Johnny Lever is an Indian actor and comedian.
A veteran of over 150 Bollywood films, Johnny Lever rose from poverty to become one of India's top comic actors. After working for six years at Hindustan Lever (he draws his stage name from his ex-employer), he quit his job to try his hand out in show business. He started off doing stand-up acts back in the 1980s and 1990s to full houses. Eventually, he was spotted and given a break in Bollywood by Sunil Dutt in his 1981 film, Yeh Rishta Na Tootay.
