Gracy returns to her first love

First love
Dance has always been my first love, but I could not pursue it. I learnt classical dance in a very short span of time. In fact, I performed an angeratam (which is like a graduation in dance) just two months before the release of Lagaan. I always wanted to pursue dance, but it just didn't work out. I was, however, always waiting for a good opportunity and this, I feel, is the right platform for me to make a debut.

About Being Radhika
It's a unique dance ballet based on the life of Radha. The show is titled Radhikaa: The Divine Consort. It is a stage rendition of Radha's life, from her birth to her union with Krishna after the Mahabharat. It will also cover major events like Holi in Vrindavan, The Maharaas, Uddhav Samvad, and the Geet Govind. All this will be depicted not through words, but with an imaginative synergy of dance, music, splendid backdrops and twenty very talented dancers. All the original songs have been composed by Ravindra Jain and they just heighten the experience of the ballet.

Story in a dance form
I have been rehearsing for this concert since the past two months. The concert is a combination of Indian dances which includes various dances like folk and classical. It's more like a drama where there are no retakes. It is like performing a story in a dance form.

Dignified Radhika
Apart from nervous, I am quite excited too. I have to prove myself and do justice to this drama which is in a mythological form. I have to perform in a dignified manner.

Role models
I am the biggest fan of Hema Malini and Vyjantimala and have seen them performing. They are my role models.

Not being part of Lage Raho Munnabhai
Lage Raho Munnabhai is a sequel to Munnabhai M.B.B.S. This question will be answered by the producers who decide on the star cast.

On television
I have always been open to television offers. In fact, I did my first serial called Amanat for Zee TV. However, till now, no TV channel has approached me.

Roles that inspire
I like playing realistic roles. More importantly, I should be able to relate that role to my life. It should be something that is close to my heart.

Forthcoming films
My next film, which is due next month is Chanchal. It has been produced and directed by Indrajit with whom I have earlier worked with on the television soap Amanaat. It's a very special film for me. The movie is a family drama and I play the lead role. I have two co-stars both of whom are newcomers. Veteran actress Bindu plays by grandmother. Another film that I shot for is Choodiyaan which is directed by Sukhwant Dhadda
