', although greatly appreciated in India, was not noticed by popular awards. Juhi, like Onir, is upset by this fact. "It's all about PR and lobbying. I guess none of us are into it. We made a good film and those who saw it, liked it. I am glad that abroad, whichever festival it went to, it won some award or the other."
