I wanted to do something different'

After playing a rustic cop in comedy show 'FIR', actor Aamir Ali is now playing a neurosurgeon in the new show Honge Juda Na Hum. He clarifies that this role is not a cameo, and adds that he took the role as he wanted to do something different.

"I couldn't do something full-fledged along with 'FIR', but when this came, I thought I would balance both these shows. I wanted to do something different and that's why I took it up," Aamir says.

Although he admits that it was initially tough to balance two opposite roles, he has now got the hang of it. "When I started shooting for it, I realised I will have to make an extra effort. But I have learnt how to do it now. Initially it was tough, but now I am used to it. I think comedy has improved me as an actor. It has helped me," he adds.

Talking about the contrasting characters in both shows, the 33-year-old explains, "In 'FIR', I play the role of a desi cop and in Honge Juda Na Hum, I play a neurosurgeon who has studied abroad for a while and is now back in India.

It is challenging for me as an actor to play both these roles simultaneously."
While some actors give prime importance to their role, Aamir says he is very particular about the people he works with. The actor feels lucky that he has always been offered good roles and he makes sure he is comfortable with the team before he signs any project. "I look at the people I am working with.

Whatever I get, the roles are good. But at this phase in my career, I prefer working with people who I am comfortable with," says Aamir, who has done shows like Kya Dill Mein Hai and Bhaskar Bharti. His last Bollywood project was 'I Hate Luv Storys' and he says he is open to taking up more roles if something good comes his way. "Since 'I Hate Luv Storys', I have been busy with television. For me, films are important. But I want to do quality work. If I get such offers, I will take them up," clarifies Aamir.
