notices
a mangy cat lapping milk from a saucer in the window of a second hand
clothing store.
The collector does a double take. He recognizes that the saucer was
from a rare set of china extremely old and very valuable, so he walks casually into the store and offers to buy the cat for two dollars.
Morris storeowner replies "I'm sorry, but the cat isn't for sale.
The collector says, "Please, I need a hungry cat around the house to
catch mice. I'll pay you ten dollars for that sick looking cat."
Morris the owner says ..." Sorry not for sale, I kind of like cats ".
The collector is frantic, and says " Look old man, here is $100 bucks."
Morris takes the $100 ...says " SOLD ", and hand the collector the cat.
The collector continues, "Hey, for a hundred bucks I wonder if you
could throw in that old saucer. The cat's used to it and it'll save me from
having to get a dish."
Morris says, "Sorry mister, but that's my lucky saucer.
So far this week I've sold sixty-eight cats."
