Okay here's a summary
Nimmo is a simple middle-class girl who has a love-hate relationship with God. She's close to her dad and mom and has two sisters Naina, whose money minded and Swati, who's very career oriented. She is offered her dad's post when he retires and it is here that she meets Vikrant. She Falls in love with Vikrant but eventually finds out that Vikrant had feelings for not her, but her younger sister Naina who's very money minded. Nimmo gives up on Vikrant.
Then Nimmo comes to know that her Chawl and house has been taken over by the Sehgals, who are extremely rich, owing to the machinations of one Bhagwanji Bhai, a neighbor. Nimmo raises her voice against this injustice. She finds out that Kunal Sehgal, heir of the Sehgal group is actually the owner of the company where she works. She leaves the job. She also discovers that she can't stand Kunal, who's actually good friends with Vikrant.
Then Nimmo finds an ad in a newspaper for another job. She goes there and finds out that it's not a job but that she would have to enter into a contract marriage with none other than ......Kunal. She agrees only because she thinks she'll be able to save her house. Kunal on the other hand is under pressure from his dadaji to marry that's why he thinks that a contract marriage is the best way.
Nimmo and Kunal get married. Nimmo gets her house back. But no one in Kunal's house likes her, except Dadaji, Kunal's mom who's an absolute non entity and Varsha Chachi. 5 people are in on the contract marriage secret: Nimmo, Kunal, KK (Kunal's seceretary), Rishabh (his cousin) and Kantaben (Nimmo's maid). Nimmo and Kunal try many times to break their marriage but every time God (Siddhu) puts a sock in their plans.
Nimmo and Kunal are forcibly sent off on a honeymoon to Mauritius. The whole family reaches there to keep a watch on them. Here they meet Natasha who's Kunal's first love. Kunal gets desperate to woo her once more.
Dadi finds out about Natasha and brings her into Sehgal House. At this time Dadaji is pressurizing them for a kid so Nimmo fakes a report that she can never conceive. Dadiji forces them to adopt Krishna, a little girl. By now Nimmo has fallen in love with Kunal but Kunal still has feelings for Natasha. So Nimmo decides to bring them together. She tells Natasha about the contract marriage. Natasha and Kunal patch up and Nimmo says that she wants a divorce from Kunal.
At this current time in the story a contract that Kunal had signed backfires and Sehgal industries go bankrupt. Dadaji chucks Kunal out the house. Nimmo supports him and right now they're living in Kantaben's Chawl. Natasha is already getting embarrassed about Kunal's social status. Kunal is gradually getting tired of Natasha too.
