@SRKlover

If I come to know tht the love of my life is a married man and has been lying to me for last 5 years and is now dying in hospital for me I WOULD HAVE LET HIM DIE. at max I would have called up his parents to take him home but I am not foolish enough to jump into marriage with him.
I have seen enough suicide dramas by college boys and some of my Exs...those girls who fall for this bullshit deserve crappy relationship just like Gawari deserves jagya.

I just wrote a massive post and then pressed the back button by mistake. So now I'm going to do this Anjy style with numbers and bullet points.
  1. Yes, Jagat lied for 5 years. However, Gauri accepted him after those lies. She went back on her initial sensible decision to tell him to take a hike just 'cause he sat in the rain for a night and then begged her to forgive him. Yeah, OK, emotional blackmail, she was in love, yada yada. I don't think that's a good enough excuse. I think a woman should have enough self-respect to make sensible decisions and not rush into a marriage with a liar and cheater when she knows she can do so much better (Gauri was confident, beautiful and educated - there would have been no shortage of rishtas). They say love is blind, but I think that's only initially - a love that's survived for years stops being blind. Butterflies in stomach stop happening for purely biological reasons. One's partner's flaws become more apparent to the other, and if two people can remain together despite all that, then that shows a true and genuine love. Gauri's decision to rush into marriage showed, to my mind, a startling lack of self-respect on her part given her positive attributes, and also a startling lack of good sense (a sensible woman would have asked for time to think, told Jagat that he would have to prove himself through unfailing honesty and straight behaviour to both her and his wife/family). But instead, she jumped into a marriage and had the gall to go and ask for aashirwaad without the least thought that his ex was STILL IN THE HOUSE. That, to me, is neither sacchha pyaar nor being a nice person with a strong moral compass.
  2. ANYWHO, so she accepted him despite his lies. If you accept a cheater knowing that he cheated, that doesn't give you the license to cheat him. That makes you as bad as he is. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Therefore her cheating can't be excused by saying, "Oh well, he cheated too and she still accepted him!" That was her decision, and one she should have thought long and hard about before jumping into it.
  3. Gauri has never once expressed remorse for her actions. Tanvi, you say that she decided to agree to the marriage because she felt Anandi's life wouldn't be spoiled because there was no real relationship between her and Jagat. However, from the very start, she blamed Anandi for "coming between them". Er, excuse me? Who was there first? Aur to aur, even once it was blatantly obvious that there had been feelings between JaAn and were still some residual emotions even on Jagat's side, she continued to blame Anandi and never once told Jagat, "You never told me the whole truth - you said you never loved Anandi, but you obviously did, and she obviously did you!". No, she stood by her decision and its correctness. Even after Bhairon told her that it was illegal, she stood by her decision, masking her own guilt by hurling abuse at Anandi for supposedly duping everyone into thinking she was a great person when she was secretly evil and depraved. Which no sane person could think upon seeing Anandi unless they were deliberately blinding themselves in order to feel better about their own morally questionable actions. The only doubt she ever expressed about how right she and Jagat had been to marry was in a moment of panic after a nightmare about Bhago, where she told Jagat in terror that they had ruined Anandi's life and that Bhago would be out to get them. But that was not remorse. That was her subconscious insecurities and guilt taking shape. If she had really wanted acceptance from the Singhs, she wouldn't have been so impatient and expected it immediately, would have understood Anandi's predicament and apologised to her. Instead, she used Anandi and the Singhs as scapegoats in order to victimise herself. She and Jagat are two peas in a pod!
I think that's all I wanted to say about Gauri. If I think of anything else, I'll make another post.

Dear Sujal, A very nice post. Its nice and even long, it's not strayed anywhere.

only correction is not strong moral compass even weak moral compass is enough in such situations, but you forgot gawari has lost her moral compass, so it's no moral compass

Ashai-amanke-sory i spelled ur username wrongly,you seem have completely attacked on me,although i cant sit with every arope of urs but stil i l try,see one doesnt have to be smal child to listen to a mother,no matter how big u grow but mother wil always be mother,a mother influence wud always remain on daugher,regarding her agreeing to marry ,ya she was convinced that he only loved her,it was foolish or watever but at that moment she believe it,it was nothing like revenge ,just becoz u dnt understand her behaviour but u simply cant make ur own meaning,looking at him she was convinced that he genuinly loves her,he could never be a man who cud live his wife for another women,whatever u think but that is the truth,now she must have realised as now he has confessed that he left hasta kilta parivar for her.

i never said that her decision was right,if it right ,woudnt she be living happy married life,yes but her thoughts wil nt il nor it was for some revenge,i dnt think she spoiled anandi life but definately spoiled her own life,ya if jagya lied to her so that he doesnt loose her then he also should understand y she lied,at least its not she was involved in another men ,any affair or something,his anger,his slap is justified but not leaving her.
