Do I have such a 'traditional' thinking?

Excuse the title, but I couldn't think of anything suitable to write.

I've watched a whole load of Hindi serials in my life (of 17) and yes, I've consumed a lot of Indian traditions and cultures (Even though I'm not Indian/Hindu myself). When I first saw Raghav falling in love with Sia, I thought it was not going to work because a) she's already married and b) An unmarried man with an already married woman?

Even though I'm quite logical with my thinking, ie. in real life I would not care about this, I was quite shocked when I thought about Raghav and Sia. Is this because of the views of Indian Television?

And to add to that, when Raghav found out about Sia...he didn't look at her as being already someone else's, or whatever and even when the Singh family found out. They didn't care. They didn't make a big controversy.

Taking everything, I've concluded that even though I'm quite "modern" when it comes to things like this, it's the way media is shown (ie TV) and what they saw such as women should get married once (for example!) that made me think like that. I really applaud the CVs for taking a difference approach. I think the Singh's are such a diverse family: headed by a woman, there's a doctor, a modern girl, and then there's Raghav, the caring son. I think if I had to choose a "perfect" (and I use that term very loosely) family of Indian Television, it would have to be this one because yes they do have their secrets and what not, but I love how their morals are more prevalent that anything else.

I'm glad that the show is telling us viewers that women can get married again if their first marriage was a failure or the husband passed away.
Also remember that when Raghav started to fall for Sia, he didn't know she was married and after he found out, it was already too late as he was already in love with her. What made him like her even more and still want to marry her is the fact that she didn't want her husband and we all know why. It's good that they are showing that a divorced woman can marry a bachelor guy because a lot of people would think "Oh no!! She's a widow/divorced and our son is a bachelor! CANNOT HAPPEN!! Warna qayaamat aajaye gi!!"

Gr8 post Zahra..
i agree, Singh family cud b one of d best families of tv, a real one, where their is no negativity among d members, every1 cares 4 each oders happiness, nd more importantly they respect every person irrespective of hw much money or status they hv.
I m really happy dat thy all accept sia as their bahu, even though they know she was already married, it is a great thing dat they understand nd adore her as a person nd find her suitable 4 RAGHAV, as they know RAGHAV's choice will b good as he is, they want 2 respect his decision.

You are seriously awesome... HATS OFF... Serial is really different from other daily soaps as...
1. Family has been shown like a real family where people love each other, unlike daily soaps where mil is always trying to insult dil, vamps and all...
2. Divorced woman, or second marriage for women is a really sensitive issue in India( or rather every patriarchal society) and it basically starts from the demand of social norms that wife should be a virgin... accord to me, which is utterly stupid and hypocritical.

Yes! It's because of this family that I'm able to overlook the silly bloopers and tracks. I love how there is no vamp in the family! Sure, there was once Tanisha who disliked Sia about the whole Viraj misunderstanding but that was understandable seeing as she is a teenager, as being one myself, we all jump to conclusions. I just have praise for the Singhs. CVs PLEASE continue showing them this way!
