Chaturi sleeps in the STOREROOM???

Seriously, she sleeps in the storeroom???

I remember in the early episodes when Meena was trying to instigate Sandhya against Bhabo and the family, she told her things like the beendnis of the family were only glorified servants and that the only difference between them and Chaturi was that Chaturi slept in the kitchen and they slept in the rooms of the sons of the family (their husbands). So then I thought she probably had a little room off the kitchen. But then this week Meena went upstairs to try to plant her fake letter from Chaturi's village, so I figured that she must now have a little room upstairs. But then... when everyone went upstairs to see if Chaturi was in her room, they went into the storeroom! So Chaturi lives in the storeroom??? Why? Couldn't they at least have had a little room made for her, if they're weren't enough rooms to begin with? She has worked there for over 8 years - its not like they haven't had enough time!

The Rathi's house is so huge, are there really only two rooms on the top floor (Sooraj-Sandhya's room and the storeroom)? Where do guests sleep when they come to visit? I remember when Sooraj's cousin Kirti and her husband came to visit, they slept in Sooraj-Sandhya's room and these two slept on mattresses in the hall, but what do they do if more people stay over? I guess others move onto mattresses as well and the visitors go into their rooms. But where have Rajkumar and Sudha been staying inside the Rathi house? In bedrooms! So are these rooms usually spare rooms or what? Maybe one of them was staying in Bhabo-Bhabasa's room, or maybe Sudha was sharing Chavi's room? (although these both seem unlikely!) Maybe one of the rooms is usually Chaturi's room and when Sudha and Rajkumar both moved in, she moved to the storeroom?

Whatever the case, I find it a bit strange that even though Chaturi is treated like a member of the family a lot of the time (like for poojas and other family events), she still lives in the storeroom (at least for some time)! I'd like to know what you guys think about this. Do you think there is actually some reason for it? Almost everything else in DABH has had a reason, so this probably does, too. Maybe something will take place in the storeroom? Would love to know what you think!

But what I am wondering is this a custom in India?😕

We don't need to bother Arjun - Sandhya will be back in Pushkar soon, armed with the phone number of the school master from Chaturi's village! She'll find out what happened to Chaturi and can reveal the mystery of the store room all at the same time!

Farhana, I had forgotten that they had once shown Chotu sleeping in Sooraj's shop. I had figured that they had shown him there only when Sooraj was teaching Sandhya to cook daal baati churma so that we would have the cute moment when Chotu woke up and saw them there together. I had thought that he either slept in the Rathi house or he lived nearby with some family members. Whatever the case previously, I guess he doesn't sleep in the shop anymore now that Rajkumar sleeps there and is confident enough to carry out his terrorist activities there (which he would surely not do if Chotu was there as well).

I hope that Chaturi will be given a proper room to herself when she does eventually return home after her kidnapping ordeal.
