The story begins in the rustic town of Motihari in the interiors of Bihar, where a husband ill-treats his wife and daughter. The scene then shifts to the pregnant lady, Padmini running away from her husband, Balraj Choudary, because he threatens to kill her and her child if she gives birth to a girl. Perceiving the danger, she flees from her husband's goons toMumbai and finds herself in the midst of a film set. She meets Roma, a TV actress working there and starts living with her. Roma and her brother, Shamsher Malik make a fake accident and make Balraj believe that Padmini and her kids are dead. Roma insists her to work along with her. Although she denies initially, a series of incidents compel her to join the film industry. Once while in the film set, she gives birth to Madhubala. Shamsher accepts the 2 kids as his own daughters.
Even though Madhubala is born literally in the lap of the film industry, she is not interested to work in the film industry. She takes up a job in a beauty parlour. But Trishna's ambition is to become a top heroine. One day Madhubala meets a salesman called Mukund but due to some misunderstanding Madhubala and Mukund begin to fight but after realizing the truth Madhu ask for forgiveness but Mukund walks away so Madhu follows him on the road but suddenly a car hits Mukund . Later it is revealed that the driver was superstar RK aka Rshabh Kundra (Vivan Dsena) and he was drunk. Madhu decides to fight against him. K's manager Bitto tries to bribe (25 lakhs) mukund's family to take the case back. Mukund's mother agrees but Madhu is not happy with this. By this time Mukund had fallen in love with Madhu, so to make Madhu happy he will not sign the papers to withdraw the case. Later RK is arrested and is brought to the police station. Bittoji and the lawyer are late to arrange bail as they wasted their time trying to persuade Madhu and Mukund's family. For the next 4 days the court was closed, so RK was jailed for 4 days. RK wanted revenge from Madhu. So he got Mukand engaged to Madhu but his mom was in on the plan. Later on RK decides to marry Madhu and treat her the way he wants to.
RK tells Madhu to wear everyday a new dress but she deny to wear it he gets angry once again. He told her, if she continues to deny wearing the dress, he will make her wear the dress. Madhu is shocked and change her clothes. Whenever he has the occassion he taunts her and makes her a lower person than him. He said that Madhu is just a servant and not the "BAHU" (DAUGHTER-in-law) of this house. Only Rks Mother feels sorry for Madhu and asked Madhu to forgive RK as he is just angry about his family. Later he introduced her to the film set, he introduced her as his "PERSONAL SPOT GIRL". Madhu is shocked! But Madhu fight for her right. She saved Rishabh when a light falls on him. It fell on Madhus hand. She bleed and Rk begins to care for he. He said that someone should call a docter. Because she saved him, he allowed her to visit her mother and sister. But her sister insulted her, that she has left them alone to enjoy her luxury life. Padmini slapt her and told her that she should be quiet and she doesn't know what kind of situation Madhu is. Madhu broke in tears and ran to Rks car. At home she is noticed by Kuku and Sikandar (Rk Step-father and step-mother). Rks Mother introduced Madhu as the "BAHU OF THE HOUSE" and Kuku and Sikandar are shocked. Kuke tells her that she should take blessings from his FATHER-in law and she comes closer to him but RK stops her and tells her not to do so. He tells her that its not need to take blessings from him because he isn't his father. Besides he tells her that she just listen to his voice and other voices are deaf for her. Madhu nods. Later Padmini seek for a job and find one at film set. But this set is Rk's set. He ins**ted Padmini in front of all people at the set. Madhu is shocked and she confronts him. She tells him, he can taunts and insulted Madhu but not her family. She challenges him and said that she will make him apologise to Padmini within 24hours. Rk smiles and walk away. Kuku and Sikandar put old pictures of rk in an envelope and put it in front of Madhus door. Madhu reads that's her weapon to destroy Rk and to make him say sorry to Padmini. Madhu takes it. Madhu shows rk the pictures. Rk is shocked and asked her, where she got the pics. She told him, she will tell him only on one condition. He should apologise to Padmini. Rk did that. He threatend Madhu that she will repay that to him. Later he saw the old pictures of him in the newspaper and he got angry with Madhu.
He forced Madhu to tell her Father everything about their deal, Madhu refused. But Rk made a contract and took the signature of Madhus Step-father and he signed, that he sold his daughter for 40 LAcs to have the necessary treatment in hospital and when he repays every penny he will get his daughter back. Madhus Step-father found out the truth and is confused. Madhu left. She said, that she hates Rk and her breathe is poisened when he is around her. Rk tells her that every part of her is RKs and her breath too. Madhu just starred.
