so i'm seeing alot of posts being made by members of this forum regarding certain characters being selfish. People are forgetting that this is just a show and that high drama is expected. there is continuous bashing of numerous characters. whilst i get that some of us identify with and love some of the characters its seems unfair that we should be bashing our fellow members. everyone of us are entittled to an opinion.

I mean, let's face it, these characters are just doing their job and at the end of the day they're getting paid for it. come on people. why are we getting so agitated when someone make a negative post about a character? this person also has a point of view and has the right to express said view.

i am of the view that almost every character in PR has at some point in time been selfish. are we then going to bash all these characters? if so then we might as well throw in the towel and call it quits to PR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with u totally jenelle ...every character has a POV every one has a right to support or not support the POV .👍🏼 to your post .

yes...agreed...and the different POV makes it multi-dimensional and interesting...why are members pointing fingers, if someone POV is different from someone else...if everyone had the same POV, wouldn't life simply be boring one dimension story...

i think people get carried away. these are just characters. if all were good then what's the use of watching the show? it would be a very dull serial with no excitement...

agreed..they r fictional charactets who r paid for the work they r doing...i ws going to make a thread abt this topic..happy dat u made it...
i ws sick and tired of dis bashing...almost all characters are been bashed here and so many threads wer made to bash some or the other character..placing our POV's end in lot of arguments...plz its a req shud do something abt dis bashing..PR forum is full of negative threads...

Jenelle...you are right. almost every character in PR has at some point been selfish...I think the problem on the forum isn't that people support different POV's, but that sometimes people do so with angry words and in demeaning ways. That for me is what is upsetting. Sometimes someone posts a view that i agree with, but they do so in such a rude or angry way that i am very bothered and don't want to read further. If people could post without rudeness it would be oh so much better and a lot more fun.

i totally get that people have an opinion. my problem is how they choose to bring across their point. You can say the same thing without it having to be demeaning and rude. you can disagree with something without the name calling and the slanderous comments.

Characters don't get paid, actors get paid to play characters. Actors are not held responsible here but characters are always meant to be either appreciated or criticized.

If we are going to talk about "multidimensional" characters then there are only handful of those. Savita, Sachin, Ovi, Tej, Varsha. These characters are often portrayed as bad but when you analyze them they have many good qualities. They make you wonder why they behave a certain way? They have a character graph where they can be improved, they can be changed. They can either become villains or they can easily be redeemed into positive characters unlike other villains of the show like Manju's family, Punni..etc

Characters like Archana, Sulochana, Purvi are written as the pure white characters. They are written in a way where there is nothing to analyze, there isn't much complexity in their characters. They are caricatures. Because no matter what the story line is they will always do what every other sati savitri on Indian television has been doing for ages. They are suppose to be the force of good. So when they have selfish traits it appears to be much worse. Characters like Savita, Sachin don't pretend to be compassionate toward every person on earth. They don't act like they are the treasury of good values. So they are allowed a little more flexibility on these issues. So when they are selfish they are just being their characters. But when characters like Purvi is selfish, which by the way she totally is, it is out of her character sketch. I felt like slapping her that she would even dare to ask Manav to do her Kanyadaan. That's despicable.

Ms Jenelle 05 ,say thank goodness there are post dealing with "Being Selfish "otherwise you wouldnt have any artticle to comment on...

Futhermore people are allowed to air their views and opinions in whatever form or fashion..What may be rude and insulting to you may not be so to another.Some may think they are frank,candid and outrite...there is a sying in my country Plain Talk and bad manners...But at the end of the day its just words we use to express our emotions and feelings about a show...At the end of the day how an earth can we be disrespectfu,rude or even demeaning when its the person's role and character we are objecting to?As everyone says its fiction?So who is going to be offended?

People are using vacabulary such as "DEMEANING",how an earth can giving your views on your perception and observation of a character will make you lower your DIGNITY/REPUTATION ?????

Jernelle 05 what is exactly your definition of" BASHING"?

Just because i dont like something and i have the guts to speak about it whether it satisfies peoples's opinion on it doesnt mean i bashed anyone...

Eeven in exams they ask students to critique and analyse the questions ... so what is wrong if someone wants to criticise performance/roles/character...We grow stronger when we know what we have to work on...

You people just have too much Free Time... Get some jobs and if you have get a second job... Utilize your time wisely...
