I don't know about shame, but i do know that Yash needs psychological help.
I suspect that more than obsessive love for Arpita, Yash is suffering from guilt. The flashbacks were not very clear but what it seemed to me was that it was the headlights from Yash's car that blinded Arpita while she was driving on the opposite direction and foolishly wiping her windscreen manually. Yash is i think feeling guilty that he is the cause of his wife's death and he must have made a promise to Arpita that he will never love another again and in his deep sense of guilt, his love for Arpita became blown to a monstrous proportion so much so that he made his whole life an alter in Arpita's memory.
Luckily for him, he has parents who truly care for him and for his children and hence they forced Yash to marry again. AND luckily for him again that he got a wife, Arthi, who is understanding and patient and who is willing to love him for him alone and not expect him to love her in return (well perhaps care for her as any human would)
Unfortunately things did not turn out so clear cut and complications arose through consumation of their marriage/love?!!! Yash is falling in love for Aarthi or has already fallen in love with Aarthi but he is now fighting it tooth and nail because of his guilt that he could forget Arpita . I know he no longer is in love with Arpita and that his heart has been taken over by Aarthi and hence he i fighting it. But because he is in such a psychological mixup that he has lost his senses to the extent that he has forgotten that life is not just Aarthi alone, but his two daughters as well. He needs psychological help and i hope Aarthi will be the support that he needs to cross over from his obsessive state to a more sane state.
