Icing on the cake' or is it the face?
"Where is he'?"
Khushi mumbled to herself standing right next to the art class.
"Where's who?"
A husky voice whispered to her ear. Khushi jumped at the voice and clumsily fell in to the strong arms of the not so stranger. The peppermint scent once again travelled down to her nose and she closed her eyes to brace herself. Slowly he held her up and turned her around. A tiny smile was gracing his face and he spoke.
"Who were you waiting for Jalebe?"
Khushi gulped and continued to stare at him in awe. He was speaking to her again'. And he was acting completely normal. Did she imagine him ignoring her yesterday or was he messing with her head again?
"Hello' earth to Jalebe!"
Arnav said waving his hand in front of her face. Khushi snapped out of her trance and smiled shyly.
"Actually' I was waiting for you Arnav."
Arnav smirked at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Khushi closed her eyes for a second to stop herself from collapsing. Arnav guided her inside to the Art room.
They sat at the corner, right next to the windows facing the garden.
"Is there something you want to talk about Khushi?"
Arnav asked her now serious. He sensed there was something bothering her otherwise she wouldn't stop ignoring him that fast. Khushi was a determined girl; no matter how shy she was, when it came to fighting something she did it with all her might. Or maybe she just really missed him' Internally he smirked at that thought. He was hoping that was the main reason.
Khushi squirmed underneath his heated gaze. She wasn't sure whether to just ask him why he was ignoring her yesterday. If she did he would accuse her for ignoring him last week, which she couldn't answer to. How was she supposed to say, 'yeah Arnav, the reason why I ignored you was because I am falling in love with you and I have to ignore, you to make it go away.' That was a confession she was not willing to put out. Not now, or ever.
"No... Nothing, actually um, I was wondering when we are going to the Art gallery. The assignment is due soon so we better go."
Khushi spoke trying to stop her voice from trembling. She wasn't afraid of him, but whenever she knew she was lying, her voice trembled.
Arnav raised an eyebrow at her. He slightly heard the tremble in her voice and he knew she was lying. Fine he thought. If she wants to lie to him that is fine, but he will not let it go tomorrow. When tomorrow comes he will try to get something out of her and that was final.
"Oh yeah, I was thinking of that. Tomorrow we'll go together and then maybe we can watch a movie together too. How is that plan baby?"
Arnav asked her knowing exactly what he just called her; 'baby' He was watching her reaction and he almost laughed at the sight. Her eyes were widened, while her fingers began to rapidly twirl the strings of her scarf. She was stunned and nervous, he thought.
"Wel-l 'yeah- that- so-unds goo-d"
Khushi replied back stuttering. She gulped down the butterflies that were attacking her stomach and tried to gain her strength. He had just called her baby. Never in their entire life has he ever called her that. Ever since the moment he witnessed her eat Jalebes like a maniac he has been calling her 'Jalebe', but now he called her baby' What is happening?
"Perfect! Now we better get to work Jalebe or our prof might drill holes in to our heads with his vicious eyes. Dear god he keeps staring at us."
Khushi giggled a little and started on their art project'

Khushi and Arnav walked down the hallways after their last class. Students were flooding the area of all ages; passing out flyers, credit cards, books, pretty much anything that could be handed out. At the side of the hallway there was a cupcake stand, which read, 'FREE CUPCAKES. SAVE THE STUDENT FOOTBALL STADIUM.'
Arnav carefully watched Khushi's eyes light up at the sight of blue icing cupcakes. He smiled and shook his head at her. She was always such a kid when it came to sweets, but he adored at that side to her. She was beautiful when her eyes lit up. It was like seeing twinkling stars glowing in the depths of her brown eyes.
"Khushi stop drooling and go get a cupcake."
Khushi smiled widely at him and ran towards the stand. She grabbed 2 blue iced cupcakes and walk towards him still smiling, as if she gained a lottery. Arnav stood smiling at the sight. He could stare her smile for ages. It was something he always looked forward to.
"Here, you take one and I take one!"
Khushi said gleefully handing one cupcake to him. He took it from her hands and continued to stare at her. She didn't seem to notice since her focus was happily on the cupcake, but then something changed. Khushi slowly looked up at him and he saw a mischievous glint to those brown eyes. An evil smirk appeared on her face and he knew exactly what her intentions were.
"Khushi' no' Khushi don't you dare!"
Arnav said cautiously backing away from her. Khushi continued to move forward with icing on her finger, smiling evilly. This was her all time favorite thing to do; run after Arnav with icing. She loved putting icing on his nose. It was so cute when he got annoyed at that.
"Oh come on Arnav. Why are you so scared of icing! Please, please let me put icing on your nose! It's just a bit. See?"
Khushi said showing the blue icing on her finger.
Arnav shook his head, still backing away from her. Slowly gaining his speed he ran away from her.
"ARNAV, ARNAV COME BACK HERE!"
Khushi yelled after him laughing away at his childish antics. She ignored everyone's eyes on her and ran after him. He was too speedy for her, but eventually she caught up to him. Khushi grabbed a hold of his arm. Turing around her grabbed her wrist to prevent her from putting the icing. While she kept jumping his arm automatically went around her waist. However Khushi was too busy trying to put the icing on his nose to notice.
"You can try all you want Khushi, but no way will you get this icing on my nose. You are too small Jalebe."
Arnav said smirking at her. She was still jumping up to put the icing on his nose. He saw her lips pout at his comment and she stopped jumping.
"That is not fair Arnav! Why can't I put icing on your nose?"
Khushi asked like a little child being forbidden from its toy.
Arnav smiled at her and leaned a little closer and he whispered.
"Because' I said so princess."
Khushi's eyes widened at the comment. Now he called her, 'princess'' Did he actually call her princess? At the sudden halt of her actions Khushi finally became aware of where his arm was. It was snugly wrapped around her waist and she was pulled against him. Blood from her heart pumped faster and the beatings of her heart sped.
"Arnav' um'"
Arnav raised an eyebrow at her, waiting for to continue her sentence, but she stopped. He knew she was affected by him so he held on more. A flustered Khushi was something he loved witnessing. While his eyes roamed around her flushed face he noticed something. There was a bit of blue icing at the corner of her luscious lips. Desire erupted from the pit of his stomach and the unholy thoughts possessed his mind. If he leaned in a little closer he could kiss those lips and taste the sweetness of that blue icing... Just a little closer and he could taste her glorious nectar. Just a little closer and he could lic-
"Arnav... could you let me go...?"
Khushi's small voice interrupted his desire filled thoughts. Quickly his arm unwrapped from her waist and he let her go. Usually he wouldn't give in so easily, but if he kept holding her close he knew his control would let lose. That was a dangerous area to explore just yet.
"Sorry Khushi, come on let's get going. I will drop you home."
Both of them proceeded to the parking lot, while unintentionally Arnav's arm once again wrapped around Khushi's shoulders.
Everything was scrambling out of their grasps and the rollercoaster of their feelings were getting messed up. The only question was whether it was good or bad...
