And how i wish that good for nothing director never took over this serial so that we can have some decent thing to watch on our tv screen. Now he is hell bent on making this show like his old ones cheap and disgusting. I only want to welcome him by throwing rotten tomatoes on him. He really deserves that ONLY.

Sugni needs a proper love interest. So all is good. Cant wait to see the new episodes. The old magic of Iss Pya Ko was created by Lalit Mohan..I am hoping to see the same magic in this show as well. I wish him all the best.

If you started watching the show after LM took over then you will never understand why alot of the forum members were rooting for a Vick-Sugni pairing...Intially Vickram was a very positive character, who was smart , shrewd, charming, fair, humorous, loveable man who happened to fall in love with a free spirited girl. If you go back to the start of the show you would see what most of us fell in love with. The Vickram and Sugni you see now are total opposites of what they use to be at the start. And have be butchered by the new writing team.
Personally, If Vickram and Sugni, although I love them together had been separated because of Reva and she found some one new I would have kept viewing, but they made Sugni turn from a strong self-respecting girl, to this person who sold herself to the highest bidder, because her heart got broken and she is saying it is because she wants to "save Riva's" Marriage? A woman who was persumed dead from the start, that she bearly knows... She had other choices and was not forced to do it, I find that hard to swallow, on top of the fact that her buyer was non other than Vickram's Nephew, who she was willing to have sleep with her, when his fiance is one of her bestest friend, and well wisher. Sorry to say the show had picked up a bad taste!

I agree with Vinnie's summary above

Let me add the following to provide a fuller picture of where we are.

This was not a typical guys falling in love with a girl on first sight etc. They met by chance and fate threw them together time and again mainly when Sugni and/or family were experiencing some kind of difficulty/hardship because Sugni refused to do Rai and Sardhakai. Each time he helped for no other reason than becuase he was a man of principle and he admired Sugni's stance on Rai and Sardhakai and wanted her to succeed in acheiving a respectable life for herself and her family. His support of Sugni often put him at loggeheads with the other Thakurs who do not want the old traditons to change but he did not let that deter him as he agreed with what she was fighting for.

After each such assistance Sugni and her family expressed their gratitude and said they would never forget his "Esaan" but the buthcering of characters has meant that they have all forgotton especially Sugni and G.

The bond that formed between them was that of mutual respect/admiration, which turned to friendship and then love.

His mistake was that when fate bought his dead emotionally unbalanced/mentally ill wife (Reva) back after his wedding to Sugni was annouanced he did not tell her but instead tried to marry Sugni and hide his wife. Everyone who has watched this show from the beginning has said he was wrong to do that. Vikram should have told Sugni, divorced Reva and their proceeded with marrying Sugni and hence my comments above about Sugni giving him hell and acting out.

His family Jiji and Adi (who were left peniless and destitute when Adi's father left them for a Bedni) have been financially and emotionally supported by Vikram for a long time (Adi was shown to be about 6-8 years old when it happened). They have repaid his kindness by Jiji getting him married to a mad woman without his knowledge and Adi now doing Sugni's sardhakai by lying to Vikram that he is doing it so that Sugni is protected and he will keep Sugni as Vikram's amanat until he gets Reva treated and divorces her whereas his real agenda as he tells Sugni is that he wants his mama and mami back together as his mami who is mentally ill from birth, who has not given her husband a moments happiness, does not deserve to lose her husband (a husband who she loves but if she does not get her way physically abuses him and then does not notice the injury, and who does not love her but considers her his responsibility). Adi has seen at first hand and has read letter written for Sugni by Viram expressing how much he loves her and considers her to be his life.

Just to be clear Sugni sold herself on the open market (to save Vikram's marriage) and Adi paid 20 Lacs (we assume Vikram's money as we understand that Adi has no wealth of his own) for her.

Adi convinced Vikram to let him do this by promising him that he would keep Sugni as Vikram's amanat. So for world at large Sugni is Adi's bought and paid for formal mistress. In this case she is vikram's amanat entrusted to Adi (something Sugni does not know). She tried to force Adi to sleep with her because she thought that Vikram would not want her after that and would go back to his wife. Bednis live with their family and the Thakur who has bought them come there for sexual favours.

To gloss over this stark reality of what Sugni has become Sugni is shown living as a guest in the guest house at the havali. She is dressed in gold jewellery Vikram bought her in preparation for their wedding (Bednis barely have enough money to support their family let along buy gold jewellery) so that she appears more as a new married bride rather than a formal mistress.

Adi Sugni have come together under these circumstances and we are asked to accept and sympathise with them when they become a couple who will be dogged by Vikram who trusted Adi when he told him thatonce he divorces Reva Adi will explain it all to Sugni brign her back to Vikram.

This is why most of the original viewers are against this jodi. It is morally reprehensible that a woman who loves a mama would then fall in love with a bhanja and a bhanja who knows how much his mamm/ father figure loves this woman and who has lied to him now falls in love with her.

Thank you Vinnie and Payal for the long explanation..wow..now it makes sense.

I have started watching the show recently and I thought Vikram is a creepy old guy trying to be with this young girl..so hard to sympathize with him...May be I should watch all the old episodes on youtube so I get an idea...but then if I watch all the old episodes I may not like these new episodes lol

Thanks again for taking the time to write this.

I would suggest you do watch the earlier episodes as I am sure you will enjoy them much more than what is being shown now! It was fun well balance , had its light and sad moments, and the chemistry between Vickram and Sugni was awesome.! Now the whole show has a dark heavy feel to it and have lost that old charm.:(
It is important to know the set up of the show in order to understand it! Sadly all these new people added to the show , the director, the writers and Nandesh have brought with them there own fan club, who is looking at the story from here on out and thinking that Vickram is the creepy villian of the series😭
@ Payal great summary !!!!
